Perfect Start at Haywards Heath is wonderful. Our child loves it there. The staff are fantastic, and they are so good at keeping in touch with parents. The facilities are great. Would give it more stars if I could!

An all-round fantastic nursery with wonderful staff! My daughter has had some mobility issues due to a temporary condition and the staff could not do enough to help her and make her feel comfortable and involved! She always has a fantastic time and has learnt so much I am amazed every time we collect
her. Food is wonderful and the equipment is second to none.
Very pleased that we chose Perfect Start Day Nursery and fully expect my daughter to be there for years to come!

From the first moment we walked into the nursery we knew this was the place for our son. The venue itself is well equipped and welcoming. The staff are always smiling and attentive and nothing is too much trouble. It’s such a relief to drop your child off for the day knowing he will have a great time
always.

If you want your child prepared for school...choose somewhere else!
We had our son here from age 2.5 up to preschool. He has come out developmentally delayed by some stretch and is now having to repeat reception. Some of that may just be how he is, but some of the fault can certainly be put with Perfect
Start. We found the preschool room is not strictly made up of children that were preschool ages, ie. 3-4 but younger and there were too many kids to assistant ratios so I'm not sure how much 1:1 time he got... if any, he was often left to his own devices to play all day. High turnover of staff, there were 4 different managers during our time there and countless different assistants, mostly young and inexperienced.
When it came to his time to leave Perfect Start, despite them marking him as passing all areas of the EYFS, he could not pick up or use a pencil! I'm not entirely sure what they are doing in preschool but it's certainly not preparing them for school.
Would not recommend.

My daughter has been coming here since she was 1 and is now in the younger toddler room. She absolutely loves it and always comes home very happy (and exhausted!)
The staff are all amazing and it’s lovely to see how my daughter interacts with everyone. What with Covid it’s done her the world of good
and her speech etc has come on so much. She even learnt sign language early on so was able to communicate with us from an early age. The younger toddler room has increased her confidence in playing with others and learning how to share.
Can’t recommend the staff/nursery highly enough - they all know my daughter by name and I don’t feel guilty leaving her there as I know she’s in great hands and having lots of fun.

I think this is a fantastic nursery. My daughter is currently in the younger toddlers room and it is a great place for her to make friends, learn and develop. I feel like all of the staff know the children really well, and they seem to genuinely enjoy looking after them. All of the activities they set
up look great and my daughter always comes home chatting about them, or singing new songs that she has learned.


The sign language that is taught has also been great as it has helped my daughter learn to communicate much more effectively as she learns to talk. It has made a huge difference.


I think all of the staff, from management through to the team in the room, do a really good job and I really appreciate all of the effort that they put in.

I cannot recommend Perfect Start Haywards Heath enough! I have one child in Pre-School and one in Under 2s and I have been incredibly happy with the nursery since my eldest started 3 years ago. We moved 30 minutes away and still drive the boys to Perfect Start because we don’t think anywhere else could
match the facilities and wonderful staff. The range of activities they plan for all ages is phenomenal - no two days at the nursery are ever the same and the children’s interests are always catered for. They are well cared for and happy and as parents, we appreciate the regular updates, Facebook posts and communication we receive. Thank you Perfect Start for all you do!

My 11-month-old daughter has been going to the nursery for almost 4 months now and we absolutely love it. It's wonderful seeing our daughter getting excited about going to the nursery and jumping to hug her carers in the morning.


The staff are always friendly and welcoming and they really make an

effort to get to know each child. They have a multitude of activities ready for them every day and I love that they are allowed to get messy. The pictures posted on ParentZone are a plus and they always make my day. She's learning so many new things that have a positive effect on her. She has become more confident and sociable and I have the staff to thank for that, for how supportive and encouraging they are.


The rooms are separated according to age but not isolated so that the staff can help each other out. I have only experienced the under two's room and am happy it's a stimulating and playful environment, a place where I can leave my little one and know she's safe and well looked after.

Absolutely tremendous nursery, I couldn’t recommend it highly enough. We moved to the area, which meant a new start for our two toddlers and the team couldn’t have been friendlier to make our kids feel welcome. All of the team are so caring and patient with the children. The nursery has such a lovely
feel and I’m particularly jealous of the food each time I pick the kids up.

Both of our children attend Perfect Start (in the baby room and older toddlers) and they absolutely love it. As soon as they each started they settled really quickly and built great bonds with all the staff, not just their key workers. Every member of staff seems to know their names and genuinely cares
for them both.


They're teaching our kids so much and really helping us as parents to make sure that they're flourishing and doing their best. The management team is amazing, and always there when we need them. They've also been excellent at keeping us up to date with changes during the pandemic.


The food is always nutritious and creative and they enjoy the meals there.


Most importantly, they're both extremely happy there and though they're full time seem to always be smiling and laughing when we pick them up at the end of the day.


I can't rate the entire team highly enough.

My son has felt happy and settled since day one. His key worker and all the ladies in his room know everything about him and I love that he goes up to them for hugs when we arrive in the morning. What’s so lovely is everyone knows him so well even in the older rooms, it feels like one big happy family.
There are always lots of different activities set up for the kids and I love getting pictures of all the fun things my son gets up to throughout the day. He absolutely loves the food, which is healthy and varied. Since starting he has learnt so much, he comes home singing and is saying lots of words, as well as using sign language, they clearly spend a lot of time engaging with him throughout the day, he comes home so happy!

Our daughter has been at the nursery for nearly two years and she has always loved going.
She is currently in the toddlers room and gets excited, telling us the names of all the staff she is going to see and play with, as well as all her friends. The staff are really friendly and helpful and you can
see that they love what they do, ensuring the children feel relaxed with them and enjoy their time there while still learning. We have signed our son up as well and we would not think to go anywhere else. The only thing I would recommend is having more variety for the meals and changing the plans more frequently.

Having looked around a large number of nurseries, I can confidently say that none of the nursery settings in Haywards Heath come close to what Perfect Start Day Nursery - Haywards Heath can offer. The facilities are stylish, clean and functional with toys and equipment that is high quality, providing
the perfect environment for children to learn and have fun in. What really makes the difference in this nursery is the staff. A special mention to one member of staff, who has been my sons key worker since he joined. His key worker is full of enthusiasm, professionalism and energy. Another member of staff takes a very genuine interest in the children and is always a pleasure to talk to on pick ups. I would recommend this nursery wholeheartedly, each morning my son can’t wait to spend the day with his friends and I am so grateful to the staff for all that they do.

I can't recommend Perfect Start Day Nursery - Haywards Heath strongly enough. By the end of my son's first week he was desperate to get in there in the morning! The team have all been absolutely wonderful, they take so much time and care over all of the children and spend a long time chatting to each
parent at the end of the day, telling us how the day has been and what the children have been up to. I drop my son off in the morning with one hundred percent confidence that he will be wonderfully looked after and that he will have loads of fun. He is so happy at the end of the day after having such a great time and that is just the best feeling. Well done to all the team for doing such a fantastic job!

We knew this was the nursery for us before even viewing. The staff are so lovely, enthusiastic and friendly. The nursery setting itself is fantastic, with a great amount of space, different rooms and the garden. We get regular updates on activities taking place, along with pictures through the app.
There is also now a Facebook group too. Our daughter absolutely loves going to nursery. She kicks her legs with excitement each morning - it is an absolute joy to see. She has come on leaps and bounds developmentally since starting. The staff have been outstanding in regards to implementing and communicating all changes regarding Covid too.

Great nursery, lovely setting, really friendly staff who tailor the days to meet the individual needs of the kids. My children absolutely love going there and tell me all about the activities they’ve done and what they’ve eaten. I’d highly recommend to anyone with preschool-age kids.

My 15 month old son attends the nursery and has done so since summer 2020. The staff, facilities and management are superb. My son absolutely loves the nursery and is excited to go every single day. Job Title: Nursery Manager

Hi, I’m Katy, the joint manager at Haywards Heath, and I’ve been part of Kids Planet (formerly Perfect Start) for six years. I started as a practitioner in our Under 2’s Room and have since worked my way up to Room Leader, then Deputy, and finally Nursery Manager in October 2022. It’s been amazing to watch the nursery grow and evolve over the years, and I’ve loved being able to help shape its future since joining the management team

Bethany is the Joint Nursery Manager for our Haywards Heath Day Nursery. I have been a nursery Manager at the Haywards Heath setting since 2022, after coming back from having my little boy. I am delighted to be a part of our outstanding OFSTED rating in May 2025, and I can't wait to see where the setting can go from here.
