The Ivies staff are knowledgeable and caring. Care and development for our daughter has been specific to her needs, which was important to us. The range of activities on offer is extensive and the resources the nursery has access to helps develop the children significantly.
Both my daughters have attended St Ivies Nursery and have been /are very happy. It is a very caring and loving environment and all the nursery staff are very calm and patient with the children. The younger children are separated from the older children (ducks and ducklings) at certain times of the day which enables more focus on age appropriate tasks. The staff are excellent at preparing the children for school in the last couple of terms - children attend assembly. There is good outside space with plenty of toys and role play areas to encourage imaginative play. A wonderful nursery.
A great nursery which has gone from strength to strength over the last few years. I have had two daughters attend for their preschool years and would highly recommend it. It's a fun, caring nursery where both my children were extremely happy. The level of activity is pitched just right for the age groups and it's a great preparation for the start of school. The facilities and position is excellent. The staff are wonderful, caring and enthusiastic. A wonderful nursery!
Most important is how much my daughter loves it there - so much so she often doesn't want to come home! It was the same for my son who went to this nursery a few years ago, who had been to various other nurseries before this one - he settled in so quickly at this nursery and thoroughly enjoyed his time there.
Some of the extras are really good too - and not offered at other nurseries we had been to. For example - forest school, swimming lessons and ballet.
The overall package that this nursery delivers is great.
St Ives has provided my daughter with the happiest start to her education and I don't think she will ever forget the fun filled days she has had.
Two of my daughters have gone to this nursery (one of them is there currently). I couldn't be happier with it - the staff are all great, the atmosphere is lovely and relaxed and the children are all very happy.
I would highly recommend St Ives Nursery to anyone looking for a happy, caring, nurturing environment in the Haslemere area. My daughter enjoyed a fantastic two years in the nursery and the amazing staff helped her to grow in confidence, social skills, life skills and academically during her time there. The children love St Ives Nursery, they make strong friendships and enjoy a huge range of activities such as cooking, singing, music, swimming and PE. As the nursery is linked to the school, they can enjoy the facilities that the school has to offer. When my daughter left having just turned four, she was fully ready to start school, she was confident, could read simple books and swim a short distance. Thank you St Ives!!
Our daughter moved into St Ives school which was a seamless and natural transition from the nursery. The added bonus is that she still gets to spend time with the wonderful nursery staff through the Pre Prep After School Care arrangements.
This really is a hidden gem of a nursery that I can't recommend highly enough.
St Ive's Nursery is a wonderful Nursery. My eldest daughter also went to the nursery and I feel it has the highest standards of care. Nurturing of child led development is fantastic. Both my girls happily took off to nursery without a second glance. Wonderful I love it!
Both of my children have attended The Ivies Nursery and thoroughly enjoyed their time there. It has a wonderful outdoor space, lots of afternoon activities. Staff were always friendly, kind and supportive. I felt confident as a parent leaving my children in their care. Wonderful lunches!
I had to move my son from another nursery because I was extremely unhappy with the level of care he was getting and he was not liking it. From the moment he started at The Ivies he has been really happy. The staff are excellent with years of experience. He always comes home clean and well fed!
My son attends St Ives, and I couldn't speak more highly of it. My son skips in telling me how much he loves nursery and when I pick him up he asks me "when can I come to nursery again, Mum?" He is so happy there. There is a warmth at the nursery that I didn't experience at others and there are Happy children running around being creative and expressing themselves, its lovely. The warmth extends to outside the nursery too, if you see anyone around the grounds, you are always greeted with a big hello and and a kind smile- there a real sense of community. The staff at the nursery are so attentive and caring, and put so much thought into what the children do. My son is always coming home with wonderful treasures that he has made. my son, like all boys needs to get outside and be physical and the outdoor space at St Ives is an adventure park with lots of space to run and wonderful views, for him to run around in. I highly recommend this wonderful nursery!
We are 100% happy with our choice of The Ivies. Our daughter loves going to nursery and is full of excitement on nursery days. She loves the afternoon activities. Ballet and Crafty Chefs are firm favourites. She loves the fact that there is lots of outside play, as well as Forest school. This week she started telling me about how they say Hallo in French. She is so interested in keen in everything and the Ivies have such a wide range of things to do, and learn there is no chance of boredom! The garden area is well equipped and the children get good use of their wellies and waterproofs at the Ivies come rain or shine, which I think is a massive bonus! Our main reasons for choosing the Ivies were to do with the lovely calm feeling inside. Even on a busy day, there always seems to be a calm atmosphere, with happy busy children who are getting on with all sorts of activities, enjoying themselves in this warm, caring and calm environment. The level of one to one relationships is great too, and the staff are always available to talk in person or by email (which as a working mum is really useful). We’ve seen how much our daughter’s confidence has grown in just a couple of terms and feel that The Ivies has played a large role in this. The Ivies is a top choice!
My daughters attend this nursery with pleasure. They love all the teachers and feel happy and confident there. The extra activities abound and they love to take part in cooking, French, music, ballet. They don't enjoy swimming but then that's their preference.
This is a wonderful, homely, nurturing nursery run by kind and hard working staff. Children are very well known to all and given individual attention. The grounds are stunning. Outstanding activities and facilities include ballet, swimming (off site), forest school, music and French every week. My son absolutely loved his time here and my daughter is thoroughly enjoying herself at the nursery now. You can't go wrong if you choose The Ivies.
We couldn't be happier with our choice of nursery for our son. There are many positives; the daily afternoon activities (forest school, cooking, ballet, etc) was one of the main deciding factors when we chose The Ivies, but it's really the staff who have exceeded expectations. You really get a sense they genuinely care about each child, know what they are interested in, and notice when they need support.
If ever I stay a little longer at drop-off, I'm amazed at how well these small children play together, sharing and showing awareness for others. I think it's mainly down to the attitude of the staff, who seem to explain and reason with the children rather than raise voices. I really like that the 2-4 year olds are not segregated into separate rooms by age, because I think the younger ones learn a lot from the older ones, and the older ones learn to be patient with the younger ones.
The biggest measure of how good it is here is the size of the smile on my son's face when I pick him up - he's buzzing with excitement and full of stories of what he's done at nursery that day, proud to show me his artwork. He even asks to go nursery at weekends! I'm pleased his waterproofs regularly come home covered in a healthy dose of mud; I would much rather he be poking a stick in a muddy puddle than poking at the screen of an iPad!
Another thing I'm pleased to see every day is the different array of activities set up on the tables; be it a sensory bin of a tactile substance and figurines or a fresh batch of play-doh, there's always something interesting to get stuck into.
The only thing I'd add is, as a working mother, holiday cover!
The Ivies Nursery is such a special place, my daughter blossomed under the incredible care of the staff in the Ivies. The Nursery staff in the Ivies are truly the most patient, kind and a wonderful team and every single member of staff genuinely cares and nurtures your child. The Nursery is in a lovely setting and it is the only Nursery in the area that seemed like a home from home - soft toys, cosy corners, books and the most amazing toy cupboard that you have ever seen. The Nursery benefits from having the facilities of the main school, including Forest school, with teachers popping in for French, music, PE and all sorts of fantastic lessons and experiences. It also has a superb curriculum with covering a vast range of topics as well as an introduction to phonics, maths and writing. During the afternoon sessions there are wonderful activities and my daughter adored her ballet, cooking lessons and sport sessions.
I cannot praise The Ivies more highly - it is Haslemere's best kept secret! It has prepared my daughter for reception brilliantly and it was also such a simple and easy move into Reception at St Ives as everything is so familiar. The Ivies and St Ives just creates a magical environment that results in happy and contented children, who just love to learn and want to learn - not sure that you can ask for more than that?!
