The nursery has a dedicated and approachable team of early years educators who take time to understand each child as an individual. By observing children closely and planning meaningful activities, supporting progress across all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage, helping children to develop strong communication, social skills, and early learning foundations.
Lydgate pre-school places a great importance on building positive relationships with families, recognising parents and carers as children’s first educators. By celebrating milestones and sharing children’s learning and achievements working in partnership to ensure every child feels valued, supported, and ready to thrive.
Morning sessions run from 8.45 am to 11.45 am, and afternoon sessions run from 12 pm to 3 pm. An additional 15 minutes can be purchased for £2.50.

Families accessing government-funded childcare hours are not charged for extras such as consumables, learning resources, or activities. However, a contribution is asked towards snacks and meals, which is entirely voluntary for families accessing funded hours.

Late pick-up charges are: £20 for the first 15 minutes, £10 for every additional 5 minutes thereafter
Refundable Deposit
The nursery does not charge a registration fee. However, families who are paying fees are required to pay a deposit to secure their child's place. This deposit is fully refundable and will be deducted from your final invoice, provided the required notice period has been given and all terms of the agreement have been met. Full details of the deposit and notice requirements will be provided during the enrolment process to ensure complete transparency and peace of mind for families.

My son has settled really well into nursery with no tears at all! This is his first time in a childcare setting and it's all down to the staff, they are welcoming and approachable and my son is very comfortable being there. The setting has a wide range of fabulous resources available for the children to explore (they are getting chicks in soon!) and the outdoor area is fantastic. From the mud kitchen to the playhouse, large sand area and plenty of toys for physical and social development. The manager and the deputy are both very friendly and easy to talk to, any queries I have are addressed immediately either face to face or through the Famly app which is simple and easy to use.

It has been an excellent start for my two-year-old. My experience here at Lydgate Pre-School has been fantastic! Being a worried and anxious parent, the staff and atmosphere have been friendly and amazing, and the support given is 110%, being a passive and happy environment for us as parents and our child. She has a very good relationship with her Keyworkers and I believe this is due to how approachable, kind and caring the staff are. Facilities are great, loads of development activities and ideal location for us.
Our daughter really enjoys her sessions at nursery and has learnt a great deal. I would definitely recommend Lydgate Pre-School!
