Partou Fern Bank Day Nursery & Pre-school in Fulwood provides high-quality childcare and education for children aged from birth to five years.

Staff hold NVQs in childcare, paediatric first aid certificates, safeguarding training and have all undergone enhanced DBS checks. Modern security systems are in place to ensure children’s safety, including CCTV in all rooms and secure door entry.

The nursery and pre-school - situated opposite Preston College - is separated into two spacious buildings: one for babies up to the age of two, and another with separate playrooms for toddlers and preschoolers.

Fern Bank's baby rooms are filled with soothing rocking chairs, cosy cots, fun dens and stimulating toys. Soft tigers, snakes, elephants and lions await the children in a spectacular Jungle Room filled with sparkling lights and giant ferns.

The separate pre-school building is filled with exciting educational toys and resources, including a mini-kitchen where children can cook in a real-life kitchen that's just their size.

As well as newly refurbished playrooms, the nursery has a fabulous grassy outdoor area which comes complete with tunnels, an enchanted cabin, a water wall, bug hotel, mud kitchen and sandpit.

The children have easy access to the outdoors, including a sensory garden where children are encouraged to play and learn in the outdoor area every day, come rain or shine.

The nursery chef serves freshly prepared meals and snacks from a healthy seasonal menu bursting with fruit, vegetables, meat and fish. The delicious menu can be altered to suit any special dietary requirements.

Fern Bank's qualified team of childcare professionals provides care and Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) learning activities based on each individual child’s likes, interests and needs.

The nursery offers term time only places, discounts are available for NHS & Military Staff as well as sibling discounts.

My daughter has just finished her last week in Fern Bank Day Nursery. I would like to say thanks to every single member who has been looking after her over the last 3 years. I am more than happy and satisfied with my daughter's experience in this place. All the staff are lovely and friendly. My daughter
was looking forward to going to the nursery in the morning and she never made a fuss of being there. I will definitely, recommend this nursery for anyone who is looking for a safe, friendly and healthy environment for his child. Thanks Fern Bank Nursery staff.

We are extremely happy with this nursery. My daughter enjoys going and doesn’t cause a fuss when being dropped off, which speaks volumes.
I would like it if the children went outside more, on walks, etc.
The food is very varied, and they were happy to adapt to different dietary requirements when
we were testing things out for medical purposes.

My son has been attending this nursery since he was 1 and is just about to finish pre-school, his time here has been amazing. My son is happy to go and always tells me he’s had a good day when I pick him up. The staff are friendly and well trained and you can tell they care deeply for him and look after
all the kids like one big family. He’s come along leaps and bounds being here and the staff have supported me and my son all the way through. It’s fun, spacious, clean and most importantly, very tailored to your child’s personal needs. I 100% recommend this nursery and I’m sad to be saying goodbye and I know my boy will be too!

Fern Bank Private Day Nursery and Pre-school is a brilliant nursery. The staff have remained consistent over the past three years which is great and they are all warm, welcoming and really care. My daughter loves all of her ‘teachers’ and is keen to get back to nursery after the weekend as she has missed
everyone! She started at just 9 months old and settled in quickly and we were certain that she was safe and happy. She has developed so much thanks to all of the opportunities she is provided with by the Fern Bank team.

I couldn’t recommend this nursery enough, they have been absolutely brilliant with my son. He started in September 2022 and has just finished. He was really shy and very upset at the start but the staff at Fern Bank Private Day Nursery and Pre-school helped him so much to become himself and he loved
it. The staff were just brilliant, couldn’t say anything bad about this nursery.
My twins are going to be attending this nursery next year and I am 100% happy that they will love it.

My little boy has been there since 1 year old and is loving every minute of being there. He is now just over 2 and moved into the toddler class. He has developed and flourished so beautifully with thanks to the wonderful staff. As a parent, it’s always hard to leave your child with anyone, especially
in the care of a stranger. I have felt nothing but trust, respect and love from every member of staff at the nursery. Management is really good and she’s very compassionate, caring and supportive. Honestly, it’s an amazing nursery!

My son truly gets excited when we pull up at the nursery, you can tell the special bond he has with all of the teachers, especially one member of staff in particular is just so natural.
The fact my son is happily going to nursery really puts me at ease and I know he is taken care of.
My son has progressed
a lot recently and the space you have and the time you give him to let him explore really is helping to build his skills and confidence which adds to his happy self.

My three babies have been at Fern Bank Day Nursery now since September, the youngest being four months at the time. My three and two year old were there previously as I attended college across the road and have loved it.
Staff go above and beyond to make sure children feel safe and happy and the manager
does an amazing job too, very easy to approach if needed. Highly recommended.

My daughter’s nursery is excellent. The staff treat the children like they would their own. My daughter lights up when she sees almost every member of staff in the mornings. The nursery is flexible and amenable to changes in your own life that mean more/less days are needed at short notice. My daughter
loves the food and the activities. She is always happy when she gets into nursery and is always having fun when I arrive - which I can see from the window when I arrive. There is a decent amount of outdoor space - they work with what they have. Their opening hours are also helpful to working parents. Overall, I couldn’t recommend them enough and was so happy we made the choice we did.

Fantastic pre-school and fantastic staff too, any issues or concerns I've had regarding my daughter (big or small) the staff are available to help/chat and resolve any concerns. I really can't fault this nursery on any level. Our son is happy and settled at Fern Bank, and it's obvious that he enjoys himself every day at the nursery. The staff are friendly, helpful, approachable and really do try their best to make the children happy and contented. They arrange days out for
the children on picnics, walks in the woods etc, really good fun for the children. Overall an excellent choice - and a nursery that I would highly recommend.

My daughter started at Fern Bank after moving from another nursery, the staff at Fern Bank made her transition smooth and enjoyable for both my daughter and myself.


The children's likes and dislikes are taken into consideration for all activities incorporated into the nursery setting and as a parent,

I am frequently asked to update any new interests my daughter has for them to involve them during her day.


My daughter couldn't be happier at Fern Bank, the staff are absolutely lovely and I couldn't recommend them enough!

My daughter has been attending Fern Bank a while now, when she started she was 8 months old and she’s now 16 months, and she’s come on so well, she loves going and I’ve got to say the girls are brilliant nothing is ever too much to ask, and my daughter goes to them every time got a good bond with them.
The manager is a lovely lady always helped me accommodate my days etc. I would highly recommend this nursery.
