The Old Station Nursery Houlton is a purpose-built setting that caters to families living or working nearby. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

Each child has their own designated room that caters to their developmental needs. Babies start on the ground floor in their own room, complete with an array of play resources including musical instruments, mirrors, and toys to aid their learning and development. The toddlers room offers a range of exciting activities such as sensory play, imaginative play, and the use of natural resources to keep the children engaged.

Once children progress to Pre-School, they have more structured opportunities for learning through play and child-led activities, with a focus on preparing them for a seamless transition to school.

There is also plenty of outdoor space, with regular trips to the local community.

Staff have been understanding of my daughter's needs and very supportive to get the EHC Needs Assessment application in. My daughter has started to talk and I have seen staff encouraging her to say different words, which has been so encouraging.

The nursery is such a lovely environment, I have not had any problems since my child first started, and the staff are polite and friendly, always someone there to help if needed, the door at the nursery is great a lot of variety.

The Old Station Nursery has amazing staff members and they are very helpful. I also consider the environment secure enough for my little one.
The nursery also looks super clean at all times which is commendable considering they work around kids daily.

My daughter has been there for over two years. Has had about 5-6 key workers in this time which has made it extremely difficult to bond with anyone. Received funding when she turned 3 years old yet still get invoices charging £9 for a half day and £18 for a full day for food which I have no alternative
but to pay! No option for packed lunch as you still have to pay the charge regardless. On the whole a good nursery but due to the lack of availability in the area people are being forced to pay these prices. Do not even provide branded cereals or any other premium activities or gifts which my daughter has brought home. Would expect a lot more considering the costs involved glad she's leaving and starting reception soon, might be able to start saving some money. Those who receive the 30 hours of funding need to be aware of the additional costs involved.

The first one-hour session, our daughter was soaked through. She was ill after this.
I went to collect them, they were in a different class, the kids weren’t ready for me to collect. I walked into the upstairs room and our daughter popped out from a desk by herself shocked that I was there. I couldn’t
see our son, I was shouting him. I got no help from staff standing around, our son heard me and he came running to me from a window ledge that he was sitting on by himself. I then had to go back downstairs and get their bags, coats, Easter bonnets (which were on a window ledge) then get the kids to find their cups, with no help whatsoever from the staff. Anyway, we have taken them out. We don’t think that nursery is suitable for our kids. We expected the kids to be ready and waiting for us to collect them but that didn’t happen here. All I can say as a mother, if you love your kids don’t put them in here. (Not enough characters to do a full review) We were disappointed with this nursery!

Wonderful nursery with fantastic teachers. The staff are so thoughtful, and there is always brilliant communication. The facilities are amazing, and there is a great range of activities for the children to get involved in. Highly recommend it.

Everyone in the nursery is caring. My daughter learned a lot since she started going to nursery. Every day she is excited to go to nursery. Plenty of toys are available to play and kids can enjoy and learn.
Overall, I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a caring and stimulating
environment for their child. The staff, facilities and overall atmosphere were all top-notch and I felt confident that any child would thrive in such a positive and supportive environment.

Amazing nursery that puts the child's safety and well-being on top of all.
Staff are lovely and they put so much effort into teaching the kid little things while he is playing. From good manners to counting to other learnings, I can't thank them enough.

My son first joined The Old Station Nursery when it first opened up in 2021. We did move him from another nursery for a number of reasons and we haven’t looked back since. My daughter now attends the same nursery but in the older babies room and we are ever so thrilled with the high level of care and
attention that the nursery gives to the children. The staff are very approachable and deal with any issues straight away. My daughter and son always come back full of smiles and tell us what they have been doing or what they have learnt during that day. Thank you The Old Station Nursery for making it such a warm, friendly atmosphere for our kids.

My son started at the nursery in March and I was so shocked at how quickly and well he settled. He’s made such amazing connections and relationships with the staff, who have bent over backwards to learn and know everything about him to make his experiences 10/10. Nothing is ever too much for them and
he loves being at nursery, to the extent he will happily go to them in the morning. They have made my experience of returning to work so much more easier knowing he’s in such caring hands. The staff in babies 1 are outstanding and deserve endless amounts of recognition for their hard work and dedication to the children, it’s like a giant family not just childcare. Thank you! X

The staff are incredibly friendly and caring. They really do have my child's interest at heart and have really focussed their energy on helping her settle in. I would love for them to send app updates in a timely manner, not at the end of the day though.

Our children absolutely love their time at Old Station Nursery. The learning experiences, fun, activities and efforts to go the extra mile really do shine! The nursery has outstanding rooms and a great outdoor play area. All the staff greet us daily with big smiles! We would highly recommend it.

The staff are brilliant and all seem very caring towards the children. Lots of nice activities going on throughout the day. Management and room transitions need work, there is no good transitional period between room changes. Communication with management is patchy and inconsistent.

We love sending our child here and they love going! The staff are so friendly they have lots going on and it’s lovely to see. Would definitely recommend it. The nursery is clean they have great outdoor spaces for the children to play in and they are in a great location.

Have had a lovely experience with the Old Station in Houlton. Staff are always upbeat and accommodating. My daughter loves the sessions, they have helped her grow and supported us with potty training. I’m glad we got a spot and couldn’t recommend it more.

Friendly and welcoming staff from day one. My child’s key worker learnt about his interests fast and brought these into the activities. Updates are sent with pictures, meals, nappies, sleep and developmental areas, which is a nice touch and keep you informed on your child’s day and progress. A lovely
