Conveniently located between Haywards Heath and Balcombe, with easy access from the A23, the nursery is set in the heart of mid-Sussex and housed in a beautiful and inviting setting.
The nursery has dedicated, inspiring rooms for Babies, Toddlers and Preschool. Although starting school may feel far away, the enriching and wellbeing-focused Bright Beginnings Curriculum, designed by Early Years specialists, ensures children are well-prepared. Rooted in the government’s EYFS framework, the curriculum combines diverse activities to support skill development and help children thrive, whether transitioning between rooms or getting ready for school.
The nursery’s woodland-themed design promotes learning inspired by nature. Its extensive garden includes a woodland walk that sparks imagination and exploration. A dedicated growing area allows children to plant, water, and care for fruit, vegetables, and herbs, helping them learn about healthy eating and nutrition.
Parents stay informed about their child’s activities and progress through the Family app, which provides regular updates and insights.

Rose Cottage is a truly superb nursery. The staff have made our daughter so comfortable and welcome and she can't wait to go back each week. The outdoor environment they have created with the animals and the woodland is such a unique benefit that not many other nurseries offer and our daughter has thrived with this. Would recommend this nursery to anyone looking for a nurturing and caring environment with the added benefit of an outdoor area that encourages relationships with animals and wildlife.

Lovely nursery in a fantastic setting with a really wonderful staff. My daughter loves going there and especially likes the outdoor space and the animals! This is the main reason we chose this nursery plus the relaxed environment/approach of the staff. The previous nursery we used was much more rigid and rule-driven - Rose Cottage has a more friendly and learning-through-nature feel which suits us.
Thank you for your kind review. We're so glad your daughter enjoys the outdoor space and animals at Rose Cottage. It's great to hear our nature-focused, relaxed approach suits your family. We truly appreciate your feedback!
Highly recommend Rose Cottage.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Bright Horizons Rose Cottage Haywards Heath Day Nursery and Preschool. The staff have been incredible for the past three years my son has attended and he has loved every minute. The grounds and outdoor facilities were naturally a big draw for us when we selected Rose Cottage and our son is a huge 'outdoors' kid as a result. On those rainy days though, he has still enjoyed his time. The baby room is quite small but given the needs and numbers probably appropriate for the age group.
We are delighted to receive your positive feedback and we're thrilled to hear your son is thriving at our nursery.
Honestly, the best nursery in the area, the staff are all wonderful and the location (with lots of outdoor play) is perfect. Our 1.5-year-old daughter has been going since she was 1 and every time she goes is so excited and has the best day every day. She has developed so much since going...
Before sending her here I thought nursery was crazily expensive, now I realise it's worth every single penny!

We feel incredibly lucky that our daughter attends Rose Cottage. She runs out the door on nursery mornings, excited to see her friends and the wonderful staff. The nursery itself has a lovely setting with a beautiful outdoor area and animals for the children to interact with. The nursery team are friendly, supportive and communicative. You can see that they work so hard and take joy in looking after each of the children. Now that our daughter is in her final few months before school, she has begun learning phonics, writing and more advanced counting. She is so excited to share what she has learnt showing what a fantastic job the staff do in mixing learning with their day-to-day play. Thanks, Rose Cottage!
Thank you for your five-star feedback and for sharing your experience with us.
Rose Cottage has been a consistently great nursery over the last three years. Thank you for all you’ve done to help my little girl grow and be ready for her next chapter in life, school. The staff are amazing, and we will miss you all dearly.

daughter is coming to the end of her time there as she is soon off to school. Both girls have enjoyed their time at nursery and I highly recommend the setting.

My daughter's development is well supported and she has made some very close friends. We have even made friends with other parents through her friendships in the nursery.
Thanks so much for taking the time to leave us a 5-star rating – it’s much appreciated!

We are delighted with all that Rose Cottage has done for our son and can't wait until his younger brother can also join. The staff are all so caring and attentive, yet encourage the children to develop their own individual characters and have fun with it. They do a lot of outdoor activities and animal petting, which the kids love. We have noticed our son come on leaps and bounds since starting at Rose Cottage and absolutely loves it. He is always so excited to go to nursery and is constantly talking about both the staff and other kids there, when he is at home. Couldn't recommend highly enough.

My son started in September 2022. We were invited to settling sessions and discussions with his key worker about him! From day one we had confidence in the team that they would deliver care to our baby. Our son has a food allergy and the team have always strived to ensure that they do the best for him, that they can do. He has settled well into the nursery and he adores all the staff. He's adapted to the environment and daily routine and thrives! The communication we receive from the nursery is outstanding and we wouldn't want to send him to any other day care.
