Little Pears Nursery Limited in Pynes Hill, Exeter, aims to offer outstanding childcare and education to all their children through a fully child-centred approach.

As a small setting, the nurturing and caring staff take a personal approach to childcare and the curriculum is planned on an individual basis, depending on each child's requirements and developmental stage.

Each child is allocated a dedicated key person to ensure their individual needs are catered for and their development is nurtured. All children are encouraged to become independent and inquisitive learners while building positive relationships with their peers.

The nursery environment is calm and homely and promotes the use of natural resources and everyday up-cycled objects to engage the children in their learning and encourage imaginative play. Curiosity is encouraged and children are able to choose their own way to use the resources in the nursery setting.

All children's care needs are fully met by the team whilst promoting healthy lifestyles and physical activity.

    We also offer a 50% holiday rebate when booked with 2 week notice or more.


    We accept all children in receipt of Government funding, some further terms for funding apply.


    All fees can be found on our website. We offer hourly sessions for each age group, a minimum of 7 hours a day, a maximum of 11 hours a day.

All three of my kids have attended this nursery over the years starting from when the nursery was really small and it’s great to see how much success they’ve had over the years! Staff are always really friendly and helpful and all my kids enjoy/enjoyed attending. Would always recommend this nursery.
The only downside would be there seems to be a high staff turnover with lots leaving once the child gets used to them however that isn’t the nursery’s fault at all so wouldn’t rate less because of that and this may be the case with a lot of nurseries.

We were in a bit of a pickle for childcare, Little Pearls were able to squeeze in both my children temporarily and made them both feel right at home. They are entirely reasonable with pricing and give a good amount of updates, both my children seem to have a lovely time whilst being there.

My daughter attended this nursery for nearly 3 years.
Her experience and mine has been extremely positive.
The staff are all caring and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
Any requests I had were carried out and the communication was fantastic.
Every day I would be updated on what she had
been doing and photos.
She is now a confident girl which is without a doubt from her experience at the nursery.
I would highly recommend Little Pearls.

My little girl has been going here for over a year. It is a very warm setting and we have never had any tears about going! It is a small nursery which means everyone knows everyone. Both my children spent time at Little Pearls Nursery and they have both loved it! The setting is lovely with lots of space for the children and plenty of fun activities with lots of learning too. All the staff are amazing and happy to talk to you about your child, how their day has been and any concerns
as parents we have which is lovely as you don’t tend to get such insight from other pre-schools.
I highly recommend this nursery if you’re looking for somewhere where your children will be well taken care of and you can relax as a parent knowing they’re well looked after! No nursery is perfect and everywhere is different but Little Pearls work hard every day to improve and make the nursery the lovely place it is and best of all, all the staff love their jobs and have the children’s well-being as a top priority!

Horizon Childcare is a fabulous nursery. The staff make you feel at ease when your child starts nursery for the first time. The staff are absolutely brilliant at what they do, adding daily blogs and pictures to the app. This is great as you can follow your child's journey while they are at nursery.
You have the option to send your child with a packed lunch or they can have a hot meal which is pre booked at an extra cost. Our daughter only attended Horizon for 2 months due to us having to move for work. In the short time she was there, she made huge advancements in her development and completely came out of her shell. We were incredibly sad to see her leave and would highly recommend Horizon Childcare and the staff to anyone thinking of sending their child there.

Putting our son into the care of Horizon Childcare has been a hugely positive experience for the whole family. The team there are fantastic. I couldn’t recommend them highly enough. They are caring yet offer firm guidance; they are enthusiastic and informed about emotional development and learning;
keen to work with parents on the child’s journey; supportive and relaxed. Every effort is made to give the children an interesting, varied and educational day. I feel that the team go out of their way to consider how the nursery can help the children (and parents!) as they prepare for their next steps. I feel that they genuinely care for the children and want them to be happy, well rounded, healthy little people. We will all miss them hugely when our son leaves their care.

Don't be put off if the score isn't 10 out of 10. Horizon doesn't provide lunches which might affect the score; they allow your child to eat whatever you want to give them as a packed lunch - this is ideal for my little picky eater (he didn't eat or drink for 5 months at his previous nursery). They
provide healthy snacks through the day. My 2 boys (aged 1 and 3) are thriving - we’ve seen so many improvements after only 3 weeks! I have been in tears of joy each week I have picked the boys up to see the massive improvements they’ve made and how happy they are. They’ve worked with us doing the best for our babies and giving helpful advice and support. You can tell how good it is by the smiles on the parent's faces who are waiting outside because we all know our babies are getting the best care and support they possibly can. This nursery is friendly and family-like and is truly outstanding. I wish these boxes were bigger because I can’t fit in enough that could express how good this nursery is!

My daughter started the nursery in January after being a Covid baby. We have been fully supported by the nursery in transition from a very strange maternity leave back into a regular routine. They have offered me extra support with settle sessions and the time needed to discuss anything that I was worried
about as she settled. They offer great advice and are always happy to follow my prompts with our own personal choices, ie allow sleep, no cry it out etc.
All the staff have been very friendly, and my daughter simply loves nursery. It's such a pleasure to watch her go off in the mornings so happy and ready for the day.

I honestly, could not ask for a better nursery, my little girl has changed so dramatically over the last 12 months, all thanks to the girls at Horizon. They are kind, caring and very passionate about the well-being of all their children. They support you in every situation and are always happy to help.
The best thing I have ever done was choose Horizon. She comes home so happy and full of stories every day! The staff have helped my little girl more than I could ever be thankful for.

A friendly, easy-going and calming setting. I had a really informative show around from the duty manager. We absolutely love the setting and the staff at Horizon. My daughter started there at 7-months-old so I was extremely anxious leaving her at such a young age. She has however thrived since attending, she is such a happy and outgoing little girl and nursery has definitely attributed towards that. She
clearly adores her key carers and is always happy being dropped off and I’m happy that Horizon is a secure and safe space for the children.
They keep her busy with a wide range of activities, sensory games, dancing, music, the list goes on and I am so glad my daughter gets such a range of activity, engagement and learning.

I have nothing negative to say about Horizon nursery. Would recommend to everyone. We've attended from 7 months to 4.5 years and so experienced all the rooms and know all the staff. My daughter is incredibly happy there. The nursery itself is warm and inviting. They are very nurturing. The management
are very approachable and will work with you to help resolve any issues. I love that they have an understanding of the curiosity approach and Montessori activities which leads on from what we do at home.

My son has been attending Horizon Childcare since he was 10 months old. He has always loved going to nursery and is always encouraged to do as much as he wants to. In October 2020 I had my second child and the nursery as a whole was so supportive with my son leading up to birth and while I was in hospital
and other family members having to collect/drop him off.
I couldn’t ask anything more from a nursery/childcare setting!
