Mama Bear’s nursery and pre-school offers childcare in Bridgwater, Somerset. The newly opened nursery offers fixed or flexible care for children aged three months to five years.

Qualified staff help children to develop skills through indoor and outdoor play and activities, such as music, art, climbing and fancy dress. Pre-school children are provided with a free uniform and learn academic skills to prepare them for school.

Nutritionally balanced food is prepared in the nursery’s kitchen using fresh ingredients, with dietary needs accommodated. All meals and snacks are included in fees.

My baby boy has been coming here since he was 9 months old and now he is 2. With so much change that has happened, he still loves going to nursery more than ever now. The new manager is great, she is warm and welcoming as well as very supportive, my little boy runs up to each and every member of staff
and hugs them. Thank you to the new girls for keeping us happy and supporting me with him, you are all great.

My son has been attending this setting since October 2021.
Sending him to the nursery is one of those things I know would be beneficial for him, but so hard to do! It was. But the staff bonded with him instantly; he has such a personality!
The staff there all know who he is. He is so comfortable now
in there and is so cheeky with the staff. He has gone from babies to bounce and will be going into their Pre-School next week. His speech has developed, and his confidence has only increased since being there.
His key worker for the entire time he has been there, and I can not say enough good things about her. She has the same kind of outlook on everything as we do at home and is our type of person, which is why they matched so well. Another member of staff has also been incredible since he joined. They have both been through so much change since we've been there, and it hasn't shown through either of them. They've been consistent and amazing the whole time. An absolute credit to this nursery.

We’ve been attending Mama Bear’s Bridgwater since January 2021 and we love it so much. We’ve stuck by them throughout the staff changes etc and I have to say that they’ve always put my boys first no matter what. My children absolutely love it there and that is the most important thing to me. One of
my children struggles with emotions in situations but doesn’t have this problem at Mama Bear’s. The staff really give him their 100% and cover his needs. They are very well cared for and looked after. My only criticism, which is not of this nursery but of the way things are set up in general, is that the session times are not that great. It would be good if these could be looked at and improved for parents. For example I would much prefer doing a 10am - 4pm session instead of 12:30-5:30 slot but this is not possible. I think you need to give parents the opportunity to drop off and pick up at the times they choose. Rather than specific slots to choose from which aren’t great times.

It took some time for my baby to settle since he was with me for a while as a result of the lockdown. I especially appreciate Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Bridgwater) for helping my then anxious baby get over his separation anxiety. It helped me focus more at work knowing he's happy and safe.

I have been really impressed with Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Bridgwater). My son (and I!) were both really anxious for him to start nursery. After a couple of weeks of teething problems getting him settled in, he has now had a couple of weeks where he has had an amazing time. I know when
I drop him off he is safe and well cared for, that fun and enriching activities will be planned, that he will be able to safely interact with other children and trusted adults and that he will eat good and nutritious food. The nursery providers have kept me really well informed throughout the process of getting my little boy settled in, and have been happy to talk to me when I’ve phoned up to see how he’s getting on. I also get regular updates with photos and videos on the app which helps me through the day when I’m missing him. My baby now loves the baby room and has made some nice bonds with staff. I would highly recommend Mama Bears to anybody!

The staff support my grandson in the most amazing way. It is clear the staff care for the children. Always welcome us with a smile and a friendly attitude. Going into the setting has been so nice, seeing all the lovely activities the children have daily and the displays in the room.

Mama Bear's Bridgwater is an absolutely outstanding nursery setting!
I could not be happier with the care and learning course provided by this fabulous nursery.
Two of my children now attend here and I have no hesitation in enrolling my third child.
The staff are absolutely fantastic; happy, welcoming,
always greet you and the children with a smile and are always ready to fully inform you of your child’s day, activities and this is also updated on the parent app - brilliant! Brings real peace of mind.

This is by far the best nursery going the staff are great and keep you informed of everything your child does all day. My son has come on so well since being at this nursery and the manager goes above and beyond to fit your hours in would 100% recommend this place.

We are really pleased we chose to send our son to Mama Bear's. All the staff are really warm and welcoming - we can't speak highly enough of the nursery. Communication is always great. I have been so impressed by the nursery team at Mama Bear's in Bridgwater. The staff team are so nurturing and take the time to understand the children. I really like the fact that when we drop off and collect they take a few minutes despite being busy, to hand over. My daughter gets to do so many varied
activities and loves her time at pre-school. The nursery manager is amazing - and leads by example often in the thick of it with the children as well. There is plenty of parking right outside the nursery which makes it very easy to drop off and collect, and the flexible booking system makes it more reasonable than other providers. The site is clean and safe - I have no concerns whatsoever leaving my daughter in their care.

My son has been attending Mama Bear's since November 2020 and I cannot fault the service we have received. The staff have done a fab job of helping him to settle in as with Covid he had little interaction before attending nursery with children of his age. The regular updates posted through the day are

My two boys (10 months and 2 years 10 months) started at Mama Bear's on the 19th April and are definitely enjoying it. My 2 year old became a bit unsettled when he first started but that was supported well by all staff in the bouncy room. His key-worker along with all the other staff in the bouncy room
are supporting us with some behaviour issues we are having at home and we are seeing an improvement with their support. We’ve also seen an improvement already in his development and he non stop sings nursery rhymes now wherever we are, he has started talking about letters and trying to draw them and is becoming more independent.


I was really worried about my 10 month old starting as he had been with no-one but me his whole life but he seems to have settled amazingly. We have no tears at handover and he has become less clingy since starting. I love being able to see exactly what they’ve been doing on my lunch break using the app system as its updated during the day.

We are so glad that we sent our little boy to Mama Bear's nursery, he is always so happy to go and comes home with a big smile on his face usually covered in paint and glitter which we love as it's a sign they've been doing fun activities and messy play.
The staff are always friendly, professional
and you can tell they have a passion for education and treat each child as an individual.
The rooms are clean, spacious and have everything a child could want to play with. The outdoor space is our sons favourite place to be and the activities are fun and educational. He also loves the food the chef makes, she somehow gets him to eat vegetables!
Would highly recommend Mama Bear's, big thank you to all the staff!

My experience with the nursery is been brilliant. They have all been very welcoming and always had time for me and my child.
Very good communication skills and also professional.
My child loves going to nursery and always comes out with a big smile on his little face, you can see the improvement
already with my child saying lots more words and learning new things each day.
They have been excellent and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a nursery.

I’m extremely happy with Mama Bear' nursery my little boy loves it and I would recommend to anyone. The staff are brilliant there and hygiene due to COVID is immaculate. My boy loves the activities they do with him and the app is a great way to be informed of everything that goes on and pictures too.

Staff are all welcoming and friendly. The secure entrance which gives you confidence in your child's safety. Well presented and modern, lovely environment and spacious. Very informative about the setting. My son is currently doing his settling sessions and the staff have given me the confidence that
