Chestnut Nursery School @ Ray Lodge

Amazing nursery, my child has attended for the last 2 years, all staff and key workers are brilliant, setting is well managed with a variety of activities, they have people coming in regularly for music and football classes etc, My child is always excited to go to nursery, we will really miss them when he leaves this August.

My son started the nursery in September 2025, since the first day there has been constant support and commitment from the staff. It has truly been an honour for both myself as a parent and my child to attend this nursery. The setting is wonderful, the effort is incredible, the lack of information received is effective and efficient. There are information boards at the entrance of the nursery where you can read the daily topics and areas the classes are working on alongside a blackboard with the daily menu on it, this was very helpful. The day to days activities are age appropriate, stimulating, interesting, fun and well thought out. I huge thank you to all the staff at the nursery for all they have done.

We have had a great experience with chestnut. The staff really go the extra mile in their work and relationships with the children. Our son had some ongoing medical issues and the staff were really flexible in terms of the routine and we really appreciated all of the support. Would not hesitate to reccommend and we will be returning again for our younger baby.

The Chestnut Ray Lodge Nursery staff are nothing short of incredible. We have seen our son develop and grow in confidence since coming here from a baby to now being in his final year there. The staff are supportive, caring and nurture the children. They have lovely programs in place to allow parents and children to interact, we've especially enjoyed recent stay and play sessions and parents mornings too. The children have a routine per room and my 3.5yr old son really enjoys being offered free roam of the room or garden and outdoor areas within the day. The nursery also keep us updated of activities and upcoming events which is always so helpful to chat about with our little one when hearing about his day- whether that be guests going in for music/ a football coach lesson /yoga activities or animal visits:- the nursery try to offer a mix of things to suit several needs. I can't fault the 5 star care and attention they give to the children and families who choose to go here. Thank you

My son has just started at Chestnut and has flourished. The staff are exemplary and consistent and show so much affection and empathy for my son. They are knowledgeable when I collect him and can tell me how his day was, leaving me with lots of feedback and reviews of his progress and learning. The staff and management are calm and friendly and have been great in making me feel comfortable with leaving my son there in their care. Highly recommend Ray Lodge Chestnut!

Both my children have attended Chestnut in the last 6 years. We have been extremely satisfied with the service they've provided throughout. The nursery staff are very caring and have formed a real bond with my kids.

I love this nursery for my son. The staff is wonderful and very caring. My son loves going in every morning. They plan lots of fun activities and even organise weekly music and football lessons. The food is provided by an external caterer and is very healthy, varied and nutritional. We get regular updates via the app and are always notified immediately in case of any incident like falls. Overall a fantastic experience for both us as parents and our son.

Chesnuts a is fantastic nursery and my son couldn't enjoy going here any more. He joined at age 1 and every member of staff has shown the same care and attention throughout his time. There really is nothing negative to say, I am so glad we chose to send him here.

Choosing a nursery for your child is a massive decision, but Chestnut Nursery has exceeded all of our expectations. From day one, the staff and management have been incredibly helpful, informative, and supportive, ensuring we always know how our daughter is progressing. Most importantly, our daughter is absolutely thriving and so happy here. She runs through the door every morning with a smile on her face. The staff truly care about the children, and the peace of mind they give us as parents is priceless. We highly recommend this wonderful nursery to any family!"

Still not a fan of HO senior management, but the on the ground management and staff are great.

The management team deserves recognition too. They have created such a welcoming, family-oriented environment and make a real effort to involve parents through events such as Stay and Play sessions, graduation celebrations and weekend parents' evenings where children can come along and play. It really feels like a community, and we couldn't have asked for a better nursery for our children.

Both of my children have have been in the setting from a few months old up to school ages. The environment, learning, care, attention are all great. Staff are wonderful and really do care. The admin team are very responsive on email and go above and beyond to make sure requests are taken care of. In the 7 years I've had children go here, I've only had one issue, which was addressed well. My only couple of criticism points would be the increasing fees, year on year. Starting at £60pd to £107pd on leaving - this is extortionate. Also the lack of flexibility with moving nursery days on the odd occasion without having to book an extra day and incur a cost. Otherwise, a brilliant nursery which I would use all over again!

The nursery manager and teachers genuinely care about the children's wellbeing. They are always accommodating to our requests and do their best to help the children grow, learn, and develop new skills.

On the few occasions when I had feedback, it was acted on immediately, and we never had to raise the same issue again. That gave us a lot of confidence that our concerns were listened to and taken seriously.

Last but not least, I appreciate the balance between structured activities and giving children the space to play independently and explore at their own pace.

We are very happy with the nursery and grateful that our children can spend their days in such a safe, caring, and nurturing environment while we are at work.

My boy has learnt so many new things, songs and comes home happy! I couldn't praise the staff more.

The management refuses to meet parents for any form of discussion or have communication.

Chestnut Nursery School is a fantastic nursery. Their attention to detail with my child's care is amazing, and every member of staff we have encountered has been engaged, welcoming and friendly. Their settling process was really robust, and my son absolutely loves attending every day. They have a great range of activities and opportunities for the children and a wonderful indoor and outdoor space for play.

Chestnut has been very welcoming and supportive to my child and my family. They are an outstanding nursery that goes above and beyond to look after the children. I can’t fault their work ethic and their commitment to looking after the children. They really do care about their well-being and are very caring. I have been very happy with the care here and my child will be sad to leave when he starts reception.

My son went to Chestnut since the age of 1 and finished just before he started school and he absolutely loved it there. My daughter now also attends the nursery and initially, she struggled to settle in, but the nursery were absolutely fantastic in helping her (and me!) get through that tough initial settling-in period by tailoring their care towards my daughter to her individual needs. I really felt that she was in good hands and had constant reassurance from the staff and manager on her progress. Now, she absolutely loves it there and doesn’t want to come home! From the staff, to the food, to the facilities, to the communication, to the level of care that’s provided here, I can’t speak highly enough. Thank you for doing such a great job every single day!

Lovely premises with outdoor play areas next to a park, friendly and caring staff, great kids menu. We feel our kid is in a safe and loving environment and he always comes home in a happy mood. Very happy overall.

Both of my children have attended this nursery and I have nothing but good things to say. Clear communication, kind staff and my children have been very happy here. Making friends and developing their social skills, which has allowed my eldest child to transition into school smoothly.
