The Old Station Nursery Houlton is a purpose-built setting that caters to families living or working nearby. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Each child has their own designated room that caters to their developmental needs. Babies start on the ground floor in their own room, complete with an array of play resources including musical instruments, mirrors, and toys to aid their learning and development. The toddlers room offers a range of exciting activities such as sensory play, imaginative play, and the use of natural resources to keep the children engaged.

Once children progress to Pre-School, they have more structured opportunities for learning through play and child-led activities, with a focus on preparing them for a seamless transition to school.

There is also plenty of outdoor space, with regular trips to the local community.

The staff at The Old Satiation Nursery are amazing! They are so kind and caring and generally care about the well-being and happiness of our children. My daughter took a long time to settle, as I changed from being a stay at home Mum, and the staff were so loving and patient with her, now she is thriving,
so confident and has learnt so much too! All learning is done through play and is made so fun that the children don’t even realise they are learning. I have already signed my youngest child up for September, I couldn’t imagine him going anywhere else.

Excellent preschool for my child, who has been attending since the very beginning. The staff are very accommodating to all her needs, and our daughter has made really good progress. Ever smiling and energetic staff even when you meet them towards the end of the day.

My little girl absolutely loves her days at Houlton Nursery. We were worried about settling her into a new preschool after moving, but the team were so lovely and really made us feel at ease and after seeing how much she enjoyed it, we knew she was getting so much out of the experience.
The daily
updates and progress reports are really good to have, and the app makes it so easy to use. We can even put things we have been learning about or activities at home, which help build her development report and help the team engage with her on activities outside of the nursery.
The team are really friendly, approachable and listen to any concerns you have, the support we have had, tips and advice have helped so much!
I would really recommend the nursery, the facilities and staff - I feel are 5*.

My daughter attends the nursery at Houlton, and my son previously attended before he started school in September 2020. The staff at the nursery are fantastic; they all genuinely care for the children and focus on nurturing and developing the children whilst having loads of fun. My daughter has grown
in confidence in the past 12-months and has been given extra support with her speech development, which I’m very grateful for. Leaving my daughter in the nursery for long days, often 8 am until after 5 pm, is a lot easier knowing she’s with the wonderful staff there, and I know she’ll have a great time.

Friendly staff and amazing facilities. My daughter has been going to Houlton nursery since September 2020, and she loves being there. Staff are very friendly, and the activities they do at pre-school are amazing. Kids have access to the outdoor play area and forest school. They provide a seasonal menu
with a wide variety of food to choose from. The best part about this nursery is it is separate from the school, but very much part of the school community and children benefit from the outdoor school play area as well. Would highly recommend this nursery. Thanks to all the amazing staff at Houlton nursery.

Our son has really progressed with his learning this year and loves attending to the point where he’ll ask to go during the weekend. It’s our last morning session at Houlton Nursery, my daughter has loved every moment she has spent here. We are sad that it’s ending, but she has been so well prepared for school by the staff, that transition has been seamless. Even though our school is different, we will be back to school club with
the manager and all of her wonderful staff in the holidays! We consider The Old Station Nursery team as family, they have loved our daughter, she has been known so well, heard, encouraged and nurtured into the kind, compassionate and confident little lady we see every day. Both of my sons have attended the nursery, and we’ve seen it grow from day one with only a handful of children through to the thriving nursery it is today. The staff have always been amazing and supportive and (I had fantastic support with special needs). The children enjoy lots of fun activities and
plenty of outside play. My sons have both loved being there; which says everything - it’s real peace of mind.

My son goes here full time, he has loved being there and adores all the members of staff. They make sure the children get outdoors as much as they can and they are always having fun when I come to collect at the end of the day. They have an online system where they send you photos and updates, it's
lovely to see pictures of what they have been up to. There are regular parents evenings to discuss your child's development.
Overall, it really is a lovely small nursery and would absolutely recommend it.
