My child LOVES attending Sunflower Stalybridge. She has developed great relationships with her keyworker and other adults in the room. Communication with parents throughout the day is excellent via the app, helping us to feel totally at ease and reassured. Both of my children have attended Sunflower
and I wouldn't recommend anyone else.

We're so happy with this nursery! The staff are warm, caring, and genuinely passionate about what they do. Our child settled in quickly and always comes home happy and well looked after. The environment is clean, safe, and full of engaging activities that support learning and development. Communication

We couldn't be happier with the care our daughter receives at this nursery. From the very beginning, the team has been warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in her wellbeing and development.
At just one year old, it's so important to us that she feels safe, comforted, and stimulated-and the staff
go above and beyond to make that happen. They take the time to understand her individual needs, routines, and personality, which gives us real peace of mind every day.
We especially appreciate the regular updates, photos, and feedback, which help us feel connected to her day and confident that she's thriving. It's clear that a lot of thought goes into the activities, encouraging early learning through play, creativity, and social interaction.
She is always happy to arrive and comes home smiling, which says everything. We're so grateful to have found such a caring and professional environment for her early years. Thank you to the whole team for the incredible work you do!

As a parent of three children who have all attended Sunflower Nursery 2 are still currently there I honestly can't recommend it enough.
From the very beginning the staff have been incredibly welcoming, supportive and caring towards all of my children. They take the time to get to know each child individually
and not just as a class. One of my children has additional needs which can sometimes be challenging but the way the staff handle this is nothing short of amazing. They show patience, understanding, love and consistency every single day and treat my child with kindness, respect, and love, never making them feel different or difficult. The staff work closely with us as parents keeping us updated throughout the day, letting you know how your children are doing what activities they've been involved in and sharing regular updates and pictures I can't recommend Sunflower Nursery enough the staff are incredible.

Sunflower is a great nursery and I would recommend it to anyone. My only concern is that often my son doesn't eat the food offered (due to sensory issues) and often he is not offered anything else or he is asked if he wants some toast but will likely say no as he can see everyone else is already playing
and doesn't want to miss out.
Reply from Gail Smith, Senior Manager at Sunflower StalybridgeHi Nalah-Rae
Thank you for your review. We will always offer children alternative options to the set meals, especially if they are here for a full day. Children who can communicate their preferences are listened too and rather than a child have nothing, toast is often a food which children will eat if all other options have been refused. I have asked the staff to gather further information of foods from home, which I know they have already gathered, but to see if any new preferences have been established at home

This is the most wonderful nursery. The staff adore my child and look after her as if she was one of their own.
From her very first starting she has been incredibly comfortable, in fact another parent commented on a settling visit that she must have been at the nursery a long time as she was so content
and was shocked to hear it was her first week.

The way they include the whole family is wonderful too. My Dad loved visiting on grandparents day, and again commented how happy she was.

I wish I'd found this nursery sooner as I'd have loved to have sent my 5yr old too.

Am absolute asset to the local area.

I cannot thank staff at Sunflower enough my son has been attending since he was 9 months old hes now 2 years old and they have been brilliant. In particular Sophie, Colette, Tamzin and Ruby who mostly have care of my child and they are just brilliant with children their passion really shines through.
I hope any other parent would choose this nursery and help them feel a sigh of relief when they need it whilst working or in need or extra support. Since coming here my son has developed so much and is very sociable with other children which has been very important to me with him being an only child.

We enrolled our son back in January 2026 and we have seen him progress so much in such a short space of time and Sunflower have been instrumental in this. Patient and dynamic approaches to children's development has meant that our boy is saying more words by the week and is now walking independently.
There is no doubt in our minds that we made the right decision by choosing Sunflower.

My boy joined this nursery 6 months ago and he absolutely loves it.
On our show round we straight away saw how attentive the staff were and my boy felt so comfortable he went off on his own to play straight away.
He loves all the staff and is always welcomed at drop off with big smiles grom the team.
The
team always give a great handover of the day and keep the app up to date so i know what he gets up to.

They are really on supporting my boy with his referral for speech and language. it was from their observations during his play thst the referral was put in place. We work together to support my boy with his development and behaviour.

Im super impressed. Im someone who has worked in childcare for 20 years so have been quite picky on my childcare choice snd I have no regrets x

Absolutely love this nursery! We have three children who attend in three different groups and they are all thriving. The staff are really attentive and the kids are always up to something.

Christmas plays are such a lovely bonus plus all the effort for Mother's Day and all the celebrations is lovely!

I love being up to date with circle time and the app is updated all the time and always works!

Office staff/ managers are fab with financial side - always up to date and keeping us informed of changes and recalculations.

Would recommend!

There's not a day that goes by where my daughter doesn't run into them doors with excitement and it's the best reassurance that she is in the best hands.
I've had 2 children at different nursery's and I have never felt at ease like I have with putting my 3rd here.
It's a well led nursery management
clearly know what they're doing,
The girls are brilliant can't praise them all enough.

I couldn't be happier with this nursery and the incredible care they provide. Since my son started attending this nursery the difference in his development has been truly noticeable. Compared to his previous nursery, he has learned so much more, both academically and socially .It's been wonderful to
see his confidence grow every day.

The staff are absolutely amazing. They are warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in each child's wellbeing and progress. It's clear they go above and beyond to create a nurturing and stimulating environment. What means the most to me is the strong bonds my son has formed with several members of staff , he talks about them at home, which really shows how comfortable and happy he feels there.

I feel so reassured knowing he is in such caring and capable hands. I would highly recommend this nursery to any parent looking for a supportive, engaging, and loving environment for their child

My son has been at this nursery since he was 3 months old so over 2 years - he loves attending nursery, for the social aspect with other children but the activities they do, he is always fully engaged. My son has very particular likes such as fish and the sea, dinosaurs and bagpipes and they always
try to tweak things so it involves his interests.
The staff are always friendly and helpful.

Sunflower has been an absolute blessing for our family! From day one, both my 10-month-old son and 3-year-old daughter have thrived in this wonderful environment. The staff are incredibly caring, professional, and attentive, ensuring each child's individual needs are met. My son has developed so quickly,
thanks to the age-appropriate activities and the nurturing care he receives. My daughter has gained confidence, improved her social skills and looks forward to her days at nursery, where she enjoys the thoughtfully designed curriculum that blends learning and play perfectly. The nursery itself is always clean, well-organised and full of creative resources that inspire curiosity. Sunflower Nursery truly feels like a second home for our children, and we're beyond grateful for the care, support, and development they provide.
It's a place where they can learn, play, and grow with confidence. We are truly grateful for Sunflower and all the care and love they pour into their work!

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.914)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.914) out of 10 for Sunflower Stalybridge is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 32 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.914 for Sunflower Stalybridge is calculated as follows: ( (354 Excellents x 5) + (26 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 383 Ratings = 4.914
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Sunflower Stalybridge is based on 32 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 57 number of registered child places is 11.4, which has been reached with 32 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
