I am so glad we chose Poppies Day Nursery for our son's nursery, he loves going and we can see the development in his speech and actions such as tidying away at home. All the staff are brilliant and genuinely care about the children's well-being. Our son is so happy when he sees them approach the door
as he arrives each day. The facilities are also great with an open door policy to playing outside in all weather along with a great selection of toys and books indoors. They also make an effort to provide lots of events such as dress-up days, parent's evenings, sports days, grandparent's day etc. Would highly recommend the nursery to anyone!

Our children have been at Poppies for over two years, with our eldest recently starting school, where she is now thriving thanks to the foundations she built at nursery. Both have always been very happy at the nursery and loved their room leaders and key carers. The management team are excellent and
supports families, and all staff are knowledgeable and approachable, with a brilliant core team who have been with the nursery for a long time and are heavily invested in its success. You can tell they take pride in providing a nurturing and engaging setting for the children who leave well-prepared for school. The recent meadow project is also a great connection with the community!

We were invited to the nursery for grandparent's morning. We were welcomed at the door by a very pleasant manager who gave us a very warm welcome. We were offered a lovely selection of breakfast dishes and warm drinks by one of the nursery staff. Escorted to see our granddaughter at play and meet the
staff who were well informed about all the children. What a lovely way to spend a morning. Thank you all.

We were delighted to attend a grandparent's breakfast morning yesterday at Poppies nursery. The event was an opportunity to see both our grandchildren for the first time there. We were very impressed looking around the rooms and all the different activities on display and the creativity of the displays

A very welcoming atmosphere greeted me at my grandparents' breakfast today. Reunited with my granddaughter I was instantly struck by the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. It is evident that she is in a caring and ordered environment in which she is clearly settled and happy. I was able
to see the various spaces both inside and out available to her as well as those in earlier and later years. I was impressed by the range of educational and creative stimuli which will no doubt equip her for later years in school.

Our son has recently started at Poppies and we have seen so much progress in his development. The staff are really on the ball with making sure every opportunity is a learning opportunity and he clearly has a fun time at nursery. We are very happy with all the staff who are very reassuring to us as

Having spent the last six months at home with me, my daughter was naturally apprehensive to be left for the day, as was I! We couldn't be happier with Poppies! After the (expected) tears with the settling in period our little one is now walking to the door and going in with a smile on her face and barely a look back at us!
The staff are so lovely and friendly and consider everything to make sure you are comfortable with
your baby being dropped off there.
The nursery itself is great and it is so great that there is outdoor space for all ages (with littler ones having a separate one to use upstairs attached to their baby room) and it is used as much as possible in all sorts of weather!
Communication from the nursery is great and the managers are so involved and helpful. No issues with the admin side of things which we've heard can be a sticking point in other local nurseries.
They make a real effort to keep parents involved with parents' evenings, mothers/fathers' day teas and even a sports day coming up!

This is the first time our 2-year-old son goes to a nursery regularly and we are very happy that we chose Poppies Day Nursery. We are surprised to see how quickly he gets comfortable with the nursery. Teachers are very patient and all staff always carry positive energy. Our son is happy every day when
we pick him up and he has progressed a lot in his learning and social skills. We feel he is taken care of very well. I would recommend this nursery.

Our daughter has been with Poppies since the baby room and is now in preschool. She has always really enjoyed her time there and we have always felt the members of staff go above and beyond in the care they provide. She took a while to settle into preschool but the recent changes made and the new plans
for the room and for her learning have really helped. I was very impressed recently looking around the room and all the different activities on display and the creativity of the displays around the room to improve the nursery experience. Thank you to the manager and the rest of the management team and for the Practitioners in the room who are all doing a great job; Ellie and Sarah have been fantastic since joining.

My son has been at Poppies since November last year. It has been great - they have been clear about my son's development if there are any issues and where he is doing really well.


Most recently the nursery put on a mother's day tea. This was a great opportunity to go into the nursery and observe/play

with my son! He showed me his favourite bits (unfortunately he has a love of bugs but never mind) and it demonstrated how the nursery accommodates all of the children's needs and interests.


More generally, what I really will praise the nursery for is their communication of upcoming events etc. so you are able to plan and manage life effectively.

Our daughter has been with Poppies for 9 months and moved from the baby room to toddlers recently. We were delighted recently to attend a Mother's Day celebration hosted by the preschool at Poppies nursery. The event was an opportunity to see the children in situ for the first time in a while due to Covid restrictions, and it was evident that they loved enjoying the indoor and outdoor space. The
whole event was an example of the positive relationships that Poppies have fostered with both parents and children, and the thoughtfulness and kindness that has characterised our experience of Poppies to date.

This is an amazing nursery my son started at 8 months in the baby nest and settled in straight away the staff are amazing kind and caring and he loves them all. He is always happy to go in in the mornings and the feedback at the end of the day is great as well as the daily reports on EYlog.

Excellent nursery, I have nothing but praise for them. Exceptional caring and friendly staff. We are overwhelmed with all the support and love my 4 years old autistic son has been given in the past 3 years and we really appreciate it. He is receiving a lot of 1:1 support and they are also providing
a wide range of delicious, healthy, nutritional gluten and dairy-free meals for him.
My 2 years old daughter is also absolutely thriving there. They both love and enjoy the variety of fun activities, and garden play and come home very happy after a busy day at the nursery.
I would highly recommend it to everyone.

I am really impressed with the amount my child (15months) is learning, as well as the amount of activities and engagement the nursery has with cultural events. The staff are always happy to answer any questions I have and all seem to enjoy their work. So glad I chose this nursery, the manager is doing

We are very pleased with the care our daughter is receiving at Poppies in Maidenhead. She is supported in her learning progress and we very much appreciate the feedback provided by staff, in-person and online. Staff always make themselves available and we are very much impressed by their energy and
creativity. Our daughter is always happy to come to the nursery and every morning opens her arms to give them a cuddle and greet them, which for us says it all!

Donna Bagley

Job Title: Deputy Manager Joined: 2013

Hi, I’m Donna and have been part of the Poppies family since January 2013 and have supported the team in developing Poppies Old Windsor and now Poppies Maidenhead. I started off my career within Poppies as Deputy Manager before being promoted to Assistant Manager in August 2017.


Since August 2018, I have led the team at Poppies Maidenhead as Nursery Manager. I hold a Level 4 qualification in Early Years and have extensive experience educating and caring for young children, particularly babies. I have two grown up children of my own and also a young granddaughter.


Since October 2021, I have taken on the role of Deputy Manager at Poppies Maidenhead.
