Little Pioneers Nursery & Pre-School Seaham was refurbished in 2022!

Welcome to Little Pioneers Seaham, where children use their imagination and explore excellent, safe indoor and outdoor environments to promote learning.

The trustworthy staff ensure the children feel like home with personalised plans, designed to fully support the child at all levels of learning and allowing them to develop at their own pace.

The nursery has its own chef cooking homemade meals each day with special options for each age group. The meals are based on the season to keep the food fresh.

The nursery is able to prepare and store bottles of expressed milk as well, covered by their fees.

This nursery is lovely, homely and welcoming. Staff are always very pleasant, caring, kind and hard-working in the most gentle way. For this reason I chose to place my son here instead of moving him to the 'outstanding' nursery school that my daughter was attending! I preferred it for him here! Even
at times when my son has been a little teary on the morning they have completely turned his feelings around and he happily runs in every morning. Even though he is not yet 3yrs old I trust these people enough to drop him off for four full days per week and he is happy with that. That means a lot coming from me! Finally the support we have received in helping him to toilet train at 2 and learn to speak, and mark-make is fantastic. Thank you all!

My child has come leaps and bounds since joining the nursery. They give me regular updates and it's great to see how well my child is settling in.
Reason for the 4* score: My child is fussy and doesn't like certain foods and refuses to eat it which was communicated when my child joined. I did say
to keep trying however they haven't provided an alternative option to eat and my child does come home really hungry. Also coats are kept outside and when it rained one day my child's coat was soaked through and my child was unable to wear it. I understand this was because they were unable to dry their coats on this day and I understand the nursery workers are busy. I have now provided snacks and pack an extra coat, just incase!

My little girl has settled into nursery brilliantly, she has created secure attachments with staff. Lovely nursery and lovely staff! The staff are very attentive, and they give my son the attention he needs. He's been there almost two years now, and from the beginning, he was struggling with separation; they did everything they could to make him feel cared for and surrounded with love and cuddles,
which is exactly what he needed, and I felt settled knowing he was safe. He comes home telling me he's been trying and eating new things at lunchtime (things I didn't expect him to like or wouldn't try at home). I can't thank them all enough. I'll be devastated when he moves on to school.

We brought our son to this nursery after previously attending another nursery placement. He was having problems with his speech and within a year of hard work from staff at Little Pioneers, focusing on 1 to 1 time and even helping us to bring in a speech and language therapist he has developed his speech
amazingly. Every little accomplishment he has made has been massively praised. His confidence and little character has never been something he's struggled with but since being at this nursery he has flourished in every aspect. We can't thank the nursery enough for how much time they have devoted to his learning and development.

Both my daughter and my son have attended this nursery after the abrupt closure of the nursery they did attend. Staff found them a space and made both children welcome, making the transition incredibly easy. My son and daughter both adore the nursery and although my daughter is now at school, she still
loves to visit. My baby is constantly being well looked after, he does various activities throughout the day, he's fed to a high standard and the girls always make a fuss of him. I'd not go anywhere else and recommend the place to anyone. I travel a distance to get here and don't quibble at all it's well worth the trek. Exceptionally grateful for the love and peace of mind.

My daughter has been attending since April 2022 and loves it. I was worried she would struggle to settle only attending 1 day a week but she settled so fast. The staff have taken time to get to know her and genuinely seem pleased to see her and interested to hear what she has been up to. We love being
invited in for parties so we can see her in the nursery environment. Would highly recommend.

My son has loved being at nursery since his first day. The staff are kind and friendly. They keep me up to date with his progress. The room is always full of interesting things to do. Amazing nursery, my son is always excited to go and has a lovely day. The staff are always so friendly and give detailed updates upon pickup. Recently we have began potty training and the staff couldn't be more helpful, its nice to get tips and advice from their experiences too.

My son loves attending nursery! He is so happy and is constantly learning new things, I want to give a special shout-out to his Nursery Worker! She is amazing at what she does and makes him feel like he is at home! She is always there to welcome him and sends me such lovely pictures and observations.
The girls all work so hard and always have a big smile when we arrive to drop him off.

We have been so impressed by the staff at Little Pioneers. They clearly know our child really well and take her likes and dislikes into account when planning activities and interacting with her. I've developed a strong bond with the girls who care for my daughters. They are extremely professional but also very down to earth. The role they play in my daughters day to day care is just fantastic. There is always some new skill they come home with and it's reassuring for me as a parent to know
my girls are safe, well looked after and are thriving. This is down to the Manager and her amazing team.
