Dockside Day Nursery and Pre-School is a full day care nursery situated in the Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre. The nursery has a unique, modern and fully secure rooftop garden looking out onto the picturesque Chatham Maritime Marina.

The nursery features five spacious and well equipped age-appropriate rooms ranging from babies to rising fives attended to by well qualified and experienced staff.

The Baby Room follows the home routines of younger babies, providing a loving and secure environment to meet all their needs. The Toddler Room features comfy areas, exciting activities and resources positioned around safe, fun physical equipment for those children who are toddling and explore a great deal more, but still may need aspects of their home routines. Staff work as closely as possible to match home routines for babies and toddlers.

The Nursery Rooms 1 and 2 cater for intrepid two-year-olds and all the excitement that being two brings. The engaging environment encourages a wide range of skills to be learned to aid independence with cosy areas to rest.

The Pre-School Room and Rising Fives Rooms inspires three and four-year-old children to gain the literacy, maths and self-care skills ahead of the crucial time of starting primary school ready to be life long learners.

  • Dockside Day Nursery provides high quality childcare and education with experienced, qualified staff in a fantastic environment with a unique rooftop garden. We have five rooms - Babies, Toddlers, Nursery 1, Nursery 2, Pre-School and Rising Fives. All meals are freshly cooked on the premises by our nursery chef.

    Parents and Carers are able to use the fifteen hour funding from 9 months old up to and including the 15 and 30 hour funding for three and four year olds, stretched over 51 weeks of the year.

    Additional Information:
    •   In order to secure your place, a deposit of £200 and a non refundable registration fee of £50. If you decide not to join the nursery, the deposit is not refundable as the place would have been held.
    •   Fees are based on 51 weeks per year, paid monthly in advance (1st of every month)
    •   A minimum booking of two full days or 3 half days per week is required
    •   Fees to be paid monthly by direct debit or tax free childcare
    •   No refunds will be given for sickness or holidays.
    •   Fees are subject to review in accordance with the Terms and Conditions
    •   The nursery will be closed on all Bank Holidays (normal charges still apply)

    NHS workers and Emergency Services get 5% off and there is also a 10% discount for full-time places.

Exceptional nursery. My daughter absolutely loves it here. She has been to three nurseries. Due to recently moving in the area we had to find a new nursery, she was at the second for 6 months and she just did not settle. Then we found Dockside. Within two weeks she was settled, happy and loving her
time there. The staff are all so friendly and welcoming, really patient and understanding. Food is great, varied and balanced. My daughter gets her bag ready each night excited for the following day, to see her best friend and what exciting activities she could be doing. The manager is amazing and so helpful. I cannot rate it enough.

Absolutely amazing nursery! As a first time mum (and a very picky one) I was struggling to find a nursery I was happy to send my daughter to when I returned to work and had almost given up hope, but then I found Dockside Day Nursery. As soon as I visited the nursery I knew instantly that this is where
I wanted my daughter to attend and quickly signed her up. The facilities are extremely clean and well equipped and cater for all ages.
The rooftop garden is a highlight and allows the children a safe environment to enjoy outside space. The staff have been nothing but fantastic with me and my daughter and can't be praised enough. The famly app is a godsend so parents can see exactly what their child has been up to whilst at nursery, as well as photos to show the good time they are having! This app gives peace of mind as well as allowing parents and staff to communicate throughout the day. I know that my daughter is so well looked after whilst at nursery and I am so thankful to everyone.

I absolutely love this nursery. My daughter started a few months ago. She is 3 years old and this is the first nursery she has attended. I was very uptight about leaving her and the nursery she would attend.
When finding Dockside Day Nursery I surely didn’t hesitate to book a viewing. I can honestly
say my daughter is so happy here and I have no worries leaving her on a daily basis. The resources are brilliant as they are very much age and stage of development based to reassure every child’s development is stimulated daily. My daughter has learnt so much within a few months and her speech has improved greatly. Upon collection, my daughter's Keyworker spends time talking me through my daughters day, their activities, and mealtimes, I cannot fault them in any area. the setting is also very clean and the security would reassure anybody. I couldn’t have asked for a better team that are so lovely, welcoming, helpful and enthusiastic.

Dockside Nursery is fantastic. The staff are absolutely amazing, and my son loves going to nursery. He is progressing so well and excited to go to "school" every day. He takes part in so many activities and the staff create special activities for him based on the things he likes. I couldn't ask for
better staff to take care of my child. They were so reassuring when my son first started, taking everything at a pace both me and my son were comfortable with. The continuing care and support is amazing. I honestly can't praise this nursery enough.

Excellent caring staff! My daughter has been at home with me 2 years so I thought it would be stressful to start her at nursery, which it was naturally, but she quickly formed close relationships with the staff as they are all caring and patient. She enjoys herself and I have to say everyone reassured
me as well! I’m now starting my 1 year old. I know they are in good hands and all the children here play together really nicely. Definitely recommend.

My little boy joined here in January 2019 and I can honestly say it's the best nursery he has ever been too. He has learnt so much by being here, his talking is much better, they have even started to toilet train him which his doing really well in. More importantly, his extremely happy here and all
the staff are so lovely and I trust them 100% with him. At first, he was shy but now his really come out of his shell I get lots of updates during the day to tell me what he has been up to and the facilities are amazing and clean, the food menu is fantastic, my little boy is lactose intolerant and they always cater for him. By far one of the best nurseries!

This nursery is fantastic! The staff are fantastic! Need I say more?
I feel completely at ease leaving my children here whilst I'm at work. Not only knowing they are getting the very best care but also that the staff get to know each child individually and tailor fun and educational activities to suit
their interests.
I cannot recommend it enough.

*AMAZING* My 3 year old daughter attends this nursery and after her attending a previous nursery that she didn’t have a good experience within or good memories of nursery, since her joining at this nursery she is excited about attending and looks forward to her next session.. she has learnt so much
and made so many friends along with building a great relationship with the staff! My only regret is not sending her to this nursery sooner.
The children have a safe outside play area in which they can enjoy
The staff have so much time for the children and are amazing within all aspects of what they achieve with the children.. they go above and beyond. The meals provided are amazing and I can leave my daughter at nursery knowing she is safe and happily enjoying her day! In looking for a nursery, I wouldn’t recommend any other than this nursery for your child.

We were nervous about sending our son to a nursery due to the fact that he had never spent any long periods of time away from home and also because he has multiple food allergies. We viewed a few nurseries but as soon as we viewed Dockside we knew it was the right one for us!
The staff are lovely
and very experienced and knowledgeable, and the facilities are excellent. We were very impressed by the wide range of meals provided and the fact that every allergy was catered for and taken seriously. Another worry of ours was whether our son would get enough 1-2-1 attention and how the staff would handle the fact that he is very difficult to get to sleep! We needn't have worried as they all have so much time for him and take as much time as needed to get him to sleep. He has very quickly formed a close attachment to his key worker and the nursery manager and that's all we can ask for. I am very pleased we chose this nursery for our son.

This is an amazingly set out nursery. The staff are amazing in every aspect. Great family support in continuing your child's routine and bringing your child on. I could n’t recommend this nursery enough, they go above and beyond and the bond all the staff have with my boy amazes me every day. I always

After trawling through so many nurseries and finding none that suited our needs, I stumbled right upon this lovely new gem of a place. We loved the wide-spanning, bright and fresh look of the place, the layout, the toys, the roof-top garden, variety of meals and activities planned. I was impressed by
the nursery manager's knowledge and understanding of child development that I decided to leave my 1st-time anxious parent worries aside and enlist my 1.5-year-old daughter.
I’m glad I did because my daughter is very happy here and she looks forward to going to nursery every time I tell her we are going. She has settled in quite quickly despite my initial worries that it might take her some time to settle.
The “family” app with pictures and videos really helps to reassure us during the day. The children all look attended to and happy. I can't speak highly enough of how flexible, attentive and responsive the staff have been to our needs and requests. Highly recommended!

My daughter is one year two months and has been attending the nursery only on one day as my sister looks after her the other days I am at work, as whilst the snagging problems with the nursery’s opening, due to OFSTED incompetence, she was looking after her.
I wanted my daughter to still have the
opportunity to communicate with children her own age and to start to build friendships. The nursery staff, since sign up, have been so supportive and nothing is ever too much. They’re very caring and the rapport they build with the children is just amazing.
We first visited the nursery just before it was finished completely and my daughter met with a member of staff and a bond was built with her. Even when she was only about seven months old, she responded very positively to her and all my worries just melted away.
The facilities and all the lovely toys are just simply lovely as are all the staff that care for my daughter. Thank you.

Dockside Day Nursery has been excellent for our family. My wife and I both work shifts, and the flexibility and reassurance we get from the team looking after our one year old is fantastic. Our son always seems to have fun and gets to try new experiences and activities all the time. He comes home happy
and tired, and the regular updates of his progress throughout the day on the app keeps our worry at bay and lets us feel part of his day.
We couldn't ask more of the team looking after him, and we highly recommend this nursery!

FANTASTIC! I can not stress enough how amazing this nursery is. I viewed this place before it was open and fell in love instantly. I viewed six nurseries within the area to make sure, but I found myself always comparing it to this one. There, in my opinion, is no better.
Its clean, the facilities
are outstanding and the staff ALL go above and beyond. Not only do they exceed with the service of care, they also build great bonds with the children and parents. It truly is like a family there.
Their manager is so hands-on with everything too which is great to see. The security is spectacular. The family app is brilliant. Its so good I can keep check on the boys with how much they have eaten, how long they have slept, just everything. It's amazing!
I'm a very anxious mum but I have no worries when they are there. Both my children go here, one of the age of two the other eleven months. It is a FANTASTIC place. My youngest has severe allergies and they are so good at accommodating them it's unreal!

My daughter has been attending this nursery from their opening and loves it. I hadn’t needed childcare until she was two so it was a very hard process for us as a family, choosing the right place where we all felt confident and happy. The manager and staff were so supportive in helping me feel comfortable
leaving her and were fantastic supporting her in the transition too. It has fantastic play facilities and the staff create great, playful and learning activities for the children too. She has made lots of friends and her development is enriched by attending this nursery. I would 100% recommend, it’s a great nursery to send your children.

My daughter has been attending Dockside Day Nursery since August.


I was nervous about moving my daughters nursery originally but after meeting the manager and the team those nerves soon went. My daughter hasn’t just settled, she’s blossomed in her new surroundings!


The nursery is clean, even

after messy play! They offer well balanced food and take the children’s opinions of the food seriously. They care for each and every child. When my daughter started, she’d had a set back with her potty training. Within weeks she was going to the toilet! She’s come out of her shell and really enjoys spending time at the nursery.


There’s an app which I can follow her progress and message the staff during the day, to which I always get a speedy response. I can’t recommend this nursery enough. They have been so supportive and any other children we have will be going to this nursery also.

My daughter has settled in so well to this beautiful nursery. The team are fabulous. So friendly and have helped us all as a family to settle her after a previous bad experience. My daughter skips in happily every day looking forward to another day filled with messy play, role play, garden fun and
dragons. Her keyworker is such fun and brings out her imaginative side. The manager is always so friendly and you can tell the whole team really love working with the children.
The menus are always yummy and my daughter eats a variety of foods. She looking forward to the Halloween pinata.
I have already recommended this wonderful place to many friends.

I recently started my little girl at Dockside Day Nursery. Previously she was with her Nan daily as I work full time. Dockside Day Nursery have been amazing, they have catered for my specific needs with child care and timings and have been very supportive with my little girl's training and development.
The things she has learnt so far are brilliant, every day she has done something new and every day she surprises me with her progress.


At first, I was a little worried about putting her in nursery as she was a little unsure about others and quite nervous. She is now blossoming thanks to the nursery and she has made lots of friends that she talks about all the time. The nursery team are brilliant and I couldn't fault anything they are doing. My little one loves it here and I am so happy with everything about the nursery. I am glad this is the nursery we decided on.

My 3-year-old daughter has been attending Dockside since September and absolutely loves it! We were a bit apprehensive but we didn't need to worry as the staff are just wonderful! They have made Elsie feel so welcome and part of the "family" she loves going to her new nursery and literally runs to get
there as she is so excited!


The variety of activities are also really good and I am very impressed with the range of different play activities that also enable her to learn through play (eg play-dough, crafts, messy play the list is endless and best of all the nursery APP means I can receive daily pictures of my daughter with comments about what she has been doing or eating.
My daughter has grown so much in confidence since starting over a month ago and I feel so much more relaxed and happy since she started at Dockside.
I highly recommend this nursery if you are looking for somewhere that genuinely care about your child and encourages and nurtures them.
