All staff are very welcoming and loving towards my daughter. She speaks very highly of them. They show a keen interest in her likes and what she gets up to at home. I enjoy the daily updates I get from them and all activities are well thought out. My daughter loves coming into nursery each day to see her friends and the staff alike.
Our son has been in the nursery for a year now and I can comfortably say it is a safe haven for our son. The branch manager and the staff take such good care of our son that he always goes in and comes out happy. The staff is always on top of everything. The premises are super clean and their activities are meticulously planned every day with daily updates on their app. They are prompt in responding and ensure parents are given the assurance they need, sometimes multiple times. The staff is professional and warm at the same time which is a rare thing to find. They also discuss and share children’s developmental milestones and hold parent meetings to discuss all key milestones. We are extremely happy and feel lucky to have Butterfly Patch near our home as wouldn’t think of any other nursery after experiencing such class service.
My son has been attending this nursery for almost one year, I have purposely waited this long to write a review so that I would have a complete picture. The Butterfly Patch South Norwood is an absolutely amazing nursery! Words cannot express how happy I am with the quality of care and love they show my son. The manager and the team are fantastic, any issues or concerns (which are rare) are dealt with swiftly; as a parent, I feel listened to and always supported. This is so refreshing as I moved my son from a different nursery because he was unhappy; he is a different child at The Butterfly Patch, he is happy to attend, regularly request to go at the weekend and sometimes, doesn't want to come home! My child is happy again and has been since he started. He has learnt so much since being there, educationally, socially and environmentally. The values of the nursery really do align with my own. Love the fact they encourage curiosity and listen to the children. So glad I found this nursery! I am a big fan.
Overall, I am very happy with the staff and the care at this nursery. You are updated throughout the day of activities and what your child has been doing. They have an app which is updated regularly and staff has always been happy to give an update on pick up. They do educational activities throughout the day. The food is healthy.
Since leaving his previous nursery, he has come on in leaps and bounds. He has a great bond with the manager and the staff team alike. The nursery is very welcoming and homely. My son's experiences have been so varied and he enjoys his time there so much, coming home talking nonstop about what he has been up to during the day.
This nursery has the best manager along with the key worker that has looked after my daughter since she started coming when she was 4 months old. They are so informative, helpful and caring towards her. The nursery is a friendly environment with my daughter learning so much, she is so clever and has picked up so many skills since she started coming to the Butterfly Patch. It is one of the best decisions we made for our daughter. I am so happy with the decision to start bringing our daughter to the Butterfly Patch. All the staff at South Norwood are amazing and I’m very grateful.
Both my children are at the Butterfly Patch in South Norwood and we absolutely love it. The staff look very well after our children and go above and beyond to ensure that the right routine is followed and that the children are happy. As a parent, I am always comfortable leaving my children at the nursery and knowing that they are in good hands. During the day they both complete a set of varied activities, receive healthy food and get great care. My eldest one always comes home with new knowledge and an expanded vocabulary. You can always rely on the head of the nursery and her staff that pro-actively tackle any requests, regarding the wellbeing of the children.
The nursery is well managed so parents can feel confident in their child’s care and supported. The staff are friendly and easy to communicate with. Parents are updated quarterly about their child’s progress, however, we receive daily updates when collecting our child. If there are any issues, parents are contacted via the app and over the phone, if need be. Having the app makes me feel safer leaving my child in the care of another. I wish it could open earlier to fit in line with my job but I am happy with the opening hours all the same. The diet is very good and children are encouraged to drink water and have fruit throughout the day.
We are so happy with The Butterfly Patch South Norwood. The staff are fantastic and really care about the children. They get up to so much in one day and it feels like a home from home environment. Our little boy absolutely loves it and gets excited to go to nursery in the morning. They also get such a variety of food to try which I am really pleased about.
I really like the way they treat the parents and the children - they are well organized. When I went inside the place, it was very nice and I can see the children are very happy. Especially my son, he has really improved and I am very, very impressed.
Our little boy loves attending. The staff go above and beyond every day. A creative approach to learning which has given him a wonderful imagination and wide vocabulary. I was recommended and I have recommended others who have been just as pleased.
The culture is really positive - I feel confident that the staff are happy to work there and are loving towards my child, which is very reassuring. The fantastic culture means conversations regarding our child’s routine and settling in have been positive and constructive rather than awkward and defensive, which has been really refreshing. We’re really happy we’ve sent our child here!
The team at the nursery are extremely approachable and always strive to meet the needs of parents and children. They know the children well, are very kind and build genuine relationships with them. There’s a good range of indoor and outdoor activities planned each day, and a variety of healthy food is served. Communication is good, through the use of the app I can see when my child has napped, what they’ve eaten and also photos of activities they’ve completed.
I feel that the professionalism of the staff (especially at the top) has allowed my grandson to flourish and grow. He looks forward to attending the nursery and enjoys taking part in activities; along with speaking fondly of certain members of staff.
This is a lovely environment for pre-schoolers. They seem to do lots of engaging activities all the time. I feel really confident about the staff who are very competent, really warm, caring and adored by my two toddlers.
I am pleased with the level of care children are experiencing at The Butterfly Patch South Norwood. They have plenty of learning opportunities through play, the environment is safe and staff are friendly and caring.
We are very happy with the Butterfly Patch and all the lovely staff. My little 2-year-old girl loves it, she has been there for about 5 months. She comes home smiley, happy and chatting away about her day, filled with a variety of activities, which encompasses the seasons and cultural celebrations and everything in-between. The staff and key workers are very responsive with any questions we have and constant with their updates on how she is doing. Any concerns are talked through with us, equally, we are told about successes throughout the day. I feel the Butterfly Patch is a very positive, nurturing space for little minds, we are very happy with how our little girl has settled in enjoying her time there.
Both of my children currently attend The Butterfly Patch South Norwood. They both love going and I have a great relationship with the staff. Their time at the nursery has been beneficial to their development and I would definitely recommend it to other families.
My child has been at The Butterfly Patch South Norwood for a while. He absolutely loves going. He has delayed speech which is progressing being at nursery. The staff are brilliant with him and very supportive with his speech.
We have had nothing but positive experiences with The Butterfly Patch South Norwood. The staff are attentive and seem to be able to anticipate all our needs, questions and our little one loves every minute. Whenever there's been a bump in the road they've been there to help us all the way. We really can't recommend them enough!

Meet the Team (2)
Started my child care career when I finished school in 2009. I studied for two years at college whilst obtaining experience in a day nursery as part of my qualification I completed my experience and they offered me a permanent role.
During this time I also completed my Level 5 leadership and management in children and young people's services. I completed this course to help me further my career to management in child care.
In March 2015 I moved to Egypt for 12 months to work in a nursery. During this time I worked with a range of different families of cultures from around the world. I implemented the Early Years Foundation Stage ethos into the setting and was amazed to see how the children excelled and how much our families responded to the approach.
I returned back to the UK in April 2016 I became a manager of a brand new nursery. I was finally able to put all of my experience and knowledge into full practice. In this setting I achieved a "Good" Ofsted grade and continues to support the nursery and to staff to their full potential. I thrived of seeing not only the staff learn new things but the children excelling and being supported by such loving, caring and nurturing staff.
In November 2017 I decided that it was time to spread my wings, I had worked for the same company for my whole child care career in the UK and it was time to move on. This is when I found The Butterfly Patch.
Children are at the heart of everything we do, children’s welfare and safeguarding is central to all of our decision making. Our staff feel valued and supported from management.
In April 2019 I then transferred to the South Norwood setting to help launch and support the setting in the opening weeks. During this time I was also given a promotion to Area manager and now over see 5 Butterfly Patches
Sonia is the manager of our amazing South Norwood nursery! At that location, we are certified in The Curiosity Approach and love to follow it! Using free and found items in learning and play.
