Rated Outstanding by Ofsted (June 2023), New Cross Nursery & Pre-School provides childcare and education to children from birth to 5 years old.

The Nursery is based in New Cross, close to the station. It's a bright, modern setting with separate rooms and gardens for different age groups.

The experienced staff believe the key to learning is variety. There are lots of activities to try… cooking, science experiments, yoga, woodwork, messy play, and more! The children also love to get out and about, enjoying trips to the park, market and local library. Families can join in the fun too, with breakfasts for mums and dads and tea parties for grandparents.

A dedicated chef prepares all meals using healthy recipes from LEYF’s menu.

Our daughter has been so happy at New Cross Nursery since starting seven months ago.
The staff are brilliantly motivated, engaging and friendly whilst also being very professional.
Our daughter has been nurtured and has become very sociable as a result of the attention and care she has received.

We know New Cross Community Nursery was the right nursery as soon as we arrived. The staff are happy, the children are thriving and there's so much more space (particularly outdoors) than so many other London nurseries.
Our daughter loves going to nursery and as parents, that's lovely to see and a
huge relief to know that we can get on with our working days.

My son absolutely loves going to nursery. He really enjoys all of the activities, toys and learning opportunities that we might be hard-pressed to give him in such quantity and diversity at home. I am impressed by the warm, friendly nature of the staff and how they give a great deal of attention to
all the children. They also make a lot of effort to work with you on your child's development and are even a great source of advice for new parents.


Separately, I would like to note that the resources/equipment/ict rating does not offer the option to choose "I don't know." If that option was available, that is what I would have selected.

New Cross Nursery is by far my daughter's favourite place and our experience over the time she's been here has been amazing.
Staff are so friendly and genuinely care about each child and I have full confidence leaving my child there every day.
I would definitely recommend New Cross to other parents
as I am totally confident they will have a pleasurable experience as we have.

The team have been brilliant with our daughter, who had a tricky start and struggled to adjust to being away from mum and dad at first. They were very supportive and really have genuinely enjoyed watching her progress as she started to get used to being there 3 days a week. She loves her food, so really
enjoys the fresh food they give her and loves the toys and activities they plan. She has grown in confidence so much over the past few months and we definitely think LEYF have played a huge part in that. The staff have been great, and the review after a few months really helped us get a great picture of her development and where we can help. She loves it there now and has lots of fun so we can relax knowing she is happy and being looked after.

New Cross Community Nursery is our child's second nursery and the improvement from the previous one is huge. The building is spacious, the grounds are vast (and could be even bigger in time). The staff are not as subject to change as at our previous nursery and this is good for our daughter because
she has at least 3 who she has known for over a year. She eats a great variety of food here.

This nursery my 2 children attend, is a nice environment. They enjoy attending here daily. The staff are friendly and welcoming and are always willing to help.
It would be better if they could offer a bit more food at snack time, other than only milk/water and fruit/veg.

My son started nursery since he turned 2 years old. It has taken him a while to settle in, a little more than usual but after couple of months, stressful, he started to like going to nursery, he started to be happy to go.
Now almost 3 years after, he wants to go there every day. He loves to go and
play with his friends at nursery. When he's happy, we are happy too. Thank you.

I have 2 children that attend the preschool team at New Cross Community Nursery. My children always come home and tell me about the fun things they have done during that day. Staff are really friendly, approachable and have really nice relationships with my children. I always get really good detailed

We are very happy about the care and thorough attention our son receives at New Cross Community Nursery. He learns new things every day and is happy to go back to nursery every day. Staff encourage a playful and exploratory way of learning and encourage working with natural textures such as soil. They
spend a lot of time outside in the beautiful garden too, which is a little luxury in a busy town like London.
