We are incredibly grateful to everyone at Jesters Danbury for the dedication, warmth, and care you show every day. As a teacher, I had very high expectations when choosing a preschool for my son, but from the moment he joined Jesters, all of my worries disappeared. You have made us feel fully involved in his learning journey and supported us through such a positive transition.

The staff are endlessly caring and truly understand the children. Our son absolutely adores you all, and his confidence, independence, and social skills have grown so much. The school-readiness programme and enriched curriculum have been fantastic, supporting both his academic and emotional development. Watching him thrive has been incredibly special, and we feel so lucky to be part of the Jesters family.

Our son has been attending Jesters for nearly 2 years now, having started at the baby nursery first.
Both practices are impeccable, staff are 10 out of 10 and the variety of activities and learning experiences provided are just amazing.
With an added bonus of extracurricular activities, this nursery provision is an absolute gem!
Having moved my child to Jesters from a different provider, I can wholeheartedly say other childcare provisions within the area are incomparable. This is quite simply the best!

Thank you to Kylie, Phoebe, Rachel, Chyanne and the rest of the wonderful team at Jesters. We are amazed at all of the wonderful things our child is learning on a daily basis: from their recognition of phonics when reading bedtime stories to being able to independently dress themselves, it's lovely to see your child flourish and grow. Your hard work, commitment and care to our child does not go unnoticed and we are very grateful for everything that you do. Thank you x

My little girl has been attending Jesters for around six months now, and I'm genuinely amazed by how much she has progressed in such a short time. She comes home full of excitement, talking about phonics, new songs she has learned, and the lovely quality time she spends with her friends. It's incredibly reassuring to see her confidence growing each week and to know she is truly enjoying her time at nursery.

The staff at the Danbury setting have been nothing short of fantastic. They are warm, patient, and genuinely dedicated to getting to know each child as an individual. The care and attention they give shines through in the way my daughter speaks about them and the experiences she has each day. I feel completely at ease knowing she is in such a nurturing and supportive environment.

I honestly cannot thank the team at Danbury enough for looking after my daughter and helping her grow so beautifully. I would highly recommend Jesters to any parent.

I can't say enough how grateful I am for all the support the Jesters (Danbury) staff have given myself and Edgar over the past 2 months. We have just moved to Danbury and changing settings was never going to be an easy process for a 3 year old, but I am thrilled to see that Edgar is loving going to pre-school! He speaks so highly of the days that he has and the activities he participates in. I have also seen a huge difference in a very short time around his independence with certain things eg. getting himself ready, putting things away, which is all down to the team giving him the confidence to try.

Special shout out to Kylie who has formed such a bond with Edgar. Thank you so much for being so warm and caring. Edgar truly feels like Jesters is a safe place where he can be himself and I know you make him feel very seen.

Thanks again team!

Our daughter recently transitioned from another nearby nursery to Jesters Danbury & we are extremely happy with the care and support they provide.

The loving and nurturing environment given by the key workers has helped her to settle in and flourish over these past few months and every single day, she goes in (and comes out!), with a huge smile on her face.

We're so excited to watch her continue to grow there!!

Amazing! Moved into the area and can say this nursery is night and day in comparison to where we was previously. Updates are amazing and is great to see what they get up to during the day. The team are fantastic and a special shout out to Kylie who is working wonders! Would recommend to anyone in the area and will be returning back when the time arrives.

My son has been attending Jester's now for a few months, having been in another local preschool setting, which was good, there was a big shoes to fill and Jester's has done that and more. The warmth that you'll get from the team, the level of care, but also the commitment to creating and fostering a learning environment is absolutely fantastic. We'd only wish we'd found Jester sooner. Thanks so much everyone.

I am thrilled to have chosen Jesters to look after my son. He is thriving there and speaks wonderful things about all members of staff. We receive regular updates via the parents portal and feel reassurance when seeing them, that he is improving a range of skills. My husband and I too feel comfortable as feedback is always given in a non judgemental manner and warm tone.

My son has been with Jesters at another location setting since he was 10 months old, he's recently moved to the Danbury setting for the school readiness program and he's settled in so well there. The staff are fantastic and made us feel so welcome. He's recently been on a trip out to the museum which he loved and it was so nice to see the photos uploaded to the app so I could see for myself what a great time he had. I have no doubt that over the next year he'll keep thriving there and be ready for school. I highly recommend Jesters!

Since joining Jesters my son has changed and grown so much. He's become so much more outgoing, confident and really enjoys his nursery days and seeing all his friends. The school readiness programme has been brilliant for him and he is really enjoying learning new things and practising what he's learnt at home. His vocabulary amazes me now and he always wants to do things himself or show me things he's learnt. He is getting very excited for school in September but it will be a sad time when he has to leave Jesters as he has formed lovely relationships with all the staff and other children.

My daughter was at the Bickenacre setting since she was 10 months old which we were very happy with. Our son has absolutely flourished at Danbury doing the school readiness programme. He has just soaked up everything and is so ready for school in September. His independence and confidence have grown so much, with the help of the wonderful staff. The activities they do, and the learning opportunities are so well thought out, always with the children and their learning in mind. He has made some lovely friendships and has thrived there. It will be a bittersweet moment the day we leave. We have been with Jesters for nearly 4 years and they have given him the best start he could possibly ask for. I love that it's a small nursery with a lovely character.

My son has been with them for 1 year. Was good at the start but when one of the managers left everything was so bad. Three months ago they didn’t put my son's medicine in his bag and I had to call 111 for emergency medicine, they put wet clothes in his school bag without putting them first in a plastic bag, they called me to pick up my son because they say he getting over-excited. It is just disgusting, if you love your child please don’t bring here.

Update, in the end I have to take my son out of this place for his best.

My child has absolutely loved his time at Jesters in Danbury. The whole team have been amazing from the moment we contacted by email and communications have continued to be fantastic. My child absolutely adores the staff caring for him, so much so he has asked if he can attend more days. My son settled in so quickly with the team, and I appreciate the time they take to update me on how his day has been when I collect him. He has had so many new and different experiences at the nursery, and we have all been delighted with all the different activities he has been doing at the nursery. I am so happy we were lucky enough to find a place here and I would highly recommend this nursery.

I cannot recommend Jesters Danbury more highly! We recently moved to the area; I toured 7 nurseries to find the right fit for our daughter. Jesters was the best choice by far -- everything we've experienced has confirmed this. We love the approaches and ethos. The setting is bright, open, spacious and inviting, with free flow to the charming back garden (there's also a larger garden). But what truly makes Jesters stand out is its people. We received phenomenal support from the Business Manager, who goes above and beyond to assist and welcome parents. The Danbury team are also incredible. They're so lovely and warm, and clearly excellent practitioners. We're so happy with the high standard of care, the well-planned and engaging curriculum, and the terrific communication with parents (in person and via the app). Our daughter (who is naturally very shy) settled straight away. I've never seen her happier to go to nursery. We're so glad we found Jesters!

Phoebe Daniels Job Title: Deputy Nursery School Operations Manager Joined: 2018
Phoebe Daniels
Background

Hello, I am Phoebe, Danbury Deputy Nursery School Operations Manager and our co-located site Bicknacre Nursery Manager – shared role with Becky. I have been working in the childcare sector since 2016, gaining my Level 3 qualification in 2018. I have also completed my Level 4 in Nursery Management in 2020. I started my journey with Jesters as a Nursery Practitioner in 2018, helping to open our sister site in Beaulieu.

The Jesters Family

Working in managerial roles across both sites is such an incredible experience. I love that the children’s personalities are really starting to show, especially the cheeky side! Most of my professional career has been at Jesters, and I love their values and ethos throughout the settings.

Outside Work

Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my partner and my little boy, Dougie. We love to go for walks to the park and explore the wonderful places around us.

Favourite children’s book

Growing up, my favourite book was The Magic Faraway Tree by Enid Blyton. It reminds me of the time I would read it at my Grandma’s house and we talk about which ‘lands’ we wanted to go to. Mine would always be ‘The Land of Dreams!’

Kylie McGregor Job Title: Deputy Nursery School & Curriculum Manager Joined: 2024
Kylie McGregor
Background

Hello, my name is Kylie, and I am the Deputy Nursery School & Curriculum Manager at Danbury. I have a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and have worked in education for over 10 years. I have always known that I wanted to go into teaching, as I am passionate about learning and ensuring that education is accessible to all children.

I was born and raised in South Africa and immigrated with my family in 2021. I worked in a Primary School in South Africa and assisted many nurseries there to enable children to be school-ready. Upon immigrating, I worked in an Infant School as an assistant so as to expand my SEND and curriculum knowledge.

The Jesters Family

I joined Jesters in December 2024 and have been warmly welcomed by all the various team members and children! My role is to work within the School Readiness Programme to enable the children in my care to be as socially, physically, emotionally and intellectually ready for formal schooling.

Outside work

In my spare time, I enjoy being outdoors with my husband and little boy! We love to explore the forests around us and splash in every muddy puddle in sight!

Favourite children’s book

My favourite book is The Dot by Peter H. Reynolds. It is a story of a little girl whose art teacher helps her to develop a ‘can-do’ attitude. Vashti is sure that she can’t draw, but when her teacher puts Vashti’s simple dot picture on display, Vashti begins to think of what else she might be able to draw, too, if she is only willing to give it a try.

I love this book as it embodies a growth mindset and shows that a simple belief from a teacher can spark a child’s potential! I enjoy participating in Dot Day to showcase this book and its underlying message.

Hello, I am the Head of Curriculum & Inclusion, developing and nurturing our Jesters pre-schoolers. I have always had an immense passion for helping others and making a difference, and because of this, I always knew I wanted to work with children, positively impacting their lives and helping them thrive and learn.

The Jesters Family

Growing up, I always admired my teachers and couldn’t wait until I could inspire other young children, too. I completed my University Degree in Early Years and Primary Education and QTS Qualifications, and have been working in childcare and education since 2014. I have loved every minute and continue to do so here at Jesters.

Outside work

In my spare time, I enjoy walking and cuddling my two dogs, Ralph and Willow; they are adorable and playful. I also enjoy spending time with my family, watching movies and cooking each other’s dinners.

Favourite children’s book

My favourite children’s book is Superworm by Julia Donaldson. This book has been extremely lucky for me, as I based an activity and lesson around it, and thankfully, I was successful. It is also an excellent read for children and my go-to in the classroom. I know firsthand that the children enjoy it as much as I enjoy reading it to them.

Outside work

In my spare time, I enjoy watching a good documentary or my favourite football team. I love reading, gardening and being outdoors.

Favourite children’s book
