About this price
How funding is applied, how the monthly figure is calculated.More info
- Working parents of children aged 9 months to 2 years can usually claim up to 30 funded hours a week. The working-parent hours depend on each parent meeting the minimum earnings rules and earning under £100,000 a year. This nursery stretches funded hours across 51 weeks of the year. You've selected 30 funded hours.
- This nursery applies up to 10 funded hours per day, stretched across 51 weeks of the year. With your selected funding, 22.4 hours are covered each week. Hours beyond this, including the early and late parts of the day, are charged at the standard rate.
- We work out the total cost across the year and divide by 12, so the figure shown is a smoothed monthly average. In practice, nurseries bill in different ways. Some bill monthly at this average. Others bill weekly, or charge for what happened that week or month, which can vary across the year. Confirm billing details with the nursery when you enquire.

Parkhill Nursery is run by a fabulous team of specialist nursery teachers and teaching assistants. Both of my children have been enrolled at the nursery and we as parents can’t speak more highly of the level of care and nurturing that they received there. As parents, you often wonder if your child will be happy once you have dropped them off or whether they are struggling, but you can rest assured that the team go out of their way to ensure that they are entertained throughout the day and will support parents to overcome any initial teething issues when they first start. The Manager and her team played a vital role in helping get my daughter settled in so quickly, especially with her having had little to no time away from my wife and I, due to the Covid pandemic. They have left a delightful, lasting impression on her, to the point that her eyes light up when we mention her teacher's names or that she will be going to school that morning. We can’t thank them enough!

My son moved from a day nursery to Park Hill School & Nursery for Second Steps and settled in immediately. The staff are welcoming and enthusiastic and, even with the many Covid restrictions, good at involving you in your child’s progress. It was a great foundation for his move to reception this year. The nursery classes are very much included with the rest of the school and are involved in things like school productions which is great for them (and very sweet). I would definitely recommend Park Hill.
Park Hill has provided an attentive and nurturing environment for our three children. Both First and Second Steps staff are highly qualified and keep parents informed of the progress of children and work collaboratively to ensure that children achieve their best.

Park Hill is a wonderful nursery. Our son, who started there when just turned two, has absolutely flourished. Now in his pre-school year, and thanks to the brilliant teachers and staff, he is confident, happy and making brilliant progress in all aspects of learning (from maths to woodland school and everything in between). The whole school ethos gives even the littlest children a real sense of belonging and great role models to look up to. I would recommend the nursery to anyone looking to give their child a great foundation to take into their school years and beyond.

When we did the initial visit, the Headmaster took us round for a tour and we were able to visit each class. When we got to Year 6 (age 10-11), the Headmaster asked what the children were up to; one little girl said that they had been reading the Shakespeare play Richard III, another rose to say that they'd all written their own version of the play, and then a final child got up to say that one of those plays had been chosen and they were going to make it on green screen.
I was struck not just by the confidence and the engagement of the children, but also the opportunities they were being given - I'd have loved that when I was little - with that and the classroom technology focus, it's an easy decision to keep our son here right the way through.
My children have flourished at Park Hill. The best decision I have made for their future. A small school with small classes which means extra attention. There's a real community amongst the parents and the school.

My girl has blossomed at Park Hill. The teachers are caring and very attentive, we could not be happier. The staff as well is always very positive, there is always a welcoming smile when they open the door and you feel you are leaving your child in good hands, which is very important for parents!

Since he joined Second Steps last September he has really grown up; the teachers are very dedicated to the development of each child. They hold many events throughout the year so we feel part of the school community. Great nursery and school!
