The Butterfly Patch in South Norwood provides excellent childcare to little ones aged 3 months to 5 years over 51 weeks of the year. Their long hours are suited to all families as it is open from 7:30 am to 6:30 pm, offering full days, AM and PM sessions.

They strive to provide outstanding care and education for your little ones in their precious early years with the support from carefully selected trained and passionate staff.

The Butterfly Patch consists of four rooms:

Glittering Glow Bugs for children aged 3 months to 2 years (with a separate sleep room)

Creative Caterpillars for children 2 to 3.5 years

Bouncing Butterflies for pre-school children

The Snug: a sensory room for all children to experience.

This is a fantastic learning opportunity for children of all ages to explore using their senses. They also offer extracurricular activities such as music classes, hairdressers, baby massage and more.

They have a free-flow garden for toddlers and a free-flow garden for preschoolers.

Finally, a good grub programme ensures fresh, healthy brain food is offered to children each day.

All staff are very welcoming and loving towards my daughter. She speaks very highly of them. They show a keen interest in her likes and what she gets up to at home. I enjoy the daily updates I get from them and all activities are well thought out. My daughter loves coming into nursery each day to see

Our son has been in the nursery for a year now and I can comfortably say it is a safe haven for our son. The branch manager and the staff take such good care of our son that he always goes in and comes out happy. The staff is always on top of everything. The premises are super clean and their activities
are meticulously planned every day with daily updates on their app. They are prompt in responding and ensure parents are given the assurance they need, sometimes multiple times. The staff is professional and warm at the same time which is a rare thing to find. They also discuss and share children’s developmental milestones and hold parent meetings to discuss all key milestones. We are extremely happy and feel lucky to have Butterfly Patch near our home as wouldn’t think of any other nursery after experiencing such class service.

My son has been attending this nursery for almost one year, I have purposely waited this long to write a review so that I would have a complete picture. The Butterfly Patch South Norwood is an absolutely amazing nursery! Words cannot express how happy I am with the quality of care and love they show
my son. The manager and the team are fantastic, any issues or concerns (which are rare) are dealt with swiftly; as a parent, I feel listened to and always supported. This is so refreshing as I moved my son from a different nursery because he was unhappy; he is a different child at The Butterfly Patch, he is happy to attend, regularly request to go at the weekend and sometimes, doesn't want to come home! My child is happy again and has been since he started. He has learnt so much since being there, educationally, socially and environmentally. The values of the nursery really do align with my own. Love the fact they encourage curiosity and listen to the children. So glad I found this nursery! I am a big fan.

Overall, I am very happy with the staff and the care at this nursery. You are updated throughout the day of activities and what your child has been doing. They have an app which is updated regularly and staff has always been happy to give an update on pick up. They do educational activities throughout

My son started in November 2021. I have been very happy with his progress and his development since. He is trying food he does not eat at home and is happy to try new foods.
Since leaving his previous nursery, he has come on in leaps and bounds. He has a great bond with the manager and the staff team
alike. The nursery is very welcoming and homely. My son's experiences have been so varied and he enjoys his time there so much, coming home talking nonstop about what he has been up to during the day.

This nursery has the best manager along with the key worker that has looked after my daughter since she started coming when she was 4 months old. They are so informative, helpful and caring towards her. The nursery is a friendly environment with my daughter learning so much, she is so clever and has

Both my children are at the Butterfly Patch in South Norwood and we absolutely love it. The staff look very well after our children and go above and beyond to ensure that the right routine is followed and that the children are happy. As a parent, I am always comfortable leaving my children at the nursery
and knowing that they are in good hands. During the day they both complete a set of varied activities, receive healthy food and get great care. My eldest one always comes home with new knowledge and an expanded vocabulary. You can always rely on the head of the nursery and her staff that pro-actively tackle any requests, regarding the wellbeing of the children.

The nursery is well managed so parents can feel confident in their child’s care and supported. The staff are friendly and easy to communicate with. Parents are updated quarterly about their child’s progress, however, we receive daily updates when collecting our child. If there are any issues, parents
are contacted via the app and over the phone, if need be. Having the app makes me feel safer leaving my child in the care of another. I wish it could open earlier to fit in line with my job but I am happy with the opening hours all the same. The diet is very good and children are encouraged to drink water and have fruit throughout the day.

The team at the nursery are extremely approachable and always strive to meet the needs of parents and children. They know the children well, are very kind and build genuine relationships with them. There’s a good range of indoor and outdoor activities planned each day, and a variety of healthy food
is served. Communication is good, through the use of the app I can see when my child has napped, what they’ve eaten and also photos of activities they’ve completed.

We are very happy with the Butterfly Patch and all the lovely staff. My little 2-year-old girl loves it, she has been there for about 5 months. She comes home smiley, happy and chatting away about her day, filled with a variety of activities, which encompasses the seasons and cultural celebrations and
everything in-between. The staff and key workers are very responsive with any questions we have and constant with their updates on how she is doing. Any concerns are talked through with us, equally, we are told about successes throughout the day. I feel the Butterfly Patch is a very positive, nurturing space for little minds, we are very happy with how our little girl has settled in enjoying her time there.

Paige Pinder

Job Title: Area Manager Joined: 2018

Started my child care career when I finished school in 2009. I studied for two years at college whilst obtaining experience in a day nursery as part of my qualification I completed my experience and they offered me a permanent role.


Throughout my time I was given may different role which allowed my growth within the company including becoming the SENCO, Behaviour officer, room leader and third in charge. I worked with a range of children who had extremely complex needs giving me the experience of working closely with parents/carers and outside agencies.
During this time I also completed my Level 5 leadership and management in children and young people's services. I completed this course to help me further my career to management in child care.


In March 2015 I moved to Egypt for 12 months to work in a nursery. During this time I worked with a range of different families of cultures from around the world. I implemented the Early Years Foundation Stage ethos into the setting and was amazed to see how the children excelled and how much our families responded to the approach.


I returned back to the UK in April 2016 I became a manager of a brand new nursery. I was finally able to put all of my experience and knowledge into full practice. In this setting I achieved a "Good" Ofsted grade and continues to support the nursery and to staff to their full potential. I thrived of seeing not only the staff learn new things but the children excelling and being supported by such loving, caring and nurturing staff.


In November 2017 I decided that it was time to spread my wings, I had worked for the same company for my whole child care career in the UK and it was time to move on. This is when I found The Butterfly Patch.


I joined The Butterfly Patch in February 2018 at our Croydon setting. Our doors weren't even open. I took pride in helping to set up what is now a beautiful, inspiring and nurturing nursery and company.
Children are at the heart of everything we do, children’s welfare and safeguarding is central to all of our decision making. Our staff feel valued and supported from management.
In April 2019 I then transferred to the South Norwood setting to help launch and support the setting in the opening weeks. During this time I was also given a promotion to Area manager and now over see 5 Butterfly Patches
