My daughter has settled into the nursery really well and I love the setting and all the staff. The new manager has been a great new addition and her management style is excellent. She is so approachable and genuinely cares for all the children and staff and wants them to have a great experience. My
daughter has been potty trained at nursery within the last few weeks with no fuss whatsoever. I’m really looking forward to another year at the nursery and to see how much more my daughter learns and improves over the year. Keep doing what you’re doing!

This is a wonderfully warm setting, where children are nurtured to encourage their curiosity and start their love of learning. I couldn’t rate the staff more highly. They have taken such great care of our little boy.

Our son loves his days spent at The Ivies Nursery and runs into school each day with a smile on his face. His initial settling-in experience was handled sensitively, with the kind and caring staff ensuring that he was happy and confident in his new surroundings. The nursery staff are wonderful and work
very hard to create a nurturing environment for the children, with lots of fun and engaging activities and experiences. He also enjoys all the extra lessons led by the specialist teachers from the main school, such as French, Music and PE. It is a real benefit to this Nursery that the children can experience these activities. The Ivies Nursery is set in beautiful grounds and the children spend a lot of time enjoying the outdoors which we love and was an important factor in our decision making. We highly recommend The Ivies Nursery and are very happy with our choice of where to send our son.

Our daughter recently joined The Ivies and settled in immediately. She’s always excited to begin her days at nursery, where the facilities are outstanding, and there’s a weighting towards outdoor, adventurous learning. The staff are welcoming, and the breadth of topics they learn and cover is second
to none. Being sent updates of what the children will be learning the following week is very beneficial as this allows us to take the highlights home.

Having tried a couple of nurseries previously with our daughter, so far, we couldn’t rate The Ivies any higher.

Amazing staff with so much heart and a caring mindset. They really do go the extra mile for each child, recognising their specific individual needs and how their development and their view on life is introduced to them through play, nature and friendship.

The settling in process was thorough and played a huge part in making moving nursery a smooth transition. The staff are warm, friendly, supportive and professional, and have created a welcoming,

The Ivies, Haslemere has been a fantastic environment for my son. They are given independence in a safe environment and lots of play outdoors as well as free and structured play indoors - a really great balance. Great preparation for school with phonics etc.
The staff are wonderful, my son loves them
like extended family, they are professional and very warm and friendly and I trust them implicitly to do the best for my son.

The Ivies is a very special place. It is a nurturing and caring setting where each child is treated like an individual. My son has been exceptionally happy at The Ivies and that is all down to the wonderful teachers, staff, other children and parents. In addition to the caring environment, the children
are helped to develop at their own pace but in a fun and progressive way. My son has excelled there.

Everything a nursery should be. Highly recommended. We had a very difficult experience with our elder child in a daycare type nursery. What a revelation St Ives has been. The same caring, dedicated staff each day. Staff who know your child, their strengths, interests and personalities so well. Activities
planned around your child to help them grow and develop. Such a happy place to be a child.

The staff at The Ivies have been exceptional in settling our daughter into nursery life. We did look at a couple of other nurseries but they did not compare with the caring, homely and friendly atmosphere of The Ivies. The children have access to lots of indoor and outdoor space. They have lots of lovely
toys to play with and there are different, stimulating activities every day. The settling-in process is extremely good and really helped our daughter who did not want to leave mummy at the beginning. Now we drop her off and she is happy and smiling and loves her time at nursery. She comes out every day singing and laughing and has made lots of lovely friends. She has grown in confidence and learnt so much since attending. Her vocabulary grows every week. We have recommended The Ivies to a number of friends. We could not be more happy with our choice and enjoy dropping her off, knowing she's in safe hands and going to have a great time!

Both my daughters have attended The Ivies nursery and we feel like it's an extension of our family. They both have thrived in nursery, learning so many new skills through fun and play and enjoying all the wonderful activities offered such as forest school, ballet and swimming. The staff are amazing,
attending to the children with warmth and care. You are always updated on what your child is doing at nursery either face to face or via their online system, where you can see wonderful pictures of their days at nursery. I highly recommend this nursery!

As a "mumpreneur" I really appreciate the flexibility they offer on the occasional day I need to drop her off early or pick her up late. Furthermore, my daughter loves her school and all her new friends which is what any parent would really want. A large reason I chose St Ives out of all the schools
I visited, was that they emphasised child well-being and happiness the most. This is incredibly important and it was something many of the other schools were not addressing. The school is also very happy to cater for my daughter's specific dietary needs with pleasure.

My daughter attends The Ivies three days a week and loves every second of her day. She has firm friendships, feels included and has grown and developed her skills in both interactions, role play games, sharing, understanding the needs of others and even holding a pen and starting to form letters. She
enjoys forest school on a Monday, Ballet on a Tuesday and cookery on a Friday. She has a strong bond with her key workers and during the holidays misses the nursery and her friends terribly. My youngest, 8-month-old, will be going to The Ivies when she's old enough.

My son has attended Ivies for just over a year and during this time, I feel he has received a level of care and attention I have not experienced in the four other nurseries my other two children have been to in the past.

The staff go beyond in terms of attention, genuine affection for the children,

continuity, enthusiasm and professionalism. This care has benefitted my son greatly and shows in his confidence and nature. He smiles and runs happily into nursery and smiles and waves his way out.

Both of our girls have been at The Ivies, Haslemere for 4 years in total. They absolutely love it. The little one does not want to leave the nursery at picking up time! The teachers are very experienced and kind. They do lots of activities. They have a structured approach, a thing which suits our kids.
Our kids developed a warm and loving relationship with other kids and staff. They are good at spotting if any areas need further development and know how to do it.

Surely the best area around we think!

Current Review Score: 10.0 (9.954)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 10 (9.954) out of 10 for St Ives School Nursery is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.954 for St Ives School Nursery is calculated as follows: ( (230 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 239 Ratings = 4.954
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for St Ives School Nursery is based on 20 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 36 number of registered child places is 7.2, which has been reached with 20 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
