Our son has enjoyed his time at Hove Village Nursery enormously over the last couple of years. The care, attention, and encouragement he's received from all members of staff has been palpable and is greatly appreciated. The overall culture and environment within is excellent; you can sense that the
members of staff take a genuine interest in each child as an individual and cater for their specific needs as they develop.
The feedback on how our son is contributing to the group dynamics, what he's enjoyed participating in, what he's perhaps been struggling with, and what he's been up to day-to-day are great, as have the regular updates via the app are fantastic (I'm especially jealous of the food he gets to enjoy!) and seeing the photos of him enjoying playing and learning with his friends.
The staff have worked really hard to help prepare him for the transition to full-time school next month so he goes in full of confidence, again which we're hugely grateful for. Thank you!

Samantha Holman

Job Title: Nursery Manager

Sam began her career in childcare in 2006, leaving college to work at a local nursery where she earned her NVQ Level 3. While working full-time, she went on to complete a BA in Childhood and Youth Studies. After many years as a senior member of staff, she advanced into a management position and became part of the Hove Village family in 2022. In December 2025, she took on the role of manager at Hove Village, located at Hove Library and expressed her enthusiasm for being there, appreciating the nursery's unique location and sense of community.


Sam is passionate about exploring various learning methods for all age groups and particularly enjoys the child-led approach, recognising the significant benefits it has on children's development.


In her free time, Sam delights in outdoor activities, engaging her creativity, listening to music, and spending quality time with her family.
