Mama Bear's Day Nursery & Pre-School (Speedwell) is open from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm and aims to provide a safe, caring, happy environment for every child.

Mama Bear’s in Speedwell comprises a Pre-school for 2, 3- and 4-year olds in Whiteway Road plus a dedicated Baby Unit (for under 2’s) two doors down on the corner of Kingsmead Road.

Both settings offer a stimulating, safe and welcoming home from home environment with resources dedicated to their age group. Enjoying and achieving is the focus throughout the day.

They’re particularly proud of their amazing Pre-school garden in which children explore the outside environment and develop gross motor skills. Learning and physical development go hand in hand.

With a five-star food hygiene rating, the children's healthy lunches are prepared on site daily.

With a pre-school, toddler and baby room, children can enjoy exploring their surroundings and developing their skills.

The children can fuel their imagination with role-playing, explore the natural world in the nursery's garden and investigate the mud kitchen area.

There are balancing beams, and balance bikes, as well as a sandpit and access to different types of water play.

My son has been attending this nursery for over the past 2 years! He’s come on so much with his speech and language skills, his interpersonal skills also his imagination!
He leaves every session there with the biggest smile on his face!
The staff at the nursery are so kind and caring with my son.
They update me on all his needs and any worry’s they may have!
We couldn’t have picked a better nursery.

Pros:
My son loves it there. The ladies are really nice and professional


Cons:
Almost always short of staff and get called to pick your child up.


Overall:
It is a good and safe place for your child to be if you are not employed or self-employed, if you are employed think twice or have a backup

plan which is next to impossible with child care in the area, everyone is always booked. Not unless you have family members who can help you out.

Both my children enjoy and look forward to attending nursery. The outdoor space is lovely and indoors, they enjoy free access to everything. It seems to stimulate their imagination. Both my girls have developed strong bonds with all the staff. I feel like the staff go above and beyond for the children.

I have had children at this nursery since before it changed management. My children have always been well looked after and have thrived. The staff are hard-working and extremely caring.

I am quite happy with the nursery as I can see that my child is improving his skills and language every day. The staff members are very welcoming and my child likes them a lot. There were few moments when I was not satisfied for example when my son had a runny nose and when I arrived he was dirty and
nobody seemed to care that he could not breathe properly or when he played in the garden and he was all wet when I picked him up but it only happened in few occasions so I don't take it as a big deal. Overall I'm very satisfied!

My child has been at this nursery sine she was 10 months old. I viewed around 5 nurseries before sending her to Tiny Steps. Since attending each individual area of the nursery have given their focus and attention to my daughter's well being and growth. She started in babies, through toddlers and to
now in preschool. I feel as though they have helped me to raise my daughter, paying attention to her manners and behaviour. They have helped me personally with requests for tax credit details as well as extra childcare days. They have been understanding in regards to finances and have informed me regularly of information.
