The Orange Tree Day Nursery @ Derby

Our daughter has been coming here for some time now and we are really happy with the placement. We chose this nursery over others due to the overall feel, from facilities both indoor and outdoor, to the nature of the staff when we came for the first visit. Glad we followed our gut. Modern facilities, really nice outdoor spaces and the staff are really tentative to our daughter.

Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a new start at nursery or a change!

My daughter has been attending Orange Tree for almost a year now and she always has a fantastic time. She loves the staff and often asks for them when we're at home and she gets excited when we go to drop her off in the morning. The staff are exceptional in both care and educational purposes. The minor accidents she's had have been taken care of extremely professionally and the extra nurturing she's received have helped her develop at a fast rate. The administration team are always helpful and will help solve any issues you may have and the staff as a whole are always honest and happy to help you. I would happily recommend The Orange Tree to any parent who is trying to decide what nursery is best.

My return to work after maternity leave would have not been possible without The Orange Tree. We went to every nursery in the area and no other could compare to the value of what they provided, from beautiful rooms with a home feeling to happy and wonderful staff that have been like an extension of myself with my child, I always felt confident that my baby was safe and well looked after, together we saw her crawl, walk and run until she became the wonderful happy girl she is which is reflection of the hard work and love of the staff who have been like a family to her. Management is supportive, you can go and talk to them about anything and they will go above and beyond the extra mile to support your family. As a working parent it has no price to know how my child was during the day, if she ate, how much she slept, what she learned, and seeing pictures of her just was so special to us and gave us a sense of reassuring to know that we made the right nursery choice.

Lovely staff across all rooms. My child is currently in the Caterpillar Room and every day he's there he is so happy. His key worker gives great feedback and is always very welcoming in the mornings. He gets lovely observations and his development has come along so nicely since being there. The staff have close relationships with families and treat the children with such care and respect. You can tell they really care about the children they're looking after and about their development. The daily diaries have good detail on how he has been throughout the day and if you have any worries staff are always there to help you. Overall a lovely nursery and a great team!

Always welcomed by caring, smiley, and cheerful staff who genuinely care for the children. The team take an active interest in our little boys’ hobbies and his interests and give valuable feedback at the end of the day. A professional yet approachable team. Thanks for all you do.

We are kept informed all the time and truly do feel as though we can fully trust the staff when we hand him over. We have never once worried or fretted about our decision to send him here and I think that is so important when you choose to place your child in nursery.

I also love the food selection and the outdoor gardens, as my son loves exploring the outdoors.

We are so happy that our youngest son attends The Orange Tree Day Nursery, he adores the workers in his room! He goes in smiling and comes home smiling too. All of the staff are wonderful!

We have been very impressed with the level of care that our child receives at The Orange Tree Day Nursery @ Derby. The emphasis on the development of skills and behaviours is fantastic. The staff are dedicated and kind and our child has been able to build an excellent rapport with each key worker. Communication via the app or email is very good - we receive daily updates about what the class has been up to, meals and nap times. Roughly weekly we get a lovely individual report of something our child has enjoyed with photos. There is also a regular parent's evening to touch base or address concerns. I have also been reassured by the level of security and safeguarding at the nursery. I would definitely recommend this nursery to other parents.

This nursery is amazing! The staff are so friendly and make you and the child feel so welcome. My child loves going here and always goes in with a smile. The staff are so good with the children and are always smiling.

My son has now been at nursery for just over a year and has moved from starting in the baby room to caterpillars and is now in butterflies. Every single member of staff has welcomed him and me with open arms, whether that's his care workers in his room, the staff on reception or the cleaners, everyone has been so warm and welcoming. When he first joined the nursery at the end of lockdown he found the transition quite hard but now happily goes to nursery and is excited to see his friends and the staff. Thank you for helping to make this happen!

It is a nice experience, my daughter loves it and to be fair this is the most important thing I think. They are really caring people and support you at their best. I wish it was more affordable though but this is not really the nursery's decision, more or less it is the same range in the UK.

This is one of the best nurseries in Derby. The staff are the most helpful and amazing. They are very kind and that is reflected on my daughter's relationship with her caregivers. She's always happy to go to nursery and she has a great time there. She learns a lot as they do lots of educational and fun activities. The nursery has shown great support and flexibility due to special health circumstances (mums) and they provided help when needed. I cannot thank them enough for making my daughter happy and looking after her during difficult times it really means a lot. As for my experience, I definitely recommend this nursery.

My daughter has been at Orange Tree from birth up to aged 4 when she leaves for school. I have nothing but praise for the nursery, the staff are wonderful and the nursery provides a fun, caring place for my daughter to learn.

The Orange Tree Day Nursery has created an amazing home from home environment for my daughter. They have supported all areas of her development and have gone above and beyond in their care and support of her. My daughter has been at the nursery for nearly 2 years since she was 10 months old. We have loved the way she has been able to grow with the nursery. The staff are incredible, always friendly and helpful. They are excellent at communication and provide varied learning themes every day. We looked around a few nurseries before settling on the Orange Tree but haven't regretted our decision at all. Most importantly; our daughter loves it and is excited to attend every day.

I really can't recommend this nursery enough, they are brilliant with babies and children. My little one started nursery when he was 10 months old and he's just learnt so much from then to now. I really can’t praise this lovely nursery highly enough. My son started here in September 2021 and I’ve always been impressed by what the nursery offers. It’s very clean, the food is delicious (to the point where my son is often distinctly nonplussed by my offerings!) and the facilities are excellent: lots of toys and activities and (best of all!) chickens and guinea pigs to fuss over! All of this is important but what makes this nursery is the staff. Caring for very young children isn’t easy, but the staff do it with such warmth and love and kindness that it really does shine through. I have never had the impression that caring for my son is just a job for them. It feels very much as if I am dropping him off to his own family, such is the level of care he receives. I’m always impressed with their patience, their knowledge of individual children and their love. I warmly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for care for their child.

Our son looks forward to going to nursery and gets excited to see his keyworker. And we have felt very reassured and happy knowing how content he is at nursery. The admin staff always respond swiftly and respectfully. We would definitely recommend this nursery to others.

We have been very happy with how our daughter has got on in her first two months. She is a year old. The staff in the room are very warm, and my daughter has responded really well to them, after being a lockdown baby with little exposure to others. The management is very responsive and helpful. They are very communicative and efficient in sending us information on our daughter’s day. They were very helpful and responsive when I asked for dietary changes. The nursery, itself, is very bright and well and newly decorated and has a homely feel. We would wholly recommend The Orange Tree to others in the area who are choosing a nursery.
