Our grandson felt safe, secure and valued. He enjoyed the wide range of exciting and varied activities. He loved attending the nursery and made lots of friends. He enjoyed the meals and we were delighted with the quality of the food.
Family members were made very welcome at special and seasonal events.
Thank you -we are delighted to witness his development in your care.

My daughter has been at Chestnuts Nursery for the past 2 years, she settled quickly mainly due to the very caring and patient staff who should I have needed anything are always happy to help. It's a beautiful building with great outdoor spaces that my daughter enjoys along with the buggybus that allows
them to explore outside the nursery.

Our twins started in January 2024 at 16 months old, they settled in really quickly and really enjoy their time there. They eat and sleep well which is great for me as a parent to know and worry less about.
We like the daily updates with reference to food and sleep. We could see a few more photos -
but I understand that everyone is busy!

My little boy started Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicholas House at 9 months old and he has excelled since being enrolled.
The staff and management are so kind and caring and you can tell there is a real passion for early years education and childcare.
I didn't think I would feel comfortable
leaving my little boy but they really put me at ease and he loves being there too!
Smashing facilities too! Wouldn't want to send him anywhere else.

We were recommended Chestnut Nursery by a parent from the school where our older children go and it is a wonderful place for our child to come to. He loves being at nursery and all the staff are really lovely and they make us feel very assured that while he is at nursery, he is learning lots and having
fun. A big thanks to all of the team and we will recommend.

My child had been at home full-time for 3 years, so we were nervous about him starting at nursery as he was so used to being at home. From the initial meeting right through to now, the staff at Chestnuts have been fantastic. They have been so caring and have catered to his individual needs; he is loving
his days at nursery. We went to Chestnuts through a recommendation and we weren’t disappointed, can’t recommend highly enough!

My 3-year-old daughter absolutely loves going and is thriving from attending. The outdoor garden is absolutely beautiful, lots of play area and a forest area for the children to explore. The staff are all absolutely brilliant and always let me know what sort of day she has had and what activities they
have been doing. Would highly recommend any child to attend.

After I visited five local nurseries since I move out from North Walsham and saw how dirty they were, some didn't offer food, others asked for £45/week consumables, I realized how much it mattered that my son was at Chestnut Boutique Nursery School St Nicholas House. They have very high standards, cleanliness,
very nice staff who take care of my son and apparently the food is very good too since he eats all the time. All that being saying this made me register my son at Chestnut Research Park in Norwich even if it takes twenty minutes to get there. Thank you so much for everything.

Our boy joined this nursery last year. He was very happy from the beginning. The staff are superb, they look after our boy amazingly. We always pick him up very happily.
Sadly, we have to move to another city because of work and they totally understand our situation, making things quite easy for us.
Even we will finish a week early and they accepted.
If you are doubting what nursery to choose in North Walsham, please do not doubt anymore, Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicholas House is your nursery, your child will be well looked after and he/she will enjoy every moment.
Highly recommended! We wish to have the same one in the new city.

The manager and the rest of the team have been amazing since I first contacted Chestnut. Being a first-time mum, they could not have done anymore to make my little boys settling in sessions easy, reassuring me along the way and showing a real passion towards working with and caring for children. Their
facilities and outdoor space is second to none compared to any other nursery close by. Most importantly they went above and beyond catering for my little boy's allergies and intolerances, even managing to turn him into a fantastic eater!

From the moment I made contact with Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicholas House, I was impressed by the warmth, enthusiasm and professionalism of the team at the nursery. Settling sessions accommodated our needs which resulted in a smooth transition for our child. The information provided at
the start was excellent and the communication to date has continued in the same vain. For example, the management of a change in key worker was handled exceptionally well with clear communication in advance and plenty of support for our child during their transition. The staff are kind and energetic and set up lots of interesting activities for the children to keep them entertained and learning. Management care about each child's experience at the nursery. One of the biggest highlights for us is the nursery's outdoor space which is spectacular.

My daughter started in 2020 and although in the midst of Covid, the nursery was amazingly accommodating. We have found the team all so enthusiastic with a passion for childcare, it's made leaving our child in their hands so easy. After two and a half years they have really prepared our child for school,
supported her needs, encouraged her with friendship making and fuelled her confidence as well as fulfilling her desire to learn!
The nursery is absolutely stunning and with the addition of the new garden playground and facilities, it makes for a perfect setting.
As a parent, the communication via emails has been excellent and the management team are quick to respond to any worries/queries.
Overall, our experience has been outstanding and we will definitely be sending our newest addition here when the time comes. Thank you Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicholas House!

My daughter has been at the nursery since the covid rules allowed it. The staff and facilities are excellent. My daughter has thoroughly enjoyed herself and made a number of friends. She is a fussy eater but the staff still get her to eat well. The new garden that has been recently added is very good.

Our twins started at Chestnut Nursery around 3/4 months ago and are absolutely thriving there. They are always so happy to go in the mornings and it’s no surprise given the facilities and friendly/caring staff. The garden is absolutely incredible. Even though they are identical twins, they are treated
like individuals and the team always know who is who! We were invited to an Open Day at the nursery a few weeks ago and you could tell how much all the staff enjoy working at Chestnuts, my Partner and I were blown away by how welcoming everyone was and how much effort had been put into the day. A big thank you to all of you, we can’t imagine sending the girls anywhere else!

Our son started at Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicholas House in January of this year and so far we have been so pleased with the nursery. He has been happy and settled and it is so rewarding seeing the relationship between him and the team developing - he is so happy to be dropped off there
in the morning. We weren’t able to visit the nursery prior to him starting because of Covid, which was a really daunting thing, but the team were brilliant at keeping in contact with us to make the transition as easy as possible and the manager has been more than happy to answer all of our questions and put us at ease! They had an open day recently where we got to go in and look around the various rooms and the garden space - oh my god! I was blown away - it totally exceeded my expectations, it is such a smart nursery and the garden is just incredible! We are so happy to know he is being looked after so well and the environment is so lovely too!

Our daughter has thrived at Chestnut Boutique Nursery School, minus a small break (due to Covid), she's been at the nursery for over two years. All of the staff are so welcoming and friendly. The facilities are fantastic, we were lucky enough to look around, pre-Covid times, and the facilities are second
to none. We absolutely fell in love with the building, the garden, the resources and everyone we met. Our daughter is confident, sociable, friendly and everyone comments on how well she communicates (which I definitely credit to the amazing staff at the nursery!) thank you all so much.

My twins were at the nursery for nearly two years. I always found the team to be warm and welcoming and to make really positive relationships with the twins. Any challenges were dealt with in a really sensitive and developmentally aware way. Both of my children really enjoyed their time here and progressed
in many aspects of their development. They made some lovely, little friends and they really loved their networkers. I always found the managers and staff to be approachable and helpful.

My daughter has thrived during her time at Chestnut Boutique Nursery School @ St Nicolas House. She began as a timid 10-month-old, who hadn't met many adults or other children partly due to the pandemic. Now she is a confident, adventurous 21-month-old who smiles and waves at anyone she meets. My daughter
is clearly very relaxed and happy to be with the staff at nursery, this is because she trusts them.
In my view, the individuals (staff) who work with my daughter are outstanding. They are what make the atmosphere so warm and calm. They are consistently caring, patient and genuinely interested in my daughter having a good time while she is with them. The management are friendly and professional and are only a phone call away when I've needed them. Keep up the good work everyone at St Nicolas!

My son is so happy at the nursery, he loves seeing his key worker and both senior lead and the apprentice who also look after him, he comes home really happy and relaxed and is really happy to go into the nursery. They provide really good feedback throughout the days whilst he is there and are friendly
and informative when I collect him.
The nursery has been really willing to accommodate changes to my son's nursery schedule and I feel really confident that he receives good care and support whilst he is with them.
They have been really keen to be involved with his development and he has developed so much since starting there.
They are building a new outdoor space which I know will make my son's time at the nursery even better.

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.330)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.330) out of 10 for Chestnut Nursery School @ St Nicholas House is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.989 for Chestnut Nursery School @ St Nicholas House is calculated as follows: ( (94 Excellents x 5) + (1 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 95 Ratings = 4.989
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.341 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Nursery School @ St Nicholas House is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 74 number of registered child places is 14.8. 8 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.8 = 0.541
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
