Sunflower Stalybridge is an innovative day nursery offering full flexible daycare and a support partnership for parents. Part of the Sunflower Group of nurseries who own and operate 4 nurseries in Tameside.

Sunflower Stalybridge is owned and managed by mums who want to deliver the best care possible, to innovate and educate each unique child and to ensure the best start in the important early years.

As a paperless nursery, a transparent electronic learning system is used which enables parents to access the child's learning 24/7. Throughout the day parents receive electronic updates, enabling to feel part of the children's day and meaning no-one misses any precious moments.

Sunflower Stalybridge is a secure setting, designed to ensure children have continuous access to an outside area whatever the weather.

The outdoor area provides natural surfaces and is being set up by experienced practitioners to ensure children have the correct resources to excite and engage, encouraging enthusiastic learners.

The nursery offers daycare for children aged between 3 months -5 years.

Fun House Day Nursery has welcomed my little boy with open arms and his settling in period was easy and happy, putting me at ease instantly.
All of the staff are friendly, approachable and loving towards my son, making sure that he's always happy and comfortable.
The nursery structure, combined with
time spent outdoors is great and I'm really happy with everything it provides for him.

My son attends Fun House Day Nursery holiday club and occasional before and afterschool club. The staff are brilliant with him, they keep us updated throughout the day and ensures he always has fun whilst learning.

From the first moment I took my child here, it was friendly and welcoming and I knew instantly that I’d found the perfect nursery, the baby connect app is an amazing way to see what your child is up to during the day. I would recommend Fun House to anyone.

My little boy has been at the nursery now for two months and he loves it.
I’ve seen him come on leaps and bounds since he’s been attending the nursery.
The facilities are fab and the nursery has a very new and clean feel about it.
All the staff are lovely and approachable and they really care about
the children.
We also really like the daily connect app so we are able to see what our little boy has been doing throughout the day and see photos of him doing activities. It puts your mind at rest.
I’d definitely recommend Fun House day nursery, it’s the best.

My children have attended Fun House since September 2018 and are extremely happy there.
The staff are amazing and the manager is always available and happy to help.
I would happily recommend Fun House to any friends/family etc who are looking for childcare.

An absolutly brilliant nursery! All the staff are so friendly and helpful. My daughter has extra needs and they accommodate all her needs above and beyond for us. Fantastic, highly recommended, safe environment. Thank you guys for all your help and support.

My two year old daughter has only been attending Fun House Nursery for a few weeks due to her previous nursery closing down. I’m absolutely thrilled that my daughter now attends this nursery as she absolutely loves going. She currently attends two full days but will be starting three full days soon.

I have found Fun House staff have been extremely accommodating, caring, trusting and have very competent and capable members of their staff team, nothing is to much trouble. I am very happy and confident with leaving my daughter in the capable hands of all the staff. It is a very warm and happy environment to enter.
Well done to all the staff team for running such a safe comfortable place to care for our children.

I have 2 children who attend Fun House Day Nursery in Stalybridge and I cannot recommend it enough. My daughter's nursery closed down the last day before Christmas and I was so worried about what to do. I contacted Fun House and the staff were amazing and helped me sort everything out. My son started
just after my daughter and he has settled in so well. The staff are friendly and helpful and my children get so excited to be going to nursery. They are also helping with my son's speech delay and the improvement has been amazing. Highly recommend this nursery.

Elaine Sagar

Job Title: CEO Joined: 2008

Elaine embarked on a career in Childcare in 2008 and founded The Sunflower Group in 2014.


She is passionate about Early Years Education. She is a fervent supporter of all aspects of early learning, representing the Early Years in her role as OBC Co-Chairperson, Schools Forum (EY Representative) and Chair of Tameside Nursery Network. Elaine is also a regular contributor to BBC Breakfast TV when representing the Early Years sector in the North West.


Elaine takes a "hands-on" approach to supporting her ever-expanding team of practitioners.


Elaine is committed to every child receiving the best start in their early education.

Dawn

Dawn Gibbons

Job Title: Operations Director Joined: 2014

Dawn Gibbons joined the company at its inception in 2014 as a Level 6 Lead Practitioner.


She has progressed through to now leading practice across the company alongside managing her Hyde setting with her senior management team.


Dawn has been recognised nationally for her dedication to practice when she received the National Award for Operations Director from Nursery World in 2019.


She is committed to ensuring that children and families are at the heart of everything we do at Sunflower.

Gail

Gail Smith

Gail Smith has joined our Senior management team at Sunflower.


As an established figure in Tameside, Gail has led exceptional childcare for many years, and we are thrilled to have her join us at Stalybridge.


Gail's expertise in childcare and leadership will contribute greatly to the continued success of our nurseries.


She has the knowledge and expertise to play a pivotal role in overseeing operations, staff management and driving improvement.

Amanda

Amanda Ellis

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2008

Amanda Ellis has been employed by the Sunflower Group for over 13 years. Starting off as a Room Leader, Amanda completed her Manager's Training and has worked as a manager ever since.


Over a number of years, Amanda has worked her "magic" on three of our Centres and is now proud to co-manage our Stalybridge Nursery.


Amanda has a wealth of knowledge both on the nursery floor as a practitioner ( "which is where you will often find her") and as a Senior Management Team member leading change to drive continuous improvement for the team, children and families.

Bob Wynn

Job Title: Training Director Joined: 2009

Meet our Training Director Bob Wynn. Bob joined the company as a headmaster bringing many years of leadership in education to the company. When the school closed Bob developed his skills in other areas and retrained to lead our team in quality professional development. Bob leads our team in safeguarding, first aid and self-regulation. He also leads physical education and Forrest school along with the team and children.

Natalie

Natalie Hoszowskyj

Job Title: Parent Partnership Manager Joined: 2014

Although Natalie took up her position as one of the managerial team in 2014, she has worked for the company CEO for the past 21 years. Natalie has a wealth of managerial experience that she has brought to the team. Along with her education in childcare, this enables Natalie to lead and support both her team and families within the centre.


Natalie has recently become our Partnership with Parents Manager. This role was created to ensure our families always receive the best support across all our centres.

Jessica Johnstone

Job Title: Senior Practitioner Joined: 2019

Jessica joined our team after the sudden closure of a local nursery group where Jessica had led practice for many years. Jessica now works as a Senior Practitioner at Stalybridge in the Pre-School Room.

Naomi Lewis

Naomi is a Senior Practitioner in our Lions Room. Naomi has completed a Degree in her Early Years and has brought a wealth of experience to our Pre-school Room.

Collette leads our Out Of School and Holiday Club. She is also a core member of staff in our 2-year-old room.
