My son has been attending Chestnut for just over a year now and the staff at Halbutt Street are amazing. My son is autistic and has done nothing but flourish at Chestnut, he's making new sounds and doing things he has never done before like tidying up and helping Mum at home. The staff at Chestnut have
always supported me and my son and I can not thank them enough. 10/10 best nursery I could have sent my son to would/will always recommend Halbutt Street.

Our baby girl has been in this nursery for about 3 months now and I have to say I am overall pleased with the service they provide. Staff are kind and understanding and the facilities are good as far as I can tell.
The only complaint I have is the fact that they do not have their own kitchen and the
meals are catered and delivered. The meals are not the ones I would typically give my baby as I am very aware of sugars and processed carbohydrates. I much rather prefer to bring my own packed lunch but they do not allow this for babies that young.

Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street have always supported my child and us especially when it comes down to his eczema and trying to discover if he is allergic to something! The communication is brilliant and the support is outstanding. My son has developed so much since attending the nursery, I
will definitely be sending my next child here!

I must say I was afraid to put my child so young in nursery (5 months) not knowing what to expect. This nursery exceeded my expectations and now I can say that was the best decision I made for me and my baby. My baby is not afraid of people, she is social and it is very good for her development what
they do in nursery. I am able to see daily, on the app her routine, food, sleep, nappy changes plus see uploaded pictures by the team how my baby is spending time in there. The team is brilliant and can't ask for a better nursery for my child. Highly recommend to everyone.

I am very happy about this nursery because it has carried me and my daughter very well. I like the place, I like the staff and the food, everything. It's the best for me at this moment. I looked for places good for my daughter long ago but I found this place. For me it's magic. Thanks.

Both my kids have attended Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street and I could not have picked a better nursery. The staff are amazing, caring, attentive and very professional. My kids very much enjoyed and enjoy attending and have developed a strong bond with all staff. The facilities are safe, clean
and very well maintained over the years. My kids' overall development has been incredible and every day is a new day to explore, play, learn and build friendships with their peers.
I would very much recommend this nursery.

My child is very happy when she goes to the nursery which means she is having a great time at the nursery. She learned many words in English. The activities she does at the nursery are fun and she shows me how to do them at home.

My son and my niece have both been attending this nursery for the past 2 years.
The staff are lovely and my son has really bonded with them over time. Communication between staff and parents is also spot on. When he first started I was worried about his speech being delayed and him not having been
around many other children. He is now a different child and has come a very long way. He has always been happy and excited about attending and has learnt so much.

My son has been attending Chestnut Nursery @ Halbutt Street since June and he really enjoys his time there. Since attending, I have noticed that he is really learning - starting to recognise colours etc and it's only been a short time that he has been attending. My son goes to nursery 2 days a week
and he is always excited to go - so much so, he runs in and doesn't look back. The staff are all welcoming and friendly - they're a good team. Really lovely nursery.

When my daughter first joined this nursery, we were just told she could be on the spectrum. I was scared and confused but the staff took me as well as my daughter under their wings. The improvement in my daughter's development has been amazing. The staff at Chestnut have become our second family.

Staff at Chestnut Nursery Halbutt are always cheerful, friendly and willing to help! They support kids and form a bond with them that help to see children grow, develop and explore new things every day. My son loves going to nursery and is always talking about his friends and his favourite teachers.

The

premises are clean, tidy and have plenty of airy space. This makes the whole setting beautiful and a good place for kids to move and play freely.

Many thanks to the lovely team for their continued support to my son's development!

When searching for a nursery everyone told me when you find the one you will know and upon viewing Chesnut Nursery I knew it was the one.
My daughter was 10 months old when she started at Chestnut Nursery and her progression has been outstanding and this is mainly due to the staff at Chestnut and
their ability to personalise activities and play to suit each child. This being said they value parents' input and suggestions and are there to speak to should you need to.

My son is still settling in but I think this place is brilliant. I came here based on reviews I had read and have not been disappointed. The nursery is clean and tidy and full of things to do, with new activities every day. Staff are attentive, caring and friendly. Management is visible and approachable.
Staff are well trained and somehow manage to remember all the names of the many children and parents who come and go. Great premises with a huge outdoor play area and classrooms, food is lovely. So far I cannot find fault with anything, and my 2-year-old (who calls this place "fun" not nursery or school) is enjoying himself and learning new skills.

I would highly recommend this nursery, the staff are amazing and always very polite. My little one loves them, he can't wait to go in every morning. Much better than leaving them with a child minder as actually they learn alot, through play as well as interacting with other kids.

My 3-year-old son started attending Chestnut Nursery in May 2018 for 2 afternoons per week. We looked at several nurseries locally before deciding on Chestnut. He settled in very quickly, thanks to staff and management being very competent and welcoming. Any issues we've had have been quickly addressed
to our satisfaction and we feel content in the knowledge that our son is in a clean, spacious and fun environment. He looks forward to going to nursery which can only be positive. We would happily recommend Chestnut Nursery to other parents looking for somewhere safe to send their children.

The nursery are welcoming to new children and if you have any questions they are willing to answer them. When you send your child they make the children want to go in to have fun and when you collect them the staff give you updates and explain how your child has been throughout the day.

Current Review Score: 7.9 (7.933)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.9 (7.933) out of 10 for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.7 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.3 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.667 for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is calculated as follows: ( (18 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.667
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 3.266 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Chestnut Nursery School @ Halbutt Street is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 = 3.125
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 71 number of registered child places is 14.2. 2 Positive Reviews ÷ 14.2 = 0.141
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
