Elan Preschool, Haywards Heath

My three-year-old daughter attends Elan Pre-School three days a week, having moved up from the nearby nursery site last year. She is delighted to go each day and comes out at the end of the day full of smiles and stories of what she's been upto. Her language and reasoning have clearly come on since she has been there. Overall, the most telling thing for me though leaving my child at Elan while I'm at work is that she talks about the staff at home and refers to them as her friends, and is clearly very happy there. Our new baby will go to both sites in due course, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Elan Pre-School to others. My thanks to the staff.

Pre-school has felt like an extension of our family - both boys have loved attending over the years and we will be so sad when our youngest leaves to start school this September. The staff have been so supportive and encouraging with their development, they always go the extra mile to help the children. In our personal experience, we feel they dedicated a lot of one-to-one time with our children and really got to know them. The facilities and range of play areas within the pre-school and garden area give a lot of variety and our son is always so excited to share what he has been up to and learnt each day.

My son has been at Elan Preschool after moving over from the nursery setting, and he is having the absolute time of his life. After just 3 months he is recognising letters and spelling his own name (he had no interest in this before!) He comes home leaping and bounding, singing songs about different continents and telling me all about what he has done with his friends and different members of staff that day. The staff are all so friendly and have always been available to answer any queries or concerns I've had. They have a wonderful play area outside and more activities planned every day than I could ever think of. I couldn't recommend Elan more highly!

Elan Preschool - Haywards Heath is such a great place for kids. My daughter absolutely loves going there and comes home everyday excited about what she was up to that day. They are not only about childcare but big on learning too. Staff is doing amazing job looking after and teaching our next generation. We have found Elan Preschool to be extremely caring and nurturing for our 3-year-old. After recently relocating to the area we were nervous about how our child would settle in a new environment. We found the staff to be very proactive, encouraging and stimulating which has made for an easy transition. Our child seems to be learning a great deal and is full of tales of the activities he has completed at home time. We would definitely recommend Elan to other parents.

More generally, the preschool is well run, with great parent communications, really efficient admin on the bills side, clear policies and management that really welcome and respond to parent feedback. I've even turned to them for advice when I've been worried about a parenting issue and they will always help. I asked my daughter 'Why do you like preschool?' and she said 'because I laugh so much.' I think that says it all.

My son has attended Elan Preschool for the past 18 months, and prior to this attended the Nursery setting too. He loves preschool and comes home full of excitement from the fun he’s had throughout the day. The setting provides a safe and happy environment for all the children, with wonderful friendly staff who are professional and attentive to each child’s needs and development. The pre-school is managed really well, and we have been especially impressed with their approach during the Covid-19 pandemic, with clear communication throughout about the changes that have had to be implemented. The whole team have made coming back after lockdown a very easy transition for both children and parents alike. I would recommend this setting to others without any hesitation.

My son joined preschool in June and has settled in extremely quickly. He had only recently changed nurseries following our move from London, so I was a bit nervous about another change but had absolutely no need to worry. He enjoys his days, talks lots about things he has done and is really happy. All the staff are so friendly and welcoming. We are extremely happy there.

My granddaughter began at this nursery, having pre-COVID attended its sister nursery at Horsham. By the end of her first week (4 days) at Elan she had settled in and already decided she liked it. My granddaughter has built a good rapport with her keyworker also likes another member of staff and has a particular fondness for the chef. Happy and keenly confident to attend Elan speaks for itself.

Our daughter started at Elan Pre School at the beginning of June and truth be told, we were a bit apprehensive as to how well she would settle in having been at home with me (her mum) for the best part of 8 months. This was short-lived! She ran into 'school' and hardly even looked round to say goodbye. This is thanks to the amazing preschool set up and the extremely kinds and welcoming staff. We cannot praise and thank them enough for making our daughter feel welcome and right at home from day one. Thank you to the manager and also to your wonderful team.

My second child is currently at Elan, both have really enjoyed their time here. The staff are really caring, and the manager always addresses questions or feedback in a very constructive manner. My two children have gained a lot of independence through attending, as well as a solid grounding in letters and numbers ahead of starting at school. The food cooked on-site is high quality and the mealtime routines are great for the children to eat more independently than at home, using cutlery by themselves etc.

The teachers are all lovely, friendly, warm, very patient, accommodating and full of bubbly enthusiasm! We could not be happier with the setting and the whole team have made coming back to school after lockdown a very easy transition.

The staff are wonderful and provide a caring and fun environment for the children (with lots of learning too). The communication with parents is excellent and staff are always happy to help. My son will miss preschool for sure when he leaves.

All four of my children have attended Elan over a continuous period of fourteen years, all from under nine months, my last from three months, who is due to leave at the end of August to start school. Every one of them have grown into happy independent children, so ready to start school. Elan provides a safe and happy environment for children to excel. The staff have always been great with a special few who have been there years. We will be sad to leave and will miss you all.

We moved our daughter to Elan Preschool from another provider. It was a big change for her, leaving all of the friends she had made, but Elan has really supported her. They seem to know and understand her personality already, and she is always happy to run in and see everyone. Her language, confidence and maturity have come on leaps and bounds since attending. I'd also like to add how brilliantly they have handled the covid pandemic, with clear communication throughout and gently educating the kids. My daughter has been attending throughout, and I've felt really safe leaving her in their capable hands. We couldn't be happier with the decision we made to move her to Elan (which was off the back of many, many recommendations!).

The layout of the pre-school works really well, and the garden area is perfect for outdoor play. The pre-school is managed really well, and I have been very impressed with their approach during the coronavirus lockdown. I will be sad when it comes time for my daughter to leave and start big school!

My daughter loves preschool. I really noticed the difference in her after the few weeks she was off in the pandemic; when she returned her sleep went back to normal and her manner, (which had been getting quite defiant, clingy and contrary) went back to her normal affable self. She clearly thrives on the social contact, all the games and dressing up; she often sings the phonics songs at home. She loves the food. She's happy, so I'm happy. From my perspective, the staff have been really flexible and accommodating whenever I've had an issue. I have also been impressed with how they have handled things throughout the pandemic; good communication and great attitude. Thanks!

My daughter currently attends preschool and my son attended until he started school two years ago. We have always been really impressed with all of the staff and the preschool environment. All the staff are always welcoming, make my children immediately feel at ease and really care about every child’s development. Even since preschool reopened, the manager and team have taken careful steps to ensure every child is safe. My daughter couldn’t wait to go back and see her friends. The preschool itself is a detached house, with children are separated into upstairs and downstairs bubbles. The children take part in a variety of activities, from arts and crafts, reading, singing, dancing and outside exercise in the garden etc. There are optional activities like yoga, french and music bus. The location of the preschool is perfect by the station as well as being close to my house. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending to others.
