Bright Kids Coughton is set within a wonderful former old-style school building, full of character and history, located 100 yards down a lane directly opposite the historic Coughton Court.
The nursery’s smaller, more intimate size gives it a distinctive feel. Babies have their own space, while toddlers and preschool children learn and play in environments designed to encourage movement, imagination and discovery. The character of the old building adds warmth and individuality. Each area is carefully arranged around the children who use it.
Instead of using lots of regular toys, the nursery provides materials that can be used in many ways, natural items, and everyday objects. Children might build with loose pieces, explore real tools and kitchen items, make up stories with a china tea set, or discover texture, weight, and sound using objects that encourage different ideas. This helps children build confidence, coordination, problem-solving skills, and independence through meaningful activities.
Outside, children have access to a large play space with opportunities to move, create, investigate and notice the natural world throughout the seasons. The nursery’s rural South Warwickshire location provides a beautiful backdrop to help children connect with their surroundings.
Practitioners pay close attention to what children are trying to understand and add new words, ideas, resources and challenges that move their thinking forward. Learning grows from real conversations, shared discoveries and the questions children naturally ask.
Located on Sambourne Lane, between Studley and Alcester, Bright Kids Coughton provides care for children from babyhood to school age. Families are invited to visit, meet the close-knit team and experience a nursery where the building, setting and people all contribute to something genuinely special.

The staff at Bright Kids Coughton are warm and nurturing and put so much thought and care into providing stimulating resources and an exciting, ever-evolving environment. My 5-year-old son attends Wraparound Care and is well supported with a positive start and end to his day, he enjoys holiday club activities too.

Overall the transition into Bright Kids has been good. The nursery has improved lots and my daughter seems very well settled with the new staff. There is a lot more for the kids to do and we are happy with the staff too.

Chose this nursery for holiday cover and what a lovely nursery, with the friendliest of staff. At no stage were we anxious about leaving our Grandson in their professional care - from our initial visit we had absolute confidence. At no stage were we anxious about leaving our Grandson in their professional care - from our initial visit we had absolute confidence. I would highly rate this nursery, the staff, facilities and the food. It was a delight listening to how much our Grandson had enjoyed each day he was there. We shall definitely use it again.
My granddaughter recently started at this nursery and I have nothing but praise for the setting and the staff. It is a beautiful nursery with an outstanding environment and the surrounding countryside just tops the homely natural feel.

From the minute you walk through the door, you are welcomed and staff make the welcome and handover feel personal and offer that sense of belonging from the offset.
The activities are something I've not seen before but they provide wonderful enriching learning for the children and I'm confident my granddaughter is going to thrive here.
I've been made aware there are plans to update the older side of the buildings which will make a massive impact and I cant wait to see it continue evolving!
Thank you for all that you do - we are very satisfied with the care that is offered!

Holly graduated from the University of Worcester in 2014 and has worked in early years ever since, gaining experience across both mainstream and special educational settings.
She is passionate about creating a nurturing, home-from-home environment where children feel safe, valued and excited to explore. Coughton is such a special and unique setting, and our team work incredibly hard to fill it with opportunities that spark children’s natural curiosity and create genuine moments of awe and wonder.
She said: "I particularly enjoy messy and sensory play, as I believe children learn best when they are able to investigate, experiment and discover things for themselves. Through play, children build confidence, develop new skills and begin to make sense of the world around them. I feel incredibly proud to lead the Coughton team and to be part of a nursery where children are encouraged to use their imaginations, follow their interests and build strong foundations for their future learning."
Alongside her role as Nursery Manager, Holly is also the nursery SENCO. Supporting children with additional needs is something she cares deeply about, and she is committed to working closely with families and professionals to ensure every child receives the individual understanding and support they need to thrive.
