We've now had two children attend The Ivies and it is still the magical place it was when our daughter left there for reception 7 years ago! Our son is currently attending and he always enters and leaves very happy. I have complete trust and faith in the staff - led by Ms Vaus who is excellent - and
who offer exemplary care and learning with the best facilities of any nursery in the local area with a huge play garden and outside green spaces and covered spaces, and excellent internal spaces alongside a wider forest school / school site. When our son started, he settled in quickly and has since been kept interested and engaged with a wide variety of stimulating daily activities. They also have very experienced subject specific teachers in French, Music etc. Very happy we found St Ives & The Ivies - it's a very special place!

My son absolutely loves attending nursery at st Ives and he seems to love all the teachers. Since day one he has been happy at drop off and full of beans when I collect him at the end of the days. He is so excited about tennis and ballet and comes home speaking French. He even gets really excited about
staying at after school care once a week. The staff have always made me feel that my son is very loved and that they know him well. I will always be grateful that he had this experience and spent nearly three wonderful years at The Ivies nursery.

My daughter loves The Ivies. The staff are kind, caring and always go above and beyond. My daughter loves weekly forest school sessions, PE and she's often singing songs from her French lesson. She has just started tennis lessons too which she is really enjoying. I would highly recommend this nursery.

My son has settled in incredibly well and is genuinely happy to be surrounded by such caring and supportive staff. The outdoor space truly makes a difference to his daily experience, giving him room to explore and play freely. The extra activities he participates in add even more excitement to his learning
journey, helping him grow in confidence, curiosity, and independence.
Overall, we couldn't be more pleased with the nurturing environment and the positive impact it has had on our son's development. It is reassuring to see him thriving, happy, and eager to learn each day.

We are very pleased with the nursery. It only took 2 weeks for my 2 year old to settle and he's now wanting to leave the house early just to get there. The nursery team is very welcoming and did their best for him to settle him.
He loves all the various activities and we really enjoy getting regular
updates. The team is very accommodating. We look forward to hear about what he's done every day, and the new words he learns daily.

We absolutely love the nursery. The staff are kind and caring, and know our daughter really well. The range of activities is amazing - she is now in her second year, and does forest school, french, ballet, PE and swimming every week. The preparation for reception is also fantastic - she is learning
phonics and shapes, and is so excited about sharing what she's learnt with us. We really couldn't ask for more.

My daughter loves going to nursery at St Ives - the staff are always welcoming and caring and she comes home full of stories and excitement to share with me. She has developed so much since starting there when she was two. The extra activities she takes part in (Swimming, French, Ballet) are excellent
and really help this nursery stand out - it's not just another 'day at nursery' for her, like so many other nurseries around, but an opportunity for her to learn new skills and she gets very excited asking me 'which day is it' (meaning which activity will she be doing). She also loves doing Forest School as they have amazing access to their private woods in the school grounds. Overall, we are delighted we chose St Ives to begin her educational journey.

Such a wonderful nurturing nursery. My very shy daughter has really come out of her shell and is thriving thanks to the all the amazing staff!
They give each child a personal approach and make them all feel special.
So grateful to have found the Ivies and can't wait to watch my daughter grow and

My daughter joined the Ives in September as a 'Duck'. We have found everything about the nursery to be wonderful:
The staff are so friendly, nurturing and accommodating. Pastoral care has been excellent. My daughter settled very quickly and with ease and we put that down to the pre-start home visits
and the staff's personal approach to each child.
The facilities are excellent. There is a lovely outdoor area which the children actively use daily and my daughter has had the opportunity to partake weekly in Ballet, Tennis, French, Art, PE, Music and Forest School.
The early bird and after school club options allow full coverage of childcare across the working day and these sessions are with the whole school - my daughter loves the opportunity to interact with the older children.
We have noticed our daughter's independence, confidence and communication skills flourishing since starting at the Ives.
I cannot recommend the nursery enough, my only regret is not starting her earlier!

Our daughter settled into The Ivies within a few days, she loves it so much. It's a great nursery for nurturing and building confidence and independence. There's a lot of space for running around, both inside and outside, and a lot of lovely activities and I love hearing about what they've been up to
and seeing updates on the app. Everyone is so friendly, caring and attentive. The after school care has been great for the odd occasion when we've needed it and they have been very flexible. Every day when we pick up our daughter, she's full of smiles and laughter

My daughter has really enjoyed being part of the Ivies and St Ives school. She had only just turned two when she started as is August born, so I was initially worried about her being the youngest there, however she settled in really quickly and the home visit we had before she started really helped
her become familiar with the teachers.
She always comes home smiling and has made some lovely little friends there. She especially enjoys Forest school, tennis and ballet which is on offer. The all inclusive setting means she gets to mingle with younger and older children which is also a lovely dynamic in the nursery.
She'll be starting reception at the school in September and being part of the nursery is making the transition so much smoother than anticipated with move up mornings coming soon and more allocated time for phonics and maths now that she's a moved from being a "duckling" to a "duck".

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.954)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.954) out of 10 for St Ives School Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.954 for St Ives School Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (230 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 239 Ratings = 4.954
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Ives School Nursery is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 number of registered child places is 7.2, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
