Hitchin House Day Nursery opened in March 2020. It was started by a team of very experienced nursery professionals who set out to offer something truly different and special - a magical play and learning environment for children aged up to 5 years.

From the highly experienced team of staff to the superb equipment and resources, every aspect of the nursery has been carefully considered to ensure that children are safe, engaged, excited and encouraged to develop a love of learning and discovery.

I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Hitchin House. My little one had been to three other nurseries before coming into Hitchin House. Throughout her nursery life, she was always very anxious to the point she would make herself sick. She wasn't eating or sleeping and was constantly wetting
herself. Hitchin House was my last hope. From the moment we stepped inside for her first day, I knew as a mother this was where I wanted my child to be. The atmosphere was calm, the children seemed happy, and the staff were happy and engaging with the children. Her key person was amazing when she did her entry assessment. She was calm and gave my little one a lot of attention. All of a sudden my little one agreed to go up for her settle. I held my breath waiting for the tears or for her to be sick, instead, it was all smiles and I also got a little wave. Ever since that day, I knew she was in safe hands. She always was happy when I came to collect her. I could not ask for anything more.

We really appreciate the wide range of activities our child is being engaged in, the daily updates, and the various environments that are available – workshop, garden, theatre, library, climbing wall, Montessori area, dining area where they can enjoy yummy meals cooked from scratch on-site.
We are
also grateful for the special extras, such as the weekly dance classes, tea parties and Sunday craft clubs.
But most importantly, what fills our hearts with gratitude and joy, is seeing that our child thrived so much on all levels since she joined the nursery. And this is thanks to the amazing teachers and staff who are passionate and caring and always open to communicate and provide tailored support, whether that means brightening up a grumpy morning, potty learning or taking the time to speak to a parent on an ad hoc basis. So, whether they are qualified as pre-school or Montessori teachers, or nursery educators, everyone at Hitchin House wears a wizard cloak and we are very grateful for their magic.

Excellent staff that are very attentive. My son can’t wait to run through the door every morning without so much of a ‘bye mum’, which is a testament to how keen he is to spend the day there. He’s been there 8-months now, and we’re very happy with Hitchin House Day Nursery.

I absolutely love this nursery. Amazing facilities and carers. Both my children are so happy here. The level of care they receive is brilliant. And they're exposed to a range of brilliant activities each day. They love going in and then leave with big smiles on their faces. We couldn't be happier.

Hitchin House is a fantastic nursery and we feel extremely lucky that our son is able to attend here. The staff are wonderful - you can see they really enjoy their work and I'm never in any doubt about the quality of care my son receives. The rooms themselves are totally engaging, filled with brilliant
toys and equipment, and the activities on offer every day are fun and varied. My son enjoys every day here. I would confidently recommend Hitchin House to anyone.

I am very happy with Hitchin House Day Nursery. The staff are excellent, they really do care about the children and there is not a high turnover so the children have consistency and stability. The nursery has a Montessori type approach and the children are free to engage in what interests them, with
a gentle hand now and again helping to steer them in the right direction! I would not hesitate in recommending Hitchin House Day Nursery to other parents.

Our daughter absolutely loves it at nursery. She can't wait to leave the house early in the morning (shoes on, coat on, bag in hand waiting at the door) and has the biggest smile on her face when we collect her.

My eldest child loves it here and my youngest seems to be having a great time too (started recently).
The staff all seem lovely and the children get a lot of activities and outside time.

My son has been at Hitchin House Nursery for almost 2 years and his time there has exceeded our expectations. The nursery is an extremely loving and nurturing environment for young children, providing them with a range of fun and engaging activities to support their early year's development. The staff
are exceptional; the love and care they show for the children are reflected in their work and their communication keeps parents up to date as to what their children are doing and how the nursery is operating as a whole. The skills that my son has gained at the nursery have been invaluable and he absolutely loves going in every morning! Couldn’t rate it enough for prospective parents, it is a relationship with the whole family!

A lovely nursery, with fantastic facilities and very friendly staff. My daughter loves going and when she is at home, always happily chats about it and the friends she has there. She always looks to be having a great time, whilst playing with very varied toys and doing fun activities in the photo updates
we get.

Wonderful team, wonderful space. Have been incredibly impressed with the quality of care and the emphasis on learning through play. Our son is very happy there and we will be very sad to head off to school this September.

My child has been here for 8 months now and they love it. The nursery staff are attentive in communications, sending daily photos and are always on the other end of the phone. They have tried to navigate through covid really well and I trust them to look after my child and recommend them to everyone
I meet. The facilities are first-rate and include a huge range to stimulating activities. Love it.

Our son attends the nursery and his face lights up as soon as arrives as he clearly loves being there. The staff are great and they all seem to genuinely love what they do. Leaving your child in someone else’s care especially from 9 months old is a big thing and the team at Hitchin House Day Nursery
made that transition easier by showing me how much they cared for our little boy and his specific needs, routine behaviour. We get updated throughout the day with pictures and videos of what he’s doing and it’s lovely to see as well as hear how he’s getting on. He nearly always has a huge smile on his face!
I think the team at Hitchin House Day Nursery have created a wonderful environment with lots of love and with children’s creativity and development at the forefront of everything they do. If you are looking for a nursery, go and see it in action for yourself but you won’t be disappointed!

From the moment you visit the nursery, you know every child will be engaged, happy, comfortable and looked after to high standards. The environment created in every class ( my two children have been in 3 of the 4 rooms they have because of their ages) is outstanding, resources, staff and approach are
brilliant. I have never left that place without a smile or worry. My eldest looks forward to nursery every day, she constantly let us know what she does and learns and how it suits every demand her little brain needs. They follow their curiosity and turn them into an educational activity. The communication about progress and activities is always there, staff is always there to answer questions whatever they are. I’m happy to recommend this nursery for anyone preparing their little ones into school, the extra support they do for the “school leavers” is brilliant. I haven’t heard of it in any other nurseries in the area that are also outstanding. Couldn’t be happier, we are lucky to be in!

Both my children attend(ed) Hitchin House spanning the last two years, 5 days a week and across rooms as they've grown and has been a wonderful experience. The children are loved, cared for and have so much fun! The team are great at communicating, highly skilled and build development into their training.
In addition, my son has complex and serious food allergies and they have been exceptional in including him and keeping him safe - we work together as a team. Would recommend Hitchin House to anyone!

My son has been attending Hitchin House Day Nursery since June 2021 and I have nothing but praise for the nursery and all staff. The care they show the children is second to none, they are fantastic caregivers and show the children a wonderful experience of the world through messy play, storytime, sing
and sign, as well as many others.
I receive daily updates on my child and it feels me with confidence when I see how well he is thriving.
Hitchin House put the children and staff first which has been exemplary, especially with the challenges of the pandemic of the last few years.

Truly the best!
Big on active learning, lots of reading time, arts and crafts, music, dance, exploring the natural world, outdoor play.
Passionate, caring, and qualified teachers and staff.
Always immediate clear, open and honest communication.
Facilities are incredible, they have a library, a theatre,
a dance studio, a climbing wall, construction area, home corner and probably more I can’t remember!
They have an outstanding chef/kitchen staff who create varied and healthy menus.
My daughter loves going here, she has a joy of learning which I believe will lead to a love of school.

My youngest daughter attends pre-school at Hitchin House Day Nursery. From the first moment she stepped inside the building she was enthralled. The wide variety of activities on offer, from arts and crafts to yoga and outdoor play in their enclosed garden. She leaves each day with a massive smile, and
often with a pile of pictures clutched in one hand, tired but happy. The staff are all wonderful and kind and we wholeheartedly would recommend this nursery.
