Happitots Nursery Boddam is located at Buchan Braes, Aberdeenshire. Happitots Nursery Boddam is part of award winning Thrive Childcare.

Delighted to have been awarded NMT Nursery Group Award 2018.

The nursery offers quality childcare and education for children from birth to five years of age.

Open Monday – Friday, 7am - 6pm the long opening hours help cater to the needs of parents. Funded hours available for 3-5-year-olds as well as eligible 2-year-olds - and now offer extended funded hours, up to 22.5 hours per week.

They are in partnership with Aberdeenshire Council to offer 2-year-old and pre-school funding. Contact them for more information.

The nursery provides healthy and nutritious meals and snacks, included in fees, from an onsite chef, using the freshest of ingredients and where possible organic.

Parents benefit from; monthly newsletters, parents evenings, Children’s Interests Association Committee, E-learning Journals and car parking, allowing for easy drop off and collection.

Offer flexible, part-time and full-time session plans.

The Nursery Manager has a childcare career spanning over 40 years, with 25 of these having been spent managing childcare services. Despite seeing many changes during this time, their passion for childcare and getting it right for every child is still as strong as it was when they first entered the sector.

The nursery provides a warm welcoming, family friendly environment where you can bring your little one feeling confident in the knowledge that you are leaving them with a dedicated team in a safe, warm and nurturing environment that has been developed to offer them a wide range of experiences and learning opportunities.

Care and activities for children below the standard a parent would expect.
My child has been going there for a few years now and the provision of care has gradually gotten worse. Staff are not particularly nurturing, I see little or no affection being given towards the children.
Activities - I
have no idea what my child gets up to as the only feedback I receive is they had a great day, spent all day in the garden etc. I do get a detailed overview of every morsel of food they have been offered that day, which my child usually corrects once we have left.
Management is responsive when have been concerns raised but sceptical that changes are implemented and that training of staff is continuous.
I have been very close to pulling out my child but they have formed close friendships with the children there and they are very routine-based, though I might have no option if the quality of care does not improve soon.

Both my three year old and one year old attend Happitots Nursery Boddam and have done since they were nione months old. They attend regularly and now on weekends even ask if they can go to nursery. I think that says a huge amount about how much of a positive impact the staff have on our children. They
absolutely love them all and enjoy every second of being with their nursery family.

I’m so happy that my son attending to Happitots Boddam nursery. He learned so many new things in those years. We are from Lithuania, and we speak in our own language at home but he started to speak English so well. He is so happy that they have a lot of activities at nursery such as playing in the garden,
singing, dancing, painting and cooking. All staff care for my kid with love and he can feel that he is going to nursery and feeling like he is at home. Many thanks for all stuff, you do such a great job all.

Wonderful staff, the manager is excellent, runs a very good nursery. Excellent care and facilities. Clean and safe. Children's learning and activities are first class.

Happitots is a brilliant nursery. Our daughter has been there since February 2023 and she has settled in so well. The staff are brilliant with the children and the food they get is very nutritious and healthy. Brilliant nursery.

My daughter attends Happitots Nursery Boddam and absolutely loves it. They do lots of fun activities with them and even walks to the park and out and about. I feel she has come on so much since starting nursery when she was two and half years with counting the alphabet and how she is with friendships
and her little sister.

The staff at the nursery are great. The manager is very approachable and clearly knowledgeable. The food is fantastic.
I had viewed several nurseries in the area with my partner. We knew this would be where our son would be going within minutes of setting foot in here. It's secure, the environment
is great and there is a lovely big back garden.
My son has been going for 4 years and I would highly recommend it.

This nursery isn't shiny and new from the outside but the staff inside make it the excellent place it is. They are caring and nurturing and take enjoyment out of seeing our children develop and grow alongside us. The staff are supportive, accommodating and respond to feedback efficiently. We wouldn't

They are all I was hoping for in a nursery, they put a high value on outside time which I really appreciate. My little boy had a choking incident and the staff knew exactly what to do and probably saved his life.

Staff are friendly, welcoming, encouraging and supportive towards the children. I have used the nursery for many years, my son is now at school and still speaks about his time at nursery. My daughter now attends and I always get a description of what she’s done that day on pick up. The app shows more
detail and pictures, which are great to see. Each day varies from being outside to doing crafts.

My son and daughter attend Happitots Nursery Boddam and they go in with a smile every day. They both absolutely love it there and the staff are brilliant with them. I love the fact they give me a run-down of their day and I wouldn’t want them to go anywhere else. My daughter who is 15-months has come
on so much since she started and it’s amazing to see what they both learn there. My son loves being outdoors and in the room that he is in they are outside a lot, which is perfect. I have phoned the manager a couple of times and each time she explains in detail the questions I have asked.

I have nothing bad to say about the nursery. My son loves it. They do so much with the children. The staff and manager are fantastic. My son loves the food. They are approachable and helpful. They have done such an amazing job during a very difficult last couple of years.

Both my children have attended Happitots (formerly Buoys and Gulls) and I have not had any issues with their care. The staff are all friendly and approachable. My eldest still has fond memories of his time at nursery and my daughter goes into each of the members of staff happy. The app keeps parents
informed of what our children have done each day including food and toileting information. I would recommend Happitots to other parents seeking reliable childcare.

Both of my sons have loved their time at Buoys & Gulls. Both starting in the baby room through to 3-5’s. Staff are great with the kids and take the time to show an interest in their lives at home. Nice meals, plenty of outdoor time and learning activities. Would highly recommend to others.

My 2 grandchildren attend Buoys and Gulls Nursery and they love it. Plenty of outdoor play in a huge outdoor space and they always speak about staff. During lockdown the manager and her team were keeping in touch with the kids and giving out helpful play ideas, she makes everyone feel welcome, even
grandparents collecting children. Staff worked very hard to ensure the children were safe when returning after lockdown but still managed to keep the nursery a fun place to be.

Really happy with how my eldest has settled. After working in a nursery myself for 13 years I have a high standard of what I like and then had a bad experience with his first nursery in 2018 so was delighted when he got his space at Bouys and Gulls Nursery and settled so quickly. My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was 6 months old. It’s quite daunting when you decide to put your child to nursery, but I would not have her going to anywhere else. The level of care and attention given is second to none. Outdoor learning/play is high on the agenda which I think
is great for kids to explore the outdoors. My daughter has made some great friends and close relationships with the “teachers” as she likes to call them. The facilities are great, food is of great choice and nutrition. Overall it gives you peace of mind that not only is your child being cared for properly but they are learning and having great fun at the same time.
