Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Cambridge offers children a great early years learning experience.   

With rooms for various age ranges and each room reflects the seven areas of learning, as prescribed in the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Regular classes include sports from a specialist team of sports coaches.

Fees are inclusive of freshly prepared breakfast, lunch, tea, snacks and drinks, branded nappies, wipes and creams.

Daily menus are selected by a professional nutritionist to meet energy requirements of children.

Funding & Fees

  • You will be pleased to hear that we are eligible to receive government funding so children can have 15 hours funded nursery education and care per week starting the term after their second birthday. As we are open for 51 weeks of the year we offer the funding on a stretched claim which means that children access 11.4 hours a week over the whole year. Our children have attended Regent Terrace for over a year now and they have truly thrived developmentally, including socially and emotionally. The staff are really friendly and smiley when I drop my child off. They are happy attending nursery and talk positively about it when at home.
Drop off and pick up can be slow as there is only one door in and out, so you cannot push the buzzer to collect your child if another parent is talking with
staff.

Great nursery with great staff and facilities! Our experience at Monkey Puzzle Regent street has been wonderful since our child was 6 months through to over a year now. They are responsive, helpful, and clearly passionate for childcare and our children’s happiness and health in particular. They’re a
bit pricey £88/day, but it’s about in line with central Cambridge nurseries.

We are extremely satisfied with the high quality of learning, care and staff. That said, we would have been happier to pay the relatively expensive fee if the facilities were newer and more comfortable – we think the toddler room could definitely benefit from a refurbishment. Also, the roadside space
(where parents and children have to spend their waiting time at pick-up and drop-off) can be quite dangerous. We are nonetheless very grateful to the great staff for having played such an essential role in our daughter's development over her second year of life.

My daughter has been at Monkey Puzzle for over 1 year and whilst it was a wrench to return to work being able to place her in a safe environment with her peers has been beneficial for her development.
They use the famly app for communications and updates which we’ve found reassuring and allows us
to feel virtually involved in her day.
The staff have been excellent and have formed wonderful relationships with her and she often talks positively about them at home.
Food was an important consideration for us when choosing a nursery and Monkey Puzzle employ an on-site chef serving up a varied and nutritious menu.
Activities always seem well planned, featuring a different theme each week, with Monkey Puzzle providing photos and updates via the app.
Overall we’ve been very happy with our experience to date and I’m sure our daughter would say the same.

Our 16-month-old daughter has flourished during the past two months since she joined Monkey Puzzle. The nursery has a truly empathic and caring child-centred approach which brings out the best in children.


This was obvious to us starting with the 2 free settling-in weeks (not days!) which, although

challenging, felt very humane and compassionate. Also, at Monkey Puzzle our child was not pre-assigned a key person. Instead, both her and the staff were allowed first to explore with whom our daughter was developing a more secure attachment.


Such nurturing further extends to their thoughtful approach to learning. The knowledgeable staff continuously build on our child's needs and interests, and, by facilitating activities within her zone of proximal development, challenge her to grow while cultivating her joy of learning.


As a result of this exceptionally caring and thoughtful approach, now our child enthusiastically nods 'yes!' every morning when we ask her if she wants to go to nursery.

This is such a lovely nursery. The staff in the baby room are just so delightful. I feel very grateful that my baby is in good hands and I feel that he is safe. His key worker is an absolute Godsent. My child is growing really well with these girls as his teacher.

It is a safe and nurturing environment. My son has been there since he was 20 months old. Everybody was always very attentive, caring and helpful towards him. We always feel that they really care. That was really important to us. There is no conservative, rigid approach to children's behaviour due to
their developmental stages compared to other places we had experienced. Yes, outside space is limited and the fees can be tricky, but people are real and they do look after my son very well. Also, he eats well there, tries new things and the menu they have is really good.

The most valuable thing for me is to see that my daughter loves spending time at the nursery, especially with one member of staff and the other kids. We are happy with the staff and the care she gets. We want her to be as stimulated to learn, play and be curious as possible.
I like the addition of
a doorbell connected to the baby room, as it was a major issue to drop off/pick up my daughter every day.
As a not-so-positive aspect, Monkey Puzzle prices are above the average in town.

My son has been going to the nursery since he was 9 months old. The level of care in the baby room is outstanding, and we are very happy with how he is thriving with the activities and care. They support him in progressing through development with the food, and management has also been great.

Overall this is a good, safe nursery. The staff is professional and has been flexible in trying to accommodate when we needed last-minute additional cover. The staff is knowledgeable. There is a reasonably high staff turnover but this is likely a challenge all nurseries face. There is a clear educational

My son had attended Monkey Puzzle for 18 months and had the best experiences. He was so happy going in each morning and never wanted to come home! My husband and I were so welcomed from the first minute we entered the nursery and it certainly felt like home.

My daughter has spent very pleasant and fruitful six months here. The teachers are very friendly, professional good at communicating and solving all kinds of situations my daughter had. My daughter learned to be friendly and well behaved in this warm family. She learned English in 3 months from zero

Job Title: Nursery Owner and Director Joined: 2017

My name is Thulie and I am a mother to three beautiful children. I spent a considerable amount of time in Sweden and I was very impressed by their take on nursery and pre-school learning, which focuses on child-led learning and creativity, in addition to using the outdoors to encourage exploratory learning. I believe this helps the children at this tender age to develop in leaps and bounds, compared to their peers who are not actively exploring and utilising the natural spaces around them.


I have worked in the City specialising in Finance roles, within multinational companies. Prior to that, I worked in management roles in Social Care, supporting young adults with Autism and Learning Difficulties. The experience I gained in this sector has given me a solid understanding of the importance of Safeguarding, Health and Safety and Compliance within a setting as well as providing a caring and stimulating environment for the people we care for every day.


My promise to parents, who choose to entrust us with their children, is that I will personally work with our very experienced manager and team to create a home-from-home environment for their children and can be confident that their children are getting the best care, cuddles and comfort.
