AN INSPIRING EARLY LEARNING AND CHILDCARE CENTRE IN ABERDEEN

The charming Aberdeen early learning and childcare centre is designed to support your child’s development from 3 months to 5 years.

They love to nurture and develop your child’s curiosity for the world around them, whether it be through regular French lessons or the dedicated ‘Book Nook’—where they can explore the adventures of their favourite book characters.

To further support your child, they can also bend, hammer and construct in the woodwork shed and let their imagination run wild with the supply of ‘Loose Parts Play’ materials. This gives your child open access to raw materials and the tools to craft them into their very own creations.

With the childcare centre being in such an ideal location, your child will also be guided on regular trips by the experienced childcare team. This includes visits to the local park, library and other landmarks to build their sense of connection with the local community.

An enriching Ready for School programme gives every child the opportunity to gain knowledge and confidence to thrive in school and beyond.

The staff would love to meet you and your child, so book your visit today and they will show you everything the childcare centre has to offer during your own personal tour.

We had a wonderful experience with Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin, we always knew that our daughter was well looked after, eating healthy food, doing activities in small group, encourage to improve herself and no screen and this last point is so important to us.
Thank you for all the smiley faces

My children have attended 24 St Swithin Street for over 4 years and I am continuously impressed by the standard of care provided. The staff do a phenomenal job of developing the children, fostering thier interests and preparing them for school. I also only have good things to say regarding the management
of the nursery, we get great handovers, supporting information and clear communication - it is obvious that the manager cares greatly for the children and the service the nursery provides.
I was concerned about the size of the outdoor space but having been at the nursery you see how well they use the space and make use of other green spaces near by (Queens cross gardens and the playing fields).
24 St Swithin Street is an excellent nursery and I will continue to recommend it to friends and colleagues.

My son has attended this nursery since 2021 and is now in preschool. The staff are excellent, we couldn't ask for a better service. All staff are very caring and nurturing. Our child has also shown remarkable growth since starting nursery and we attribute much of that to the great team who have gone
above and beyond to ensure my son's needs are met. The manager of the nursery is very knowledgeable and has really helped and supported us throughout my son's time at the nursery and we couldn't ask for anything more. I would recommend Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin to any parent seeking a place where their child will be cared for.

Our son joined Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin during the pandemic as a shy 1 year old and today we have just celebrated his graduation from the nursery where, for the past four years, he has thrived under the care and kindness of the staff and environment of 24 St Swithin. We have been so grateful
for the way in which the staff, at every stage of our son's journey, have supported him and helped him learn all of the skills and behaviours that will stand him in excellent stead for starting school. The manager is a best-in-class leader for the nursery and genuinely cares to seek feedback and drive improvements for all. I would, in particular, like to recognise how the staff have helped our son get ready for school - with a structured framework, they have ensured to support him in the areas he needs most, ensuring he can confidently start primary one. We have had nothing but an excellent experience with this nursery and would highly recommend to any parents who are considering putting their children here.

I have dealt with this nursery for 3+ years now, with both my children attending with my youngest now in the preschool. I can't fault this nursery and the staff; they all work incredibly hard and build wonderful relationships with the children and the parents. My eldest had a peanut allergy, and I felt
the nursery always took this very seriously and helped to age-appropriately educate him on this. I feel safe in the knowledge that my children are looked after and safeguarded properly in this nursery, and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

Our little one loves going to nursery every day. She had a tough start, but the staff advised us how to get her more comfortable with the new environment and now she's in five days a week. The amount of different activities each day is impressive and means I won't need to do any messy play with her
at home!

Bright Horizons 24 St Swithin and all the staff go above and beyond for learning, development and caring for my daughter. An extremely professional nursery that provides children with the right tools for development. They spend lots of time outdoors exploring, playing and caring for plants. All the
staff are friendly and really open to provide the best options that fit with the parent's choices and the nursery. It's been a pleasure being part of this nursery in the last years.

My children have a wonderful experience at this nursery. I have highly recommended this nursery to many of my other mum friends. It is hard to leave your children in the care of others but the nursery staff have my complete trust. They have lots of great loose part play both outside and inside. They
continue to develop and change activities and play so what my elder did in babies and infants is different to what my younger is doing. They are great at encouraging the interests of each individual child but also at expanding on new interests. They have a good mix of structured and unstructured play and my elder child has grown in confidence during their time at this nursery.

My daughter started nursery in October this year, and although the usual settling in period couldn't be carried out due to the pandemic, the staff at the nursery kept me at ease and gave me as much information as possible. My daughter absolutely loves going to nursery and hasn't shed a single tear at
drop off, she toddles in excited to start her day playing and learning with all of her friends. After only a couple of months at nursery, the change in her development really shows, she is much more confident and has developed so many skills. The staff do a brilliant job encouraging her to grow and develop whilst doing activities that she loves. I really feel that this nursery goes above and beyond, and I can't recommend them enough!

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.656)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.656) out of 10 for Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.907 for Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin is calculated as follows: ( (99 Excellents x 5) + (8 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 4.907
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.749 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Bright Horizons at 24 St Swithin is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 53 number of registered child places is 10.6. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.6 = 0.849
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
