What an amazing nursery, I could not recommend it more! The staff are excellent, my son has progressed so much in the short amount of time he has been here.
The staff are so loving towards my child and very reassuring. I feel my child is in very safe hands when he goes into nursery and I know he
is very much cared for by all the staff here.

Brabyns nursery gives children the best start. The setting is wonderful, resources are updated frequently, the staff are best in class and where relevant (kindergarten) the education is superb - a winning formula!
Without a doubt, the best in Marple and the surrounding area.

Much more than your everyday 'Private Day Care Nursery'.
My little boy is 2.5 years old and has excelled in all areas since starting Brabyns.
Not only is the standard of teaching outstanding, the staff look after each and every pupil in such a nurturing way.
The staff take a genuine interest in each
child, they are warm, welcoming, friendly.
My little boy gets cuddles off the teachers every day.
He loves it here.

Fantastic. My children have flourished at Brabyns Preparatory School, Spanish lessons being their particular favourite. All of the team are adept at quickly identifying the right amount of nurture and challenge needed by each child. Warm, fun and friendly. Top class!

My son started in November after just turning two years old. The nursery teacher and her team welcome my son every morning with beautiful smiles, ensuring he always feels welcomed. This is so important as it shows they genuinely care and want my son to feel part of the nursery. All the staff take the
time to speak to me and ask questions relevant to the developmental progress of my child.
I feel comfortable communicating any concerns and I value their feedback and advise. I look forward to watching my son blossom in this caring, nurturing environment whist maximising his potential at the same time.

This doesn’t really have the feel of a nursery - it’s more like a very small school.
I just love the way the children wear a uniform and all look so very smart.
The small number of children and high number of staff make it feel like a big family and all the children know each other and the teachers
really well. Every weekend there is a birthday party and everyone is invited. The head knows every child by name.
The level of learning is high and the children have a wonderful mix of subjects and playtime.
There are school plays and nativity plays and the older children in school have time to mix and buddy up with the smaller ones to read.
Having visited many other nurseries when searching for ‘the one’ I just knew this worked for us and I’d highly recommend it to anyone.

Brabyns has given my daughter the best possible start to her schooling life. The teachers are wonderful and she has improved in all areas from starting there. They have the care factor which you don’t get in all nurseries. Would recommend highly.

I am very impressed by Brabyns. The care, kindness and friendliness of the staff towards the children is exemplary and they always have time and patience. The range of play and activities, especially the music and outdoor opportunities the children have has given my grandson so much confidence and enjoyment
- his development in every way has been delightful and he is obviously very happy here and talks constantly about the staff. Altogether an outstanding environment.

I can't speak highly enough of Brabyns. It was a huge decision to send my 2-year-old daughter to nursery and I was anxious about it and I looked at many options. But the first time I went to Brabyns mother and tots group and I met the head teacher, I just knew this was where I wanted to send her. I
haven't been disappointed. It is a lovely school in a lovely place with lovely people and I know my daughter gets the best of everything here. She has come on so much since being at the nursery and I feel absolutely secure in the knowledge I have made the best decision for my daughter. The staff are fantastic - helpful and communicative and very down to earth. They are brilliant with my daughter. This is the only place I wanted and want to send my daughter.

The school and staff offer an excellent environment. The staff are caring towards the children and assess children's educational standards from a young age. This helps to ensure children's needs are met.

The school offers a wide range of activities and fosters a family type environment which our

child has flourished in (she wants to go to school every day!).

The school structure and standard of teaching is very high. The after school and holiday activity club arrangements are less structured but the staff work hard to provide an enjoyable time.

Little Gems and Kindergarten staff are excellent. As my daughter is nearly 4, she hasn't made her way into the main school yet, so hard to comment.

Overall, very pleased and many thanks to the hard work of the staff who seem to have a genuine interest in caring for, and helping children develop!

Brabyns is a fantastic school with a great environment. It really is like a family and the teachers and headmaster know all the children names. It is very grounded and the children understand good manners and behaviour. It is very apparent with the way my 3-year-old son has improved since he started
in April last year.

They have interesting trips and activities which allows variety.

My son has also improved massively with his speech and this is due to the way the school are so attentive and talk to the children.

We spent a long time debating whether to change nursery for my then 2-year-old as her previous setting was really good. It was the best thing we ever did.

The teachers are passionate, the environment is structured but fun and enriching. There is a really amazing culture across the whole school which

brings the “Brabyns Family” together. The little ones have lots of opportunities to mix with the older pupils - which is really lovely to see.
Brabyns is much more structured and educationally focused than the average nursery but puts lots of emphasis on having fun in a warm and loving environment.

Our son absolutely adores going to nursery. He is pushed enough to keep him engaged and interested but his teachers understand when he has had enough or is tired. We can tell how much he is developing but most importantly, he is really, really happy there.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.068)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.068) out of 10 for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 5 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.1 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is calculated as follows: ( (60 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 60 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.068 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brabyns Nursery and Preparatory School is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 44 number of registered child places is 8.8. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 8.8 = 0.568
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
