LEYF - New Cross Nursery & Pre-School

We have loved the nursery! My son really enjoyed it and grew very fond of his teachers. He learnt so much there and was very well looked after. The food is all cooked on site and healthy, they have amazing sustainable values and encourage learning through play every day. Great place and people!

Wonderful nursery, happy, engaged and professional staff who provide a variety of activities for my child. Lots of shaded outside play space for engagement with nature and to allow use in hot weather (very useful this summer!)

My child has been going to LEYF New Cross for a year and a half, and most days she is very excited to go into nursery , and most evenings (even Fridays) she says she'll come back tomorrow. I have seen great development in her social, physical and emotional skills, and I love the weekly photo updates on all the fun and learning they've been doing. Over the time we've been here, the nursery has expanded with two new rooms (second to open soon), and that has made the room progression feel slightly unpredictable. And the past few months has been a few changes off staff. Neither thing seems to have affected my child, and her key person has been amazing throughout! I recommend this nursery to anyone who asks.

What we particularly love is how much outdoor space the nursery has, and how much time the children spend outdoors. We also love that the staff in his room put a lot of effort into activities and choose activities they know the children in the room will enjoy.

I can't recommend LEYF New Cross enough. My son first started here in 2021 when he was 12 months old and stayed until he started school. We had such a positive experience that when it came to choosing a nursery for our daughter, there was never any question about where we wanted her to go. She started in April 2026.

The staff are exceptional - friendly, caring and genuinely invested in the children. Both of my children have absolutely loved going, which gives you such peace of mind as a parent. It's lovely seeing them excited to go in and knowing they are happy and well cared for.

Communication is also fantastic. They always keep me informed about how my daughter is getting on, what she's been doing and anything I need to know. The staff are approachable, reassuring and always happy to help.

Having had two children attend over several years, I feel I can give a really honest recommendation. We've been incredibly happy with the care, support and nurturing environment they've provided

Both our children are at Leyf New Cross and I can't recommend it enough. Fantastic outdoor space and the staff go above and beyond in every way. They have created a genuinely loving and happy environment for children, while encouraging learning and independence through play. They also strive to create a community feel by involving parents throughout the year, including a summer BBQ.

I'm proud to say that she attends LEYF as I know it's reputation and commitment to childcare. I just wished that there was less staff turnover which would give us bit more tranquility knowing that things will remain the way it is or will be even better. At least, the management has been relatively consistent since we've been there, which is reassuring as Katerina is a really good nursery manager.

We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery to any family.

I have an amazing experience with New Cross nursery ! All the staff are caring, kind, nurturing ! The activities are really well thought, with a great balance of child initiated and adult led. My son started in baby room and is going through to preschool now, all rooms are amazing ! The environment is spacious, with a great outside space for each rooms. The food is lovely and healthy. I recommend it 300 % !

Sent both our children to New Cross LEYF. From the spacious baby room to the pre school room, the kids loved every worker they interacted with. They've learned more skills than I would have expected and made so many friends. I really like the staff and their sensible approach.

My son was here for just over three years, from when he was ten months old to when he started school. He had a wonderful time and our experience was also very good. There was a period when there was no permanent leadership and things got a bit chaotic, but then the current team took over and the improvement was marked, culminating in the Ofsted Outstanding rating which was richly deserved. We will all miss the staff who did a great job.

My child has been at New Cross Nursery since he was one in the baby room and now he is in the toddler room. We couldn’t be happier with the nursery and feel like it is a very special place and feel incredible lucky to have found it. All of the staff have always been so communicative, both verbally and through the app. For me, it has the perfect balance of following our child’s interests and giving him the freedom to explore (in their amazing outdoor and indoor spaces), as well as provoking thought and development through experiments and interactions. Their gentle and developmentally appropriate approach to supporting with emotions and behaviour feels just right for us. He has so much fun there and we feel he is safe and well looked after and developing great relationships. Thank you New Cross Nursery!

Management seems very organised, helpful and friendly.

We moved our 18 month old daughter after some serious issues at another local nursery and she has settled at Leyf so brilliantly with the help of the incredible team in the baby room. Within a week our daughter was noticeably more confident and now, five months on, bounds into the room without looking back. She’s now moving to toddlers gradually and it's being managed really well. Her speaking and socialisation development have been incredible to see, but the most special thing for us is how happy and safe she is there. Every single member of the team is so welcoming and shows love to our little girl. They’re notably also so conscientious, professional and kind to us as parents. I feel as supported as our daughter is. Communication is fantastic and facilities are brilliant too. It’s made me so confident that she has the best care I’ve felt like I can go back to work five days a week. It’s genuinely been life-changing. Thank you, you’re all a brilliant team and exceptional humans, doing a very tough job.

New Cross Nursery is a great place where children flourish. The staff are dedicated and caring and the curriculum seamlessly blends learning and play. Excellent communication with parents and a truly special place for the little ones!
