My daughter has really loved being in the reception class. The staff keep up well informed and she has come on leaps and bounds socially. She is always playing nursery at home and from how she plays you can tell how happy and lived she feels.

My child loves her nursery days, she looks forward to seeing both staff and her little friends. Never have any issues. She is coming on leaps and bounds. I have every faith the Abbey Nursery will prepare her well for school in September.

I have two boys at the nursery. One in babies and one in toddlers. The girls at nursery have made them both so happy and they've settled straight away. Transitions were well thought out and helped the whole process. I get photos and regular updates throughout the day, particularly on days when the boys
haven't been quite well on drop-off, the staff check-in and update me across the day. The nursery itself is clean, the toys are well looked after and the spaces are well thought out. My boys love going and miss it when they aren't in. I haven't had any reason for complaint so far, and long may that continue. The staff are fantastic and I would highly recommend the nursery to everyone.

Fantastic team, who cares and caters for each childs individual needs exceptionally well. Our baby boy is always happy going to nursery here, smiling when he arrives and realises where he is. The updates we receive throughout the day really help to put your mind at ease.

Fabulous nursery. My little girl has flourished since she started in the baby room. She now is able to tell me what she gets up to each day. Meals are very nutritious and my little girl eats everything at nursery. Fabulous outdoor space. Staff are very approachable and give brilliant feedback at the

Our daughter has been with the nursery since she was 6 months old, now she's 2 1/2 and has developed amazingly with the help and support of the Abbey and all their staff. We get regular updates on her progress in different key development stages, which is always lovely to see.
Every staff member at
The Abbey is lovely and goes above and beyond, always finding new ways to entertain and engage the children.
The food always sounds amazing (and smells amazing on the occasions I collect at dinner time) and always a pleasure to know my little one always loves it. And even on the days she has been a bit more fussy she has been offered an alternative.
I always feel at ease dropping my little one off each day, knowing she is in a safe and caring environment.

My daughter started in January in the baby room and absolutely loves going! The girls were amazing during settling-in sessions, making a very worried first-time mum feel at ease! They continue to provide excellent care and I honestly couldn’t ask for more from them. Each day they update me with activities

I can’t credit The Abbey enough for everything they have done for my children. The staff are so friendly, welcoming and committed to the well-being of all the children they care for. My children love their key staff and are so happy coming in. Following being at a different nursery and moving to the
area my children have thrived in their various classes and I know that they are happy and well cared for. The staff go above and beyond, management are approachable and happy to help any way they can and I have felt understood and supported. It’s so important to find childcare you can trust and the staff at The Abbey are all superstars.

My son started the nursery in September, he took a little while to settle into the nursery and routine as only did one day a week so took some getting used to, but the staff were amazing and really patient with him during the settle-in and first few weeks/ month. The care they give him is brilliant
and you can tell they do care about each and every child they have in their care. They take photos which get uploaded to an app so we can see what they have been doing and lovely to see how happy they are when in nursery.

My boys have been attending The Abbey since I went back to work when they were 12 months old. They are now in the early learners room and the leaps and bounds they have come on over the past 2 years is incredible. Staff have been supportive and like a home away from home at every stage, especially as
they were slightly delayed with their movement and speech. They always had plenty of support and positive reinforcement and are now not chatting or running around! The staff are always happy to support me and truly care about the boys which shows how happy they are every evening when I collect them. Thanks to everyone for making the working parent juggle as easy as it can be!

Lovely staff, everyone has helped my son to settle in and enjoy his days in the nursery. I was nervous about putting my son into nursery at 1 year old but the staff just put me at ease immediately. They genuinely care for children like their own. Regular updates and photos during the day are a great
way of still feeling connected. Variety of food, activities and special event days.

My two daughters attend Thr Abbey in different rooms and both love going (which is a huge change to their previous nursery when drop off was heartbreaking). All the staff are caring and kind and genuinely do their very best - supporting our girls in their learning. I'd highly recommend it!

My son is in the early learners room and he loves it. He’s only been there since September but has settled in really well. The team are friendly, keep me updated and provide feedback/observations on a regular basis. Two members of staff in particular are fabulous, I can’t rate them highly enough.
The
outside space is small but good and there are plenty of different activities for the children to do.
The nursery has lots going on and events for the children to participate in, for example a charity day, zebra day, Father Christmas visits.
The menu is varied and I’m always amazed my son has eaten the fruit when he won’t eat it at home!
I would recommend this nursery.

They are all so lovely the staff are, they all really care about the babies that go to the nursery. Always give a good handover of what’s gone on and capture the special moments to share with us! Nothing is ever too much.
It’s so nice to be able to go to work and know my son is in a place he feels

My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was 9 months old. She loves it, she has come on so much since attending there. The staff are all so friendly, always keep you informed of what the children have been doing on that day, they have a great variety of food and snacks available, it is
always clean and tidy.

If you are reading this then you are probably looking for a nursery. My advice would be to go and see The Abbey Nursery School. Have a look around and I mean look. Their walls are full of information for parents as well as being child-based displays. Their management team are great, I say this because
I get the feeling that the staff all communicate well together, creating a good, positive buzz which is fantastic for the kids. My kid asks to go on the weekend he loves it that much. Their food is very varied and I'm amazed by how much my kid tries there. So many tastes and textures. I have found that the communication with the app is brilliant. I get updates on what's happening when, such as walk to nursery week, which day show and tell is happening along with PE days and Yoga days etc. My fridge is full of artwork and activities done at The Abbey. My kid was at another nursery originally and I didn't realise how lacking in effort and care it was until I moved them to The Abbey. Go see it.

My son attends this nursery and has been going for 6 months, he has come on leaps and bounds with his learning and development and that is down to the staff that look after him and the facilities that the nursery has to offer. My son is really happy when I drop him off and pick him up and if he is unsettled,
the staff members will send pictures, once he is settled, via the app so I know that he is okay, which puts my mind at rest. I get monthly observations and updates too. If he is unwell or has had a bump, the nursery will call me to let me know, communication is brilliant. The manager is really supportive of my son's individual needs and is really easy to chat to. I cannot recommend this nursery enough.

Since starting the nursery in January my little girl has flourished and is coming on so much. This is due to the amazing activities that they have set out daily and the love that the practitioners show the children. They treat them as if they are their own children.

Bethan Kennish

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2008

have been part of the Evolution Childcare team for nearly 22 years, bringing a wealth of experience, stability, and continuity to The Abbey. Over the course of my career, I have completed extensive internal training and developed a strong knowledge of early years practice, policies, and day-to-day operations.


I hold a Level 3 Early Years Educator qualification, as well as a Level 3 Team Leader and Management qualification. Alongside these, I have gained a wide range of certificates, including safeguarding, first aid, food hygiene, food allergy awareness, behaviour, and Prevent. These have supported both my professional development and my commitment to maintaining the highest standards of care and safety.


For the past eight years, I have had the privilege of serving as Nursery Manager. In this role, I provide supportive leadership to the team, foster positive and trusting relationships with families, and ensure that our environment remains safe, nurturing, and of consistently high quality. I take great pride in the work we do and in the positive impact we have on the children and families within our community.
