Funding & Fees
Monkey Puzzle Tatsfield likes to keep things as simple as possible. This helps provide predictability and stability for families by avoiding confusing multi-tier fee structures and hidden costs.
The fees include all meals, snacks, and drinks throughout the day, including milk formula. They also include nappies, wipes, and creams. There are no additional charges within the fees. It also includes various activities that take place at the nursery such as extra-curricular sessions, trips, and experience days. Its all-inclusive!
Monkey Puzzle Tatsfield’s full day and half day sessions are competitively priced. We believe that our standard of care makes us a stand out nursery in the local area. Children accessing a full 5 day nursery week benefit from a discounted rate and are charged on the basis of a 50 week year.
You will be pleased to hear that we are eligible to receive government funding so children can access 15 hours education and care per week starting the term after their second or third birthday. We will also be accepting the new 9 month old funding as from 1 September 2024.
Monkey Puzzle Tatsfield, also accept all major childcare vouchers, including Sodexho, Computershare & Accor, as well as the governments child care account and other workplace benefit schemes.

Very happy with the nursery. The meals are great, tasty (in my daughter's opinion), vary each week. Great and friendly staff. The teachers have great contact with my daughter, good atmosphere. I value the way any conflicts are handled (between children). Huge bonus for onsite kitchen, lovely playground and good facilities and play area indoors.
A fantastic friendly nursery with a great atmosphere, lots of different and stimulating activities for the children and great staff. My son throughly enjoyed his time there! It’s a very supportive environment and there is a great outdoor play area too!
Our son is very happy at nursery. They provide a wonderful range of learning experiences and the environment is calm, friendly and productive. Staff are professional and nurturing and take time to get to know the children and their families. The nursery is clean and well organised with great resources.
The staff are always friendly and welcoming. They show extra care to accommodate the needs of children however minor it might seem. The variety of activities is brilliant and the frequent use of the outdoor space. They really listen to any concerns about development/confidence and act upon them.
My son really enjoys his time at Monkey Puzzle day Nursery Tatsfield. He has developed really well throughout his time there. The staff and care he receives is excellent and there is always a range of activities and equipment available to aid his learning and understanding. I would not hesitate to recommend to other parents.
My daughter has been at Monkey Puzzle Day Nursery Tatsfield for two years now and we have always been exceptionally pleased with the nursery. The facilities including the outside space are fantastic. They are well looked after and the garden from mud, sand, slides and bikes it has it all. Inside activities are always well thought out and include lots of variety from day to day. I have always found all the staff to be excellent, they are very supportive and really keen to help in any way possible. Fresh food cooked daily is creative and according to my daughter "yummy". Overall I am very satisfied with Monkey Puzzle and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
The staff are amazing and they really support my daughter in all aspects and create a positive and fun environment which she is thriving in. I cannot praise them enough.
The staff are brilliant and my daughter loves going to nursery.
They fill in her daily diary which informs me of what's shes done each day and eaten.

Our daughter has been attending Monkey Puzzle for about 18 months now and we've been more than happy. We love the spacious room for her age group and the huge garden but the best thing is the staff who all seem committed, knowledgeable and friendly.
Although she only attends minimum hours there the staff nevertheless are excellent at picking up on the things she likes doing.
I was not surprised at all by the Outstanding Ofsted result - well deserved.

They have recently been awarded a much deserved Outstanding by Ofsted.
I initially went to 10+ nurseries to visit (neurotic first-time mum) before I found this one.
The staff are great, the activities fun, original and always different and my daughter LOVES her key worker.
The children spend lots of time outdoors also in the garden area, playing with sand, waterplay, the toys and slides etc.
We will really miss Monkey Puzzle and all of the teachers and management.
The nursery is big, bright and fun with plenty to do for all the ages. The outstanding OFSTED report which they received recently was thoroughly deserved.
Our little boy loves Monkey Puzzle Nursery, he is having a fantastic time there and he has made excellent learning progress since he started. My husband and I have been taking our three-year-old daughter to Monkey Puzzle in Tatsfield for two years and she loves it. The staff are very nurturing towards all the children. The setting is very picturesque with animals on the fields nearby which our daughter loves.

I was forced to move my daughter from her childminder in January 2016 when she was fifteen months old. Prior to this point, I had been adamant she should be cared for in a home (childminder) environment until school.
After visiting numerous local nurseries and childminders, we settled on Monkey Puzzle Tatsfield as our first choice, from the moment we walked in it seemed a no-brainer, in fact as we left I said to my husband “what do you think?” he replied, “I think you’ve made your mind up!”
From the very start, all the staff were welcoming and it felt happy and friendly. My daughter took to it immediately.
The number of children and the setting seemed to allow the children to have an element of freedom, but with confines of structure and the routine, they need.
Feedback at the end of each day is always based on what she has learned, worked on and developed in that day.
Our son is well cared for and taught at Monkey Puzzle. He loves all the different activities that are set up each day and particularly enjoys the outside space. He can talk well about the themes that are being covered and has great relationships with the staff.
My son started Monkey Puzzle just after he turned one and remained there for 1 1/2 years and I couldn't have been happier. They have an exceptionally nurturing environment. All of the staff are incredibly warm and my son bonded well with a number of them. He often returned home with pieces of artwork or chatting about what he played with. They have a lovely, very well maintained, outside play area which they use most days, and a kitchen on site with a chef where the food is prepared.
I appreciated how adaptive they were to drop-off/pick-up times. On occasions, they looked after him at short notice which I was exceptionally grateful for. Every parent is regularly updated on activities and progress, with additional photos/paintings. I even received a report to take for his 27 month NHS review.
I would have no hesitation recommending this nursery to anyone, especially for that home-from-home environment. Sadly my son is moving on, but we will always have fond memories.
Monkey Puzzle Tastsfield and staff have proven to be professional, nurturing, fun and well rounded in their educational approach.
I particularly like their focus on independence and self-help skills, learning through play both indoors and outdoors, as well as school readiness skills academically and socially.
My husband and I couldn't be happier with our choice of setting for our son!
We are very pleased with the outdoor environment and also with the fact that nappies, cream and milk are included in the price.

Sharene Menteath – Owner and Director
Sharene has spent her entire working career in the Education Industry. Sharene has focused primarily on Higher Education, but diversifying into Early Childhood Development in the last few years where she was part-owner and Director of a Day Nursery in South Africa.
Sharene gained invaluable experience in her time spent in various roles from Marketing, HR, Operations, Educational Development and New Business, in Management and Senior Management positions to Directorships. Sharene is passionate about her new nursery and firmly believes that education is an industry that is always changing, developing and evolving. It is because of this, her passion has never died. “Always learning” is something she keeps close to her heart.
Jane – Nursery Manager
I hold a Montessori Level 4 Diploma in Education, a Bachelor of Science and a Level 6 Early Years Professional Status. I have 18 years experience as a Montessori teacher, Deputy Nursery Manager and Nursery Manager. I changed career into early years 20 years ago after the birth of my daughter. From that moment child development has been a passion and has stayed with me ever since. I am also the Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Nursery.
