Next Generation Day Nursery (Barnehurst) has been operating since July 2018. They also have another site, New Foundations Day Nursery, located in Bexleyheath, operating since 2003.

The nursery provides children with a welcoming and friendly home-from-home environment and has a team of highly qualified and enthusiastic staff who have a genuine interest in supporting children to learn and achieve, they want to achieve that wow factor for you, they want you to want to come to their setting, they want to make you feel at home, they want what's best for all the children and continually strive for improvements to maintain their local reputation.

Staff are skilled and professional as they support children's individual needs and help them to become capable learners, staff build fantastic relations with parents and keep you updated on what your little one has done during the day through their app, you will get regular photos or video uploads through the apps secure portal, they find these offer peace of mind to many parents, seeing their child 'in action' speaks volumes.

The staff are trained to meet every child’s individual needs and help the children to learn and achieve in a fun, attractive and bright learning environment, they believe in re-investing in their staff and have a robust CPD programme to support their learning and enhance any areas of the provision for ongoing improvements.

The Staff are always welcoming.
They have a great way with the kids very warm.
Kids are given food cooked onsite
Frequent healthy snacks to keep the little ones under control without going hungry.
They are very proactive in tackling negative behaviour.
They have been excellent in caring for
the kids if they have been under the weather.
Great learning and learning through activities.
Celebrates holidays and raises funds for charities
Well staffed = good ratio per student


Only con is the outside space which is not very big
They do not have pram shed or shelter at the moment but they said they intend to build one.

Amazing nursery, polite staff, open doors on time, care for the children properly, welcoming when you arrive to drop off and pick up, helps you budget payments, takes the children outside at least once a day, thorough details on how your child is, sends photos and information throughout the day via
the family app and they reassure parents their child is okay if they were left unsettled.

My son loves going to nursery, smiles when we pull up outside.
All of the workers there are so lovely and welcoming to my son and me every time he goes.
Whenever I call and ask how my son is, it is never too much trouble and most of all they are honest. They have been honest if he is having a bad
day, and although that’s hard to hear, it’s so comforting to know that I will always get told the truth. The app is a godsend, nice to just check in and see what he’s been doing and the photos are also an amazing touch. The nursery is ALWAYS clean, never seen it dirty. Children always seem happy and comforted by staff quickly if they seem sad. I can’t put into words how glad I am this nursery had space for my son. The others I viewed were not a patch on this nursery and staff. I’m so grateful for all the staff.

My son was nervous and shy when he started his nursery mornings, but the staff made him, and myself and his dad relaxed, reassured and content.
He loves his mornings at nursery, he has learnt to share, interact with the other children and is always excited to go.
The staff are always friendly and
welcoming and always have a chat when picking him up.
Wouldn’t go to another nursery.

I cannot fault Next Generation in any way. My son loves every minute of his time there. The staff are fantastic. Each one of them has so much energy and drive to provide the best environment possible for the children. They are all kind, loving and put loads of effort into giving the children fun and
interesting activities.
I have also been impressed with the level of support and consideration given to parents, particularly during the settling period.

This nursery is absolutely 100% the best you will ever get in this area, my son is now at the reception at school. He attended this nursery from the age of three years old and he developed and learnt so much here. He was loved and cared for like you wouldn’t believe. I was always happy to leave him
with such a fresh vibrant team of people, of all different ages which I think is so important. My son learnt how to have empathy and to care for others and most importantly, how to be a good kind little person, which as a mum, I feel is vital. This nursery helped and has given me as a mum, direction and support at all times, especially just before leaving to go to school, which made his move so smoothly and I had a happy child starting school. They are amazing, love them, couldn’t have done this without this fantastic team of people.

Beautifully designed new nursery with a snazzy interior, lovely selection of wooden toys and a fabulous team of childcare professionals that put the children first. This is a family run business and it shows as throughout all they do the focus is on stability, well-being and safety.
My child transitioned
from the owner's successful nursery in Sidcup. The potential for disruption was minimal due to the diligence of the team. The standard of food is superb also with a chef that focuses on wholesome favourites such as fish pie. Highly recommend from babies to toddlers to preschool. You won’t be disappointed.

My son who will turn 3 soon started this nursery when it opened in July'18.
Previously, he had been at another nursery before it closed when the college, who loaned out the space, needed it back. Having visited a number of other potential replacement nurseries in the Sidcup area, it was clear to me
that I wanted my son to continue with the care he'd been receiving since he was 8 months old. Although Next Generation is a bit further away, as soon as I had decided that my son would go there, it felt like a weight lifted off my shoulders. The staff are amazing and they have really taken the time to get to know my son and have fostered a strong bond with him. I've watched my son develop from a baby into a confident, independent little boy since he has been with the staff at Next Generations and I'm excited to see how he continues to develop. I am so pleased that he is still able to come here and I look forward to seeing his achievements when he enters the pre-school room next year.

Our son loved this nursery and all the staff, especially his key workers!
He joined the nursery in September 2016 and it by far exceeded our expectations! The lovely staff supported us with toilet training, learning his name, letter formations - the list goes on!
All staff members treated both us
(Mum and Dad) and all other family members with respect and the care for our son didn’t go unnoticed. All areas of the EYFS were taught throughout the day and any resources are accessible should the children want to play with something different - eg; trains!
We honestly cannot thank the staff for their ongoing support and care and we were so sad to leave for school in September 2018. He has already asked to return to show his ‘adults’ how he writes his numbers and letters and to show them he can now read - saying ‘they’ll be so proud of me’.
We would highly recommend it to all parents/careers!

My son has been with the nursery for 3 years since it was based at Sidcup. The nursery moved to new premises in Barnehurst earlier in the year and my son transferred to the new setting with the existing staff from the nursery in Sidcup.


The staff and management at the nursery are fantastic and are

an excellent team. They are very committed and caring.


Next Generation Day Nursery has been a fabulous nursery for my son and has supported his educational, social and physical development. The nursery has been renovated and has been done to an exceptionally high standard. All the facilities are new and it is a fantastic setting. The outside area is great with lots to do and explore through play.


My son has been extremely happy at Next Generation Day Nursery. He has now left as he has started school. He was very sad to leave and misses his friends and staff at the nursery!


I highly recommend Next Generation Day Nursery.

We transferred our son with all the staff from their previous nursery in Sidcup to this new one in Barnehurst. He was coming up to school and he had been so happy there for almost three years that we felt the best solution was to move him with all the staff he loved so much for the last few months.
That tells you a lot about how fantastic the staff at this nursery are - he has had the same wonderful key worker since he moved up from the baby room at 2 and he loves all the members of staff. The approach established by the management is one of real care and love for the children, which, in my opinion, is what you want! They are also very focused on the educational side and have prepared him really well for school and the transition. They have dealt really well with allergies and more serious health issues, which has been very reassuring. The new nursery setting in Barnehurst is fantastic, with such lovely spaces to play and learn - I only wish it were closer for our next one!

My two daughters have attended Next Generation Day Nursery since they were 18 months old. My eldest has now started school and my youngest is just about to. Unfortunately, the old site in Sidcup had to close but the staff and children all moved to a new setting at Barnehurst and so I was happy for my
daughter to move there for her last few weeks at nursery. The new setting is a lovely space, it’s light and airy with great new equipment and a fantastic outdoor area which can be rare in nurseries but above all the best thing is the staff. They are caring, attentive, welcoming and always smiling and it’s everything you could hope for when you are entrusting your children into their care. My daughters are leaving a loving setting with a good start to their education.

Debbie prioritises, love care and attention in the Baby Room, making sure the babies get lots of hugs and encouragement so that they thrive in all areas.
