I was very choosy and finicky when it came to choosing the right nursery for my little one. Of all the ones I had visited, Chestnut Nursery was undoubtedly the one that touched my heart. The cleanliness, space for kids to move around, the back garden to play, kids' separate pegs etc everything was just
RIGHT. Also, the idea of accessing your child’s progress through their app was just so convenient. I would highly recommend this nursery for all these reasons, most importantly the staff are super friendly and accommodating.

Well done Chestnut Halbutt Street!

I could not be happier sending my child to this nursery. The facilities are clean and welcoming. Every single staff member is approachable and friendly and work so hard giving the best to all the children there. I think they are all wonderful and words cannot express how much it means knowing my child
is being cared for by them and the reassurance they give. A 10/10 nursery I cannot fault in anyway.

Premium Nursery run by excellent staff.
My three-year-old son, he is a special needs child and he has attended Chestnut since June 2017. Since then he has made lots of progress.
My son is always excited to go back to this nursery and for my wife and I, this is a massive peace of mind.
The staff are
friendly, professional and always ready to help.

A very good nursery. Caring and understanding of your children. Easy to communicate with and will take on board any personal needs. My child needs some extra care for medical reasons and this nursery was very understanding and willing to take on whatever needs are necessary. Would recommend them to
everybody.

High standard nursery with great and professional staff and managing people. Offering to the children the best environment to develop and socialise, so the parents have no worries about the wellbeing of the kids during the nursery time. I have pleasure in recommending this nursery to any parent without
any hesitation and starting to feel sorry that my daughter will have to leave the nursery to go to school, however, I am confident that the time spent in the nursery will be helpful.

I am truly happy with the progress my daughter has made during her time at the nursery. Every day she has a story to tell me about her friends which I find intriguing. The staff are very helpful and supportive and I am glad that I have picked this nursery. I will be sad when my daughter leaves in August
to go to school in September but would definitely do it all over again.

Chestnut Nursery Halbutt is a truly fantastic setting with an amazing manager and wonderful staff. My first born son went to this nursery when it first opened when he was three. He is non-verbal and autistic. The nursery did so much for him in terms of helping him to adjust, teaching him new things
(communication skills, some independence, trying new foods to name a few) and especially allowing him to have such a close bond to his key worker. The nursery is always clean, provide good meals and has many resources for all children including a sensory room. The staff are always so friendly. I feel the nursery really helped him with the transition to starting school. The manageress always goes above and beyond her duty. Because of all this, I didn’t think twice about sending my other son here who started in September. He loves going to nursery and always talks about the staff and what they did for him and the activities he did. It’s always positive. I would highly recommend this nursery!

Brilliant nursery, my daughter settled in straight away and loves being there.
The nursery's doors are always locked and you have to buzz to get into the main doors, then go to another locked door and wait to be buzzed into the classrooms, which I think is amazing and a big relief for me, knowing
my daughter is safe and there's no way of getting out.
The classroom has lots of activities and the garden is very big with lots of activities to do outside.
The staff are very friendly and professional.
Another great extra is the ParentZone app which you can follow your child’s progress and see pictures of your child doing different things when you log into your own account. The staff are very good at keeping this up to date as well.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.933)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.933) out of 10 for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is calculated as follows: ( (18 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.266 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 number of registered child places is 14.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.2 = 0.141
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
