Dockside Day Nursery and Pre-school

The nursery has amazing staff that spend time developing all aspects of growth and give feedback to parents. We appreciate the daily handovers and always look forward to hearing about areas of improvement.

We honestly couldn't recommend Arthur's nursery highly enough. From the very beginning, we have felt incredibly lucky to have found such a wonderful setting for him.

The staff are absolutely amazing - caring, attentive, kind and genuinely invested in the children. It is so reassuring to know that Arthur is somewhere he is happy, safe, encouraged and supported every day. The care and attention they give to each child really shines through, and it is clear that the children are treated as individuals rather than just another name on the register.

Arthur has grown so much since starting nursery, not only in his confidence and independence but also in his communication, social skills and willingness to try new things. He comes home with stories about his day, and it is lovely to see how much he enjoys being there.

The communication with parents is also fantastic. I always feel kept informed and listened to, and the staff are approachable whenever I have a question or concern.

My son joined at 2 years old, and being his first time in nursery, he found it hard at first, crying at drop off. Settling him in took around 5 months, but staff were patient and never rushed him. He also has a speech impediment, and his key worker communicated with him patiently, helping him feel understood.

The nursery manager was brilliant too, listening to my concerns and keeping communication consistent throughout, so I always felt informed. That support for both my son and me as a parent made a real difference. He's now settled and happy, and we have another little one joining soon.

My child has been attending Dockside for over a year and has had such a positive experience. He enjoys the activities and the staff are friendly and supportive. They have always listened to my concerns about my child and have always worked to ensure he is catered for. I appreciate all the effort Dockside does to support the children and keep the parents well informed. Most importantly, my son thoroughly enjoys nursery and is thriving.

From the baby room through to pre school, the staff have all been amazing and we have seen her confidence grow in every area including toileting, eating, learning and friendships with other children and the staff - everything we hope she would achieve from this environment! Our daughter will miss dockside very much and us as her parents are very thankful she went here.

What can I say - my daughter Luna has just completed her last day at Dockside Nursery ready to go to school.

Luna has been at this nursery since she was 15 months old after we had a difficult experience with a childminder.

It is tough to return to work after maternity leave and leave them in the hands of someone else.

Those first weeks it was tough for her to separate and she was very shy. Now my very school ready confident little girl. And i credit nursery a very large role in that.

She has learnt so much, made so many friends and loved everyday. The staff are outstanding - they care so much and nothing has ever been too much trouble.

As a nurse myself I have been particularly impressed with how they handle more medical issues. The checks carried out, the follow up and the documentation - i have genuinely been so impressed.

My daughter has been with this nursery since she was 9 months old and is now moving on to reception. She has loved every day here and has said some of her favourite days has been with the nursery. We also love that the nursery regularly takes the children on little trips and outings, giving them new experiences and opportunities to learn beyond the classroom.

I find the daily diary that they share helpful for knowing what he's eaten and how he's slept etc.

Dockside has been amazing for my niece who joined in June 2025 following her transition of becoming a big sister. I do the drop offs and pick ups and cannot fault the staff team, management are great for answering any questions, reassuring any anxieties and being so welcoming! Great choice of nursery!

We are so sad to be leaving but highly recommend Dockside Nursery to anyone looking for a nurturing and loving environment.

Both of our daughters have attended, starting as early as 10 months old, and it has been such a positive experience for our family. From the very beginning, the staff have shown real dedication, not only in providing excellent care but also in listening to and meeting the individual needs of each child.

Best nursery around. Helpful staff. Understanding management. Loads of space for all the kids. Sad to be leaving.. Even tried my best to stay once moved house, but In the end had to leave reluctantly.

Send your child here. It's outstanding by ofsted for a reason. Won't beat it.

Whenever I have had minor complaints, they have been dealt with efficiently and effectively. I am beyond happy with the care daughter receives here.

Both my children attended this nursery, my son has been here since he was 2 he's now 4 and going into school come September and my daughter was 3 when she started. This nursery has been absolutely amazing, the staff are so welcoming and very supportive with both you and your child, cant fault them at all i feel as if i have grown a bond with the nursery as a parent and i never felt that at my daughters first nursery which is nice because you want to be a part of their journey too

My twin girls have been attending here since they were 9months old and now are 2. They have come on so much since starting the nursery. One of my girls was very attached, shy and cried everytime at drop off, but all the staff in nursery room 1 worked with her and building her confidence and this has really shown what they have done as she runs off say bye and goes in with a smile which makes my day feel so much easier. My other little girl enjoys the nursery so much and names all the staff on her room on a daily basis which shows me just how much they mean to her, she is full of confidence and just loves going everyday. They are turning into such clever little girls with the help of all the lovely staff! Thank you to all the staff for helping my girls on their journey with you all

My daughter has attended this nursery for just over 10 months, she began in baby room and is now in toddler room. We have nothing but praise for the nursery staff as they go above and beyond every single day.

Staff are always professional, friendly, thorough in handovers, communication is great and clearly love their jobs.

The nursery were also not fazed by the additional needs our daughter has, which was a breath of fresh air.

We also have meetings with the SENCo who regularly reviews careplans to ensure they reflect her needs and challenge her- again, the SENCo is thorough, friendly and pays attention to detail.

There are a wide range of activities the staff do throughout the day to challenge and motivate the children and it is lovely to be sent photos monthly, so I can see her having fun. There is also an app where staff and parents can communicate, which makes contact easy.

Overall, we are thrilled our daughter has a place at this nursery. Thank you for all your hard work
