Sunrise Day Nursery

Highly recommend Sunrise to any and every parent!

Our little one is 21-months-old and has been with Sunrise since he was 10-months. I keep thinking about how lucky we are that we got into this nursery. Such a loving and warm attitude from the carers. They really feel like second mums to the kids. The team is constantly coming up with engaging ways to develop motor, speech and other skills. They even do Italian lessons. Plenty of outdoor time. Great food, which even the fussiest little eaters seem to like. My son has cow milk intolerance, and that wasn’t an issue at all. Can’t recommend them enough but get on the waiting list early!

Our daughter has settled in well to Sunrise and built a strong bond with her key worker and the rest of the team. Their attentiveness and attitude have given us complete confidence throughout the process. They take on board all your feedback and work with you and your child. Developmentally we have seen our daughter come on in leaps and bounds. They do a huge variety of activities, spend a lot of time outside and we get wonderful artworks and pick up a smiling daughter at the end of each day. The staff always have time for an update. The manager knows everyone by name and always has time for a chat. The weekly updates we receive give tips as to how we can build on the weeks learning alongside comical updates on what our babies have been up to. Our whole time at nursery has been during COVID and the staff have been safe and considerate. Information is passed quickly and efficiently. We are thankful they are looking after our daughter.

The staff are very attentive, warm and friendly. They’re clearly passionate about what they do and the management runs a very well run nursery. Moreover, our children love it and are developing into fine little people whilst being there.

The managers make such a kind, understanding and supportive team running the day to day, but all of the staff are fun, thoughtful and imaginative in their approach to teaching the children. There are excellent activities on hand for the children, lots of variation, including Forest School which the children all love. I have found that Sunrise have a great understanding of the individual child’s need, helping support them in their learning and socialising. They really do prepare the kids brilliant for school.

Our daughter has really come into her own since starting Sunrise Nursery - she absolutely loves going and settled in so quickly (even asking over the Xmas holidays if she could go to school today!). Every day she comes home with so much artwork and new stories to tell about her friends which is so reassuring. We're really impressed with all the different lessons they have and everything that the children are learning - straight away we noticed a huge difference in our daughter's language, counting and confidence. Staff are friendly and really helpful with any queries and we are so grateful to how hard they've all been working through this extremely challenging time, thank you!

I would like to thank the manager and the team for everything they have done, our little girl is so settled, we couldn’t imagine her anywhere else.

It’s been a difficult year for everyone and an odd time to be sending your child to nursery given the Covid measures that childcare providers have had to put in place. Having said that, we’ve felt totally comfortable with the care provided at Sunrise and have been really pleased with the communication throughout. As we’ve not been able to go inside the nursery as it stands, it’s been lovely to receive drawings, photos and other updates on the activities. Keep them coming! In addition, the staff come across really warm and caring, the activities fun and the menu nutritious and delicious. We really appreciate it all!

Sunrise is a fab nursery, I'm so happy to have found it. Despite being in a built-up area, there is a decent amount of outside space which the nursery divides up well to cater for the littler and bigger ones. Forest school activities along with Montessori teaching were big plus-points for me. The staff have always been so lovely, caring and nurturing, you can tell they really care about the children. My eldest absolutely thrived there, she is now at school and is ahead of many of her peers on phonics and writing, all learnt through play at Sunrise. I have had regular comments from her primary school teacher to say how impressed they are with her knowledge on all sorts of topics! My youngest joined the baby room at Sunrise a few months ago. After initial drop-off wobbles, she now has a beaming smile when she goes and also when I pick her up. I regularly recommend Sunrise to parents in the area.

Our son has been attending Sunrise since August last year and absolutely loves it. We were so nervous about sending him but Christine and the team were fantastic from day one and it became clear very quickly how much our boy loved being there. He always goes running in with a smile on his face and loves the wonderful team of ladies that look after him in the pre Toddler room. The activities he does each week have had a clear impact on his development and confidence and we couldn’t recommend Sunrise more!

My daughter has been attending Sunrise Day Nursery since she was nine months old - she is now nearly three - for three full days a week. In that time I have been consistently amazed by the professionalism, kindness, care and attention shown to not just her but all the children under Sunrise's care. It is such a happy place to send a child and my daughter runs in every day without looking back at me! She has made great friends with her group as well as the staff. When she was nine months old her key worker was so kind, gentle and patient with me as well as my daughter, and they made every effort to ensure a smooth settling in period, allowing for different routines, special toys and other requirements. I couldn't recommend the nursery enough. My daughter is a confident, happy little person who is learning so much and loves spending time outdoors.

My son started at Sunrise in January last year (2020) and he loves going. The staff are brilliant, very attentive to the child's individual needs. They help children to develop their confidence and independence through a wide range of activities. My son is bilingual and he has been supported while he was learning English. As he is in pre-school age now, he is learning numbers and lettering as well as counting in a second language. We also get an update at the end of each day with all activities done and food eaten. The hours are long but also flexible, ideal for working parents. Finally, they managed communications during the pandemic in an excellent way. It is clear that they really care about the children. I would definitely recommend Sunrise. Best nursery in the area.

I would recommend Sunrise to everyone! From the moment I contacted them to discuss their setting and our initial visit (pre-Covid!) and throughout the time my son has been there, I have been so pleased by the loveliness of the staff. My son has been there 16 months (from just before he turned 3) and the opportunity to socialise and learn has been fantastic. He runs into the building in the morning and he has formed such a bond with his key worker whom he loves (which the team picks based on the connection between the child and different staff members) but he also speaks so positively about all of the adults. I love that he is enjoying himself but I have been so impressed how they have fostered his learning and specifically with writing and reading in a way that means it is fun for him and when he is at home he wants to show us what he has done and continue practicing. I have trusted the team to keep him safe during these uncertain times and we are so thankful for them and their care!

Our daughter has been at Sunrise for the last 3 years. Every day of her time there she has skipped in each morning looking forward to the day ahead and out each evening full of stories about what a great time she has had with her friends and teachers. As full-time working parents we needed a nursery that we could rely on and feel that our daughter would be safe, happy and exposed to learning experiences. We have not been disappointed. Sunrise has taught our daughter so much. From her early days in the baby room where she learnt to walk/talk to now, in the classroom, where she has learnt to write her name, recognise letters/numbers and develop interests in the world around her. The teachers are caring and supportive - they notice what she is interested in and support it through arts, crafts, imaginary play, discussion and so forth. The management is also happy to listen to parental concerns and work with us to address them. We are 100% satisfied with Sunrise and would highly recommend it.

Great place, lovely people - couldn't be happier with the care, attention, and education they give our son. We'd heard great things about Sunrise from friends and acquaintances, and everything we were told was true. Our son started at about 9months, settled in in good time, and has thrived there since. This is an extremely well-run operation, staffed by really lovely people who seem to have huge affection for the kids in their charge. I don't want a third child, but if we had one I wouldn't hesitate to send them here.

Sunrise Daycare Nursery is an amazing small and nurturing structure for children. It was the perfect environment for our daughters to transition from childminder to nursery. We absolutely love the fact that this is a forest school nursery and that the girls get to spend a lot of time outside (they also have a large and lovely garden). The staff are very lovely and caring. The manager and her assistant are amazing! The food is freshly prepared daily.

We could not be happier with our daughters nursery. We absolutely love Sunrise and all the hard-working, caring and wonderful staff who work there. From day one they have supported us as nervous parents leaving our first child in their care, they have nurtured her and she has developed so much in her time at Sunrise. All of the staff are super friendly, kind, responsive and so so caring. She does so much in a day, we especially love the outdoor play and the fresh air she gets. I can not recommend Sunrise more highly, we are so pleased we found this place for our little girl.

Our son joined Sunrise Day Nursery at 24 months and has absolutely thrived. The staff is loving, warm and engaged in children’s learning. They provide detailed daily feedback, which is very helpful. We like the diversity of activities that children are introduced to and of learning approaches, which include Montessori and forest school principles. Overall, we feel lucky that our little boy is in such warm and capable hands.

We are very pleased with the Nursery, the staff and the learning structure. Our little one (currently 19 months) goes to the nursery with a big smile and some days is not very keen on coming back home, that's how much she likes it. The staff are extraordinary: extremely well trained, superb with the little ones and very courteous with parents. Food is good and the menu improves all the time so this is another positive point. One thing that we are also very pleased about is the fast and exhaustive communication we receive from all staff members. As new parents, the first couple of months were very stressful for us, simply because we never left our little one with anybody else and she would (over the course of the first 2 weeks) cry when dropped off. We would ring up the staff every day after about 1h from drop off and we would ask a million questions, all answered with extreme knowledge, professionalism and absolute calm - exactly what we needed. Thank you Sunrise.

I had two kids at sunrise, one currently still there and couldn’t be happier. The teachers are still in touch with my eldest despite having left and the youngest adores everyone there. They come home daily with all the activities they do and they are learning without any pressure in fun ways that my kids have always just ran through the door and not looked back! The food is excellent and they are very encouraging with difficult eaters such as my daughter who struggles to eat vegetables but with their constant nurturing she was eating by the time she left. They are very friendly and the friendships of the kids seem extremely strong. They have made great friends there that hopefully will continue on past their time at sunrise. It is everything I could ask for in a nursery both my kids have thrived there.
