Jesters Childcare has a fantastic purpose-built nursery and pre-school on the outskirts of the city of Chelmsford nestled right next to the Beaulieu Park School, the first 'Through School' in Essex!

The nursery has three large bright and airy rooms dedicated to nurturing babies; curious toddlers; and preparing for smooth transitions to school in the Deer Pre-School Classroom.

Jesters’ play spaces are innovative and mentally stimulating. They are thoughtfully and professionally designed to be highly enabling for children to develop whilst having fun. Beaulieu is blessed with a large wrap around garden outdoor play space which is utilised whatever the weather.

If I could give more than 5 stars - I would! Choosing to send our child to Jesters was the best decision we made. From his first day, we've felt nothing but warmth, support and love from all the staff there. I truly believe that the staff and the other children at Jesters has contributed to our son's
beautifully outgoing and confident personality.


Jesters helped support us with our son's nap schedule changes, his appetite, toilet training and his constant need to be on the move. The patience each and every one of the staff member has been incredible.


For anyone researching nurseries in the area, Jesters wholeheartedly has my vote! I'd not change a single thing about the setting. They're all heroes :)

Jesters at Beaulieu is a brilliant nursery. My daughter has thrived and has been going for nearly 2 years. All the staff are lovely and so accommodating. I would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone looking for a nursery.

My daughter has been attending Jesters since August 2025, and my son attended for 3 years before leaving for school in September 2025.
My daughter has settled in so well and is thriving; she adores her key person and the other staff and is always so happy to go in. She eats well, sleeps well and I
know she is cared for and looked after excellently.

We're been really happy with Jesters Beaulieu and how much our 2 year old has come along there. He is so confident and his speech and even sign language has really improved especially lately. Our son sometimes gets overwhelmed and staff have invited us to meet with them and put in place extra support
for him which has really helped. They've really thought about what he needs above the basics of childcare. He loves going in the mornings and is always happy when he leaves.

The team at Jesters have been welcoming and supportive with my child's separation anxiety during the initial days. The level of care given to make sure she was comfortable and settled into the new routine/environment has been outstanding. Even making sure to call and let me know how my child is getting
on which was so helpful at that time.
Along the way struggles with eating has been kindly supported with adult friendly meal time supervision and encouragement establishing and providing that extra boost to my child's confidence.
Overall the team at jesters are very friendly, helpful, supportive and professional, sometimes even taliorling my childs needs on a day to day basis if required.
They provide a safe environment for my child and encourage her to excel in a number of interactive and engaging activities. My child has developed confiendence and is thriving.
Thank you team for your consistant, outstanding effort and hard work, you are doing a brilliant job.

We've had a great experience with Jesters Nursery (Beaulieu setting). The staff are caring, attentive and create a warm, supportive environment where our child has thrived.


The outdoor play area is a real highlight. Its spacious, safe, and used regularly to encourage active play and exploration. Jesters

also does a fantastic job supporting early learning through fun, well-planned activities that build key skills in communication, creativity, and social development.


Communication is excellent, and we always feel informed and involved. We're very happy with the care provided and highly recommend Jesters to other families.

My daughter joined the preschool room about three months ago, and the team have been fantastic in helping her settle-drop-offs are now a joy. She's so happy there that she often asks to go in on her days off! The staff are caring, supportive, and always ready to help. The activities are curriculum-based,
and I've already noticed great progress in her counting and phonics. She especially enjoys the outdoor play and messy activities, which the team actively encourage.

My son has been going to Jesters past 8 months now. I can see there is lots of change in terms of confidence in talking. I also notice him telling me about his learning at nursery and sometimes about new stories. He is always happy to go there and has made many friends whom he names almost everyday.
I am glad he loves his nursery time.

My Daughters Wonderful Journey!


As my daughter gets ready to move on to her next adventure, I just want to express our heartfelt gratitude to everyone at Jesters Nursery. From the very first day, we felt welcomed, supported, and truly cared for.


The teachers are warm, nurturing, and incredibly

dedicated. My daughter has grown so much, not just in learning, but in confidence and joy. Every morning, she looked forward to coming to school, and that says everything.


We're especially thankful for the way the staff communicate with parents and always create a safe, fun, and inspiring environment for the children. From the little songs she brings home, to the friendships she's built, Jesters has been a special part of her early years.


A special thank you to one member of staff for her kindness and guidance, to another lovely young teacher, who has become not just a teacher, but a true friend to my daughter. Your care has meant the world to her and to us.

As a parent, choosing the right nursery for your child is such a daunting and nervous time, but I have been so impressed with Jesters Day Nursery and Pre-School. Having already seen how well my nephew thrived, this gave me comfort and confidence that choosing Jesters was the best decision for my own
child. The staff are amazing, they always communicate well with us and keep us fully updated on how our child is doing each day. My child loves going in and it is very clear that he has such a great bond with his teachers. Since starting Jesters, his learning and development has just grown and grown. As parents, we could not be prouder of how well our child is doing and how well cared for he is by all staff.

Jesters Day Nursery and Pre-School Beaulieu is a lovely nursery. Both of my sons have attended and they have thrived under their care. The staff are always very welcoming, warm and caring. Safeguarding measures are excellent. We receive regular updates of activities throughout the day on the app, and
at pick-up we get a brief summary of our child's day from staff. My oldest son has recently started Primary School and the transition was very easy with the skills and confidence he gained at Jesters. I would highly recommend this nursery.

Background
Hello, I am the Head of Curriculum & Inclusion, developing and nurturing our Jesters pre-schoolers. I have always had an immense passion for helping others and making a difference, and because of this, I always knew I wanted to work with children, positively impacting their lives and helping them thrive and learn.


The Jesters Family
Growing up, I always admired my teachers and couldn’t wait until I could inspire other young children, too. I completed my University Degree in Early Years and Primary Education and QTS Qualifications, and have been working in childcare and education since 2014. I have loved every minute and continue to do so here at Jesters.


Outside work
In my spare time, I enjoy walking and cuddling my two dogs, Ralph and Willow; they are adorable and playful. I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies and cooking each other’s dinners.


Favourite children’s book
My favourite children’s book is Superworm by Julia Donaldson. This book has been extremely lucky for me, as I based an activity and lesson around it, and thankfully, I was successful. My favourite book is The Owl Who was Afraid of the Dark by Jill Tomlinson, as it reminds me of my childhood. My Grandparents used to read it to me to help me get over my fear. Happily, ‘Plop’ got over his fear, however I did not!

I joined the Jesters Family in April 2025 after relocating back to Essex after my maternity leave. I started as Room Leader and have now progressed to Deputy Curriculum Manager. Previously, I worked as a Primary School Teacher and now love supporting others in planning and delivering meaningful and purposeful lessons.


Outside work
I love spending time with my family, walking our dog and exploring new villages and seaside towns. I regularly visit my son’s family in Spain and love exploring and learning about different cultures.

My favourite children’s book is The BFG by Roald Dahl. It was one of the first books that made me love reading. My favourite book to read to my little boy is The Bellybutton Book by Sandra Boynton, as it always makes us laugh!

I have worked within the childcare sector for over 10 years, in various roles including Nursery Practitioner within a private school, Nannying, SEN Support and Family Support Worker within the community.

The reason I chose Jesters is that both of my children attended the setting, and I loved the caring, homely feel the setting had to it and the love and nurture they gave my boys. I strongly believe that nurseries build strong foundations for children’s development and future success through play and engaging activities. I am passionate about how children can understand and manage their emotions and enjoy implementing emotional regulation into everyday activities, ensuring these activities are both fun and educational.

During my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, watching my boys play football, and walking our family dog.

My favourite book is Simon Sock by Sue Hendra and Paul Linnet. I feel this book has such a special message for young people to understand that we are all unique and to find happiness in being an individual.

Hello, my name is Jessica. My career within the childcare sector started in 2012 upon completing my Level 3 qualification. In 201,7 I progressed and achieved my Level 5 Diploma in Childcare and Management.

Since returning to Jesters after a career break and the birth of my 1st daughter in September 2023, I have gravitated back to that feeling of belonging. My own childhood was magical, and I wish to offer those unique experiences with the ethos and opportunities I’m invested in.


Outside work
Socialising with friends, coffee meet-ups, and baby groups have become my new hobbies, and I cherish every moment! I have a Chihuahua called Wills who loves to be spoilt, and why shouldn’t he!?
