The Old Station Nursery Oxford, located at the heart of Oxford Science Park, caters to local families, as well as those who work within the grounds. It is ideal for working families, with easy access to the offices at the park and convenient transport links via local buses or footpaths. The nursery offers exceptional care, enriched by unique learning opportunities for your child. One such experience is child-friendly cooking classes, helping to equip children with valuable skills and deeper knowledge of the cooking process.

The nursery building is spacious, with a bright interior and a beautiful outdoor play area. It comprises of three distinct rooms, each designed to support the developmental needs of children in different age groups.

The qualified and passionate nursery team is committed to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages the growth and development of every child.

For children under two years, a secure and comfortable room is offered, with soft play equipment, mirrors, musical instruments, and other educational toys to facilitate exploration and learning. Activities are tailored to the individual needs, interests and abilities of each child. Toddlers can progress to a slightly more structured room with age-appropriate resources, such as books, painting materials and a 'home corner' play area.

As children approach Pre-School age, they advance to a dedicated room where the team help them to prepare for primary school. The nursery has established relationships with local schools to facilitate a smooth transition for children and parents alike. The recent implementation of the 'Brighter Learning Approach', supports in school preparation, enriching the core curriculum provision by encouraging natural curiosity and cultivating key skills, knowledge, and attitudes that promote lifelong success and happiness.

My little boy started at The Old Station Nursery just before his 1st birthday, and we have been very happy with how he has got on there. In this last year, we have seen him gain confidence and develop into a communicative little toddler. The nursery/baby room has a very friendly and calm atmosphere,
and I felt that the carers there were experienced and attentive to the children. When my son was very young, they were very accommodating with his routine for naps and mealtimes. They did a range of activities each day, and the outside play area was great. My little boy really loved his key worker, and she gave us lots of updates on the app, photos, comments and video, which I found invaluable. This also meant that on the days and weekends he was with us, we could continue some of the activities and books he had been doing at nursery.

My son moved to this nursery in August 2019 and has settled in extremely well. The staff always go above and beyond and are fantastic with the children as well as with the parents. I was very impressed with the quality of the facilities, the outdoor space, the development and learning implemented. My
son although only 1 has already made friends, grown in confidence and adores his key workers who we (his parents) have a good and trusted relationship with.
Keep up the great work The Old Station Nursery.

This nursery has been absolutely wonderful, the staff are friendly and have made my child grow in so many ways. I would recommend this place to anyone that is looking for a nursery where their child would be happy and learn so much.
They are always there to listen if you have a problem and nothing
is to much trouble.

My daughters (4 and 1) have had a wonderful experience at The Old Station and have thrived in the happy, safe, stimulating environment. The rooms and facilities are excellent, especially the outdoor space which has evolved throughout the year to include more learning and playing opportunities for the
children. The staff in the preschool and baby room have been so supportive to our family and cared so well for the children. Very much recommended!

A welcoming setting where my child is happy and settled. The staff are friendly and professional and I have no concerns about leaving my child.
I appreciate being kept well up to date on his learning and all the activities they do. The food menu is varied and they encourage the children to eat new
foods and cut their food and use cutlery.
I'm glad this nursery was recommended to us!

The team in the baby room have made it so easy for me to go back to work after my maternity leave. My son is so happy when I drop and pick him up and has become so much more confident from being there.

Daughter has been attending for over a year now and was one of the first set of children to be present when the establishment was new to the area. We have witnessed progression after progression as numbers increased to what is now a fantastic and warming nursery. We leave our child there with a real
sense of feeling that our child will be looked after, will learn and develop while being in a safe and secure environment. We have seen our daughter develop great relationships with the excellent and reassuring staff there and witnessed her development as a child partly down to her time here.
Would certainly recommend any parent to this place for their child.

A really caring place for our toddlers aged 1 and 3. Plenty of variety in the activities offered physical, sensory and emotional stimulation. Good use of the outside space and a chance for siblings of different ages to interact which was lovely for us and our children. Lovely food and great at accommodating
special dietary requirements. Even though our children only attended one day a week they were properly known and loved by the staff. Good feedback at the end of the day as to how our children had slept, eaten and what they had enjoyed.

We struggled to find a setting we were happy with until we found The Old Station Nursery. My son has so much fun every day, with different activities and lots of outside time always available. He is so happy to go to nursery and I eventually found somewhere I was happy to leave him!

Our daughter has been coming to the nursery since the beginning of July and we have nothing other than praise and gratitude for the level of care and commitment towards our daughter.
Our daughter's key person is very caring, loving and interested in the development of the children in her care, she
even tries to speak to our daughter in Spanish as she knows how important this is for my husband and I.
Three other members of staff have also been instrumental to the successful two months of our daughter's time at the nursery.
We would recommend them with the eyes closed.

Our daughter moved from another nursery to this one and we are so glad that she did. The building is large and clean and full of stimulating toys and activities. The staff go out of their way to make both the children and their parents as comfortable and valued as they can. They are so friendly and
approachable and they ensure that they really focus on the individual needs of each child. The outdoor providers who come in and do activities with the children keep each day fun and interesting for the children too.

Before my daughter joined The Old Station Nursery I was worried about leaving her with people I didn't know. As I'm sure all parents are! But after meeting the staff at Old Station Nursery... it didn't take long for me and my daughter to feel comfortable.. they really are incredible!!! My daughter is
so happy at nursery! I would recommend this nursery to everyone!! Amazing!

They offer the personal touch and go out of their way to make my girl happy e.g. sleeping aids. I like the 'feel' of the nursery, it feels like a home from home. It's a very happy, caring environment and my girl picks up on this - she is very happy.

Hello, I'm Charlotte and I'm the Nursery Manager here at The Old Station Nursery Oxford. I am qualified BA Hons in Early Years.


We have a really friendly team here in Oxford and enjoy following the children’s interests in all that we do. We are really convenient for parents who work on the Park, but we also welcome all local families
