Kindred Nursery in Bournemouth is a warm and inviting environment where staff are passionate about the mission to create inspiring worlds full of wonder for little ones to grow and thrive in.

By creating days filled with unique moments and opportunities, the nursery are able to truly enrich a child’s development during the 0-5 years.

Kindred Bournemouth (formerly known as Little Hens) is located in a lovely converted church setting with a large outdoor area. The nursery offers exceptional childcare and early years education to children aged from 3 months up to 5 years.

Open from 7:30 am to 6:00 pm and offer funded places for three year olds and qualifying two year olds. Speak to the team to find out more.

I am very happy with my child being at Kindred. They only started in January but have really come along in that short space of time. My child comes out happy when I pick her up so that’s the main thing for me.

The staff give excellent feedback regarding our child’s day and the number of observations shared has increased significantly which is so important to my wife and I. On arrival, the number of activities that are prepared for the day is clearly apparent as well which is always positive to see. The staff
are always approachable and appear to have a really positive relationship with our child who, through her actions, clearly trusts. It’s an absolute joy to hear our child at the end of the day state “I’ve had so much fun at nursery today”.

My son loves attending nursery and even when he’s been upset about separation from me, the staff have always been kind, sensitive and inform me of how he’s been through the day. The outside space is lovely and I get some really lovely images of him and information of what he’s been up to.

Much more improvement than before, can see my son is starting to learn and improve in himself, improved staff and overall as well. Always happy to come and go to nursey with a big smile on his face which is good.

Kindred Bournemouth Day Nursery and Pre-School has been absolutely amazing with my daughter. She has come such a long way after attending Kindred. The staff have been brilliant. I cannot speak more highly of them. My daughter loves going to Kindred and even got upset when they were on break!

My child is happy to go in and happy when comes out. Staff are lovely, patient and caring.
I like that the nursery provides the food and nappies. I also love the new outside area.
The only negativity is the draining problem in the parking lot. After heavy rain, it is like a proper pool.

We love Kindred Bournemouth Day Nursery and Pre-School and so does my little boy. Finding my little boy is really enjoying himself and loving all the staff in curiosity crescent. Encouraging him to grow in all areas. The nursery has been great in keeping me updated when my little boy has been struggling

We feel the nursery has really improved in the last six months which is amazing to see. Our little girl has always been happy to attend Kindred Bournemouth Day Nursery and Pre-School and has loved all the adults that have worked in each room. She is always speaking about her friends which shows how
settled she is there. The timings of the day are perfect for us and we wouldn't have chosen any other nursery.

Such a lovely environment, lovely size and very well apparated for all of the ages, the meals they supply are varied and on a weekly changeover which is amazing. My son is starting there and it is full of kind, caring staff that you can ensure are looking after your children the best they can.

The staff at the nursery have been amazing at settling my son into nursery, a place he hasn’t been before.
He loves going and talks fondly of the staff and the other children there.
The staff are always friendly at the beginning and the end of the day and keep me well informed of how my son is getting

Kindred Bournemouth Day Nursery and Pre-School has always been so welcoming to my little girl. They catch and understand her character. Always update how she is getting along and anything new that she learns. She’s been going for years and gets along so well with the staff and the other children. She
has formed great friendships there. She also tells me how yummy the food is and likes the chef. It’s nice to go to work and know she’s happy at nursery.

My little girl goes into nursery every morning and is greeted by smiles and warm welcomes.
Myself and my wife were nervous about her attending a nursery as we are first time parents. However, it was the best decision we made for her.
The staff are wonderful and caring people who will brighten up your
day. Whilst at work, we receive daily updates including naps, mealtimes and nappy changing during her day. If any concerns, we are updated throughout by phone calls or messages through the app.
We get a thoughtful note every evening to say what she has been interested in whilst enjoying her day. The observations are wonderful, including photos/videos of her playing in her nursery life.
Meal times are freshly home-made by the chef which she loves.
The management team are very supportive and approachable. When asking about enquiries or our booking pattern, their admin is helpful and quick to communicate with us.

My daughter is 2 and she attends Kindred in Bournemouth, she absolutely loves it and her development has grown since being at the nursery. They always adapt to every child’s need and always willing to answer any questions us parents have.
My 6-year-old went to this nursery previously before she went
to school and she blossomed in the nursery.
I agree they have had a lot of change of staff but they always made sure the children was the heart of the care at all times. Now the nursery have a new manager and staff settled in each room. My daughter loves her key worker who gives me updates of her day throughout the day via the app.

When my child first joined the nursery I felt everything seemed fine, but over time there was a noticeable change.
I have noticed a huge turnover of staff, some lovely staff left and since then I have definitely noticed a change in the way the nursery was run.
Children run about and get into accidents
which I am well aware of but my child had a couple of big accidents whilst there which made me quite unsettled. I don't believe the safeguarding is up to standard at all.
I don't want to put the nursery down entirely. There are some lovely people who work there, who I am sure try their best. However, I paid a lot of money for my child's needs to be met and when they are not met it does make you worry about their safety and wellbeing when at nursery.
My child appeared happy there which is why we stayed but I am feeling less anxious now they no longer attend Kindred which is also quite sad because as a parent you want to have lovely memories of nursery, not bad ones.

I have generously rated 3 stars as I find the nursery to be “satisfactory”. There are great benefits to this nursery over others such as being open from 7.30 am until 6 pm which suits my working needs. Others in the local area are only open from 8 am. I do have a few niggles. The app is never updated
accurately in terms of what has been eaten. I do rely on this when the nursery is busy at collection time to understand what my child needs when back at home. I very rarely get an update/pictures posted to the app with activities undertaken during the 52-and-a-half hours they are there per week. The turnover of staff is disappointing. The nursery recently lost a very big asset to their team who children and parents adored. Not because they were changing their career, but because they went to another nursery which is concerning. They have gone somewhere else to do the same job. My child seems very happy and has built very strong relationships with other children which is what stops me from considering a move.

All staff have been great with my two sons, currently going to Kindred Bournemouth.
They update us regularly, send pictures and have day out with parents.
We have an app to easily get in contact with all staff and update our child activity. Love it. Thank you!
