Partou Fern Bank Day Nursery & Pre-school in Fulwood provides high-quality childcare and education for children aged from birth to five years.

Staff hold NVQs in childcare, paediatric first aid certificates, safeguarding training and have all undergone enhanced DBS checks. Modern security systems are in place to ensure children’s safety, including CCTV in all rooms and secure door entry.

The nursery and pre-school - situated opposite Preston College - is separated into two spacious buildings: one for babies up to the age of two, and another with separate playrooms for toddlers and preschoolers.

Fern Bank's baby rooms are filled with soothing rocking chairs, cosy cots, fun dens and stimulating toys. Soft tigers, snakes, elephants and lions await the children in a spectacular Jungle Room filled with sparkling lights and giant ferns.

The separate pre-school building is filled with exciting educational toys and resources, including a mini-kitchen where children can cook in a real-life kitchen that's just their size.

As well as newly refurbished playrooms, the nursery has a fabulous grassy outdoor area which comes complete with tunnels, an enchanted cabin, a water wall, bug hotel, mud kitchen and sandpit.

The children have easy access to the outdoors, including a sensory garden where children are encouraged to play and learn in the outdoor area every day, come rain or shine.

The nursery chef serves freshly prepared meals and snacks from a healthy seasonal menu bursting with fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. The delicious menu can be altered to suit any special dietary requirements.

Fern Bank's qualified team of childcare professionals provides care and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning activities based on each individual child’s likes, interests and needs.

The nursery offers term time only places, discounts are available for NHS & Military Staff as well as sibling discounts.

Very welcoming staff and professional manner at all times. Lovely nursery and my daughter is always happy. Homemade meals and lovely baby rooms. Lots of activities to suit all children of different ages.

A lovely friendly nursery with happy staff.
Our daughter has come on leaps and bounds since she started here and she absolutely loves it. The buildings are well set up, clean and full of things for the children to do.

Excellent job from the team. My twin girls started at the age of ten months and since then they have learned a lot after they started to assist the nursery, and they look quite confident and happy with the staff.

My daughter has been going to Fern Bank since she was nine months old and absolutely loves it. She has learnt so much and I truly believe that’s due to the wonderful staff spending quality time with her. She has a special bond with her teacher and it’s wonderful to see. Fern Bank are always flexible
and have always tried to accommodate our needs. Would highly recommend them.

Very helpful and friendly nursery, my children seem really happy there. The staff notice and indulge the children's interests to organising dedicated activities around them and encourage teamwork and cooperation with the other children and more than willing to align with any home events, or teaching
s such as the arrival of a new baby or potty training. Very adaptable, and welcoming nursery. We've been kept well informed with any changes at the nursery and they encourage parental feedback and have made changes in relation to such feedback.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to all at Fern Bank for their support to my granddaughter. She's had a few little problems due to her health along the way but all the support from staff has helped and they have worked with us to overcome these. She absolutely loves coming to the nursery and tell
us all about what lovely things she's done and had to eat. A big well done and thank you to all. Would recommend no problem.

After viewing a number of settings, Fern Bank really stood out as number one for my husband and l. The practitioner that did the show around was amazing, warm, friendly and knowledgable. As you walk into the baby room there was a warm feel which l can not put into words but it felt right. The practitioner
spoke about some of the activists that take place and the opportunities of learning available for the children. As a parent it can be very daunting having a child at nursery, I felt a lot of guilt and concern, but l had nothing to worry about, l was and l am still reassured.
My son has settled amazingly well and that is thanks to every single practitioner that has come into contact with him. When we get in nursery now he jumps off my arms and runs towards a practitioner to give them a hug. That just makes me so happy. I am confident that my son is in a loving caring environment with ample learning opportunities. Thank you Fern Bank.

Fern Bank is an amazing nursery. My son has settled in very well and loves going to nursery each day. The staff are kind, helpful and care for my son excellently. My son has been with this nursery since it opened, so has gone through all the rooms here and I can honestly say that after we tried three other nurseries before he started at Fern Bank. I'm just so glad that he is at this one, he is very settled here and loves all the staff. The rooms are well equipped
with everything and more for each age group. The garden is like something out of Teletubbies, so sweet and they have a log cabin that is all done up like Santas grotto throughout December. They also have a jungle sensory room, it's absolutely amazing. My son loves it and strives to learn here. The staff are so supportive like when I was trying to potty train him, it was difficult. The staff here are absolutely amazing, one great long-standing member of the team who my son trusts put his big boy pants on him whilst in nursery and she encouraged him, sent him home that night with his big boy pants on and they did it. He even sleeps dry every night, no pull-ups at all. I can't thank them enough.

When I viewed the nursery for my daughter, I was given such a warm welcoming and felt a genuinely relaxed and comfortable atmosphere within the nursery. From choosing the nursery we were given a place straight away and were given taster sessions within one week. We then started the week after. The application
process was thorough and also informative but easy to do. Due to it being my daughter’s first time within a nursery she was upset for the first few weeks in the mornings but was happy and cheerful when collecting her. The daily sheets provided are so helpful in knowing what she’s eaten, when she’s changed and also when she’s slept. It’s such a good idea that not many nurseries follow. Now my daughter is happy to go to nursery and leaves without any tears. Just this morning when I left the nursery I saw her giving the nursery practitioner an extremely long cuddle. This was so heartwarming and reassuring as a parent. I genuinely couldn’t recommend enough.

We found Fern Bank to provide a great nursery service for our 3-year-old daughter, who has attended there for over a year now. The staff are friendly and helpful. The venue is modern and well presented. The prices are very reasonable too compared to other nurseries, especially as meals and nappies are
included. Would definitely recommend.

This was the first time my son was ever left somewhere and he loved it. He loved his key worker so much and every other staff member in his room. Great Friendly staff, really supportive when getting child to settle.
Don’t update very well on what your child has actually done that day, also eats and nappies etc.
Can’t fault the nursery nurses but can’t comment on management as you never see them.

This Nursery is amazing in absolutely all areas. Spotlessly clean, the food served to children is varied and enjoyed by my daughter. The staff are fantastic, great attitudes to parents, children and their work. They offer many aspects of play opportunities, both staff and self-led, which is key to the
children's development. Their standard of care is their priority and all the children seem to be happy.
