My 2 sons have both attended Nelly's Nursery. We have found the space and the facilities to be perfect for our growing boys - particularly the wonderful garden, but more importantly we have been very impressed by the staff who work there. My youngest son has now been in the nursery for almost 2 years.
His key workers are energetic, fun and full of ideas to make his day fun and full of learning. He has formed a strong bond with many of the staff that care for him. He is happy to attend which makes our lives so much easier and I have found the current managerial team a pleasure to deal with. We have one more year left at Nelly's and we will all be very sad when it's time to move on.

Our daughter had been in Nelly's Lancaster Avenue since she was ten months old so nearly a year. She has developed lots since attending nursery, always learning new things and thoroughly enjoying her time there.
The staff are amazing and it’s fabulous she has a key worker who keeps us updated and informed
of her continuous development.
The menu is fabulous, lots of variety. The garden, which has recently been revamped, is huge! Lots of space for the children to run around in.
Our daughter seems happy there as are we with our choice.

We have put two of our children through this Nelly’s nursery and are thrilled with both experiences. Currently, our two year old attends and has done since seven months. Every morning that he is due to attend Nelly’s, he leaves the house smiling and looking forward to his day. This is absolute testament
to the staff, their friendliness and care for the children, the facilities as well as the fabulous menus. Furthermore, we are pleased that many of the staff who looked after our older son 6 years ago are still there caring for our younger son - low staff turnover validates the quality of this team. As a family, we could not recommend it enough.

My one year old son has just started Nelly's recently. This was always going to be difficult for both of us, as we have never been apart. The Nelly's team has made the separation so much easier by providing us both with reassurance, a welcoming environment and the friendliest faces.
From the moment
we enter the building, we find that every member of the team takes the time to acknowledge you with a warm smile.
The baby room provides everything that a new parent could possibly look for. It is light, spacious and counts with endless inviting resources for our little ones to play with. But most importantly, the most caring and attentive team to look after our most precious possession, our babies!

Our daughter started at Nelly's 5 months ago, and we have all been very happy with this nursery.
The staff are highly professional and approachable. Compared to our previous nursery, settling-in and the relationship with the key worker have been very positive with consistent attention, dedication,
and communication with the parents.
The staff are positively confident and happy to chat with parents. They have a pleasant and relaxed attitude and seem to enjoy Nelly's as a place to work.
The rooms are very spacious and light, and the garden is amazing, offering the kids lots of opportunities to explore and be independent.
Food is also great, and parents' suggestions are frequently incorporated. The menu is carefully planned and balanced and shared with parents up front.
Nelly's try to involve parents as much as possible, via frequent email updates, social events or inviting parents to engage with the kids.
Management is always approachable, and very on top of things.

Both our daughters have attended Nelly's since they were 12 months old (eldest just finished reception at school now, and youngest in the pre-school room at Nelly's). We have been happy with the warm caring nature provided by staff. We have always had the same key workers, providing good stability
for the girls. The baby room has very high standards of cleanliness and is well equipped for the little ones. The nursery has really helped to improve both our daughters' confidence and social skills so that the transfer from nursery to pre-school/reception has been very easy.
The nursery opening and closing times are convenient for working parents, and there is flexibility for additional day requests if staff numbers allow for it.
The nursery menu is well balanced, varied and includes different cuisines, something which we feel is lacking in other schools and nurseries in the local area.

The outside space at Nellys is a rare thing in London and was a key factor in choosing the Nursery. Its being revamped and the team reached out and involved me in helping with the veg beds. We had a garden party to celebrate. I really welcome this parent-nursery engagement.
My daughter's key workers
- she had 1 in the baby room and 1 in the big room - (so great continuity) have been brilliant - caring, curious and fun. Its a well organised nursery but relaxed and friendly too. The current manager really recognises the need to focus on communicating learning plans and knows that parents really value regular updates and emails about what the children are up to.

Since joining, my son has developed in many ways. He's a lot more confident and independent. The outdoor space has just been redone and is brilliant. Lots of activities to keep the children entertained and the staff is very friendly and caring. Communication with parents is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate
to recommend this nursery, in fact, I already have.

Nelly's is a wonderful, nurturing nursery. The staff are professional and have great relationships with the children. They get to know your child and encourage them to explore and get involved with all activities. There are daily themes with games and activities including PE, cooking, art, craft,
nature, yoga, books, dress up amongst many, many others.


My daughter has been there since she was 11 months old and adores nursery days. Every evening she tells me about her day - she is always so enthusiastic. The nursery has excellent facilities including a huge garden which is used to its full potential.


There's a varied menu of home cooked food and snacks and children are encourage to try as many different foods as possible. There's plenty of free play during the day but also structured key worker sessions where children are in small groups to complete an activity.


I can't recommend Nelly's and their staff highly enough.

Staff are excellent, really friendly and easy to talk to. They are firm yet gentle and never seem to raise their voices yet still get listened to. The play rooms are tidied regularly and the outdoor garden is huge and great fun. My toddler loves it there. The staff are excellent writing down progress
and as a parent, I love to review the record books. I am sending my baby there in a few months to join her sister and am confident that she will love it too.

Both my children attended Nelly's Nursery - Lancaster Avenue over several years. I can whole heartedly recommend. Nelly's provides a fun, interesting and caring environment. The outside space is wonderful and my children thoroughly enjoyed their time here.

We have one child at Nelly's and our other will be starting in January when they are one. Our daughter has been at Nelly's since she turned one and settled in very quickly which we found surprising as she was quite a clingy baby. However, she loves all the staff at the nursery and is happy going there
each day. She has grown hugely in confidence and has developed well in her language and communication skills. We moved house a bit further away recently but didn't even consider changing nurseries as she is so settled and happy there and therefore we are happy too!

We have been delighted with how our son has flourished at Nelly's since joining at 12 months old and have always felt that he is in excellent childcare. He is now nearly 3 years old. The staff are warm and caring and have developed excellent relationships with him. He regularly brings home paintings
and photos so we feel involved with his day. He's also made lots of lovely friends. As parents, we're pleased that he has a range of structured activities each week - and have been particularly pleased that he now speaks French at home! We also love borrowing books from the library.

Our son has been attending Nelly's for the past eight months and we are extremely happy with the care provided there. We have experience of two other nurseries previously and Nelly's is by far the best - with regards to the quality of the staff, the communication with parents, the facilities and just
generally the positive and nurturing atmosphere.
Our son has a very close bond with his key worker and loves the wide range of activities and particularly the big garden which can be accessed the whole day.
It's very easy to communicate with the nursery via phone or email and staff always have sufficient time during pick up for a chat and to pass on information about how the day went.

I have been using Nelly's Nursery, Lancaster Avenue since June 2014, both my daughters attend, my youngest joined just 6 weeks ago and I remain happy with the level of care, attention and facilities.
The team at Nelly's Lancaster Avenue are fantastic and many have been there for years. Another big
plus is the amazing outdoor space - a really lovely huge garden.

Nelly's on Lancaster Avenue has provided incredibly good, consistent, gentle and loving care to my kids. The staff are awesome and I shall be sad when my son leaves next month to go to school. I cannot recommend Nelly's more highly. Both my daughters have attended and I have watched their confidence and self-esteem grow. Staff are caring, creative and fun and encourage all kinds of positive behaviours. I have no doubt about the contribution Nelly's has made to the happy, funny little people
my kids are today. The facilities are excellent and the range of activities is great. The food is healthy, diverse and delicious and promotes all kinds of positive eating. From my own point of view, Nelly's has helped me to achieve a better work/life balance. I feel very lucky to have childcare I have full confidence in.

We have been extremely happy with this nursery. Our daughter has attended 4 days per week since she was 1 year old and leaves to attend school. Our second child will be attending Nelly's Lancaster Avenue when maternity leave ends.
We are impressed by the level of care and attention all children receive,
and the key person system works very well. Children are supported to explore, develop and learn in a safe and responsive environment.
The outside space is especially excellent (particularly for a London nursery!). They're outside in all weather (entirely appropriately!). The mud kitchen is well loved.
Our daughter has really enjoyed the outings - from woods, parks, and the supermarket and library, to the Natural History and Science Museums.
We have noted the positively low rate of staff turnover.

Job Title: Nursery Manager Joined: 2022

My name is Jonelle Jacob and I am the Nursery Manager here at Nelly’s Lancaster Avenue.


My journey within the Childcare sector began in 2010 where I worked as a level 2 practitioner, gaining my qualifications as an Early Years Educator.


On way to becoming a manager, I worked to mentor and support apprentices in completing their qualifications, building a strong relationship with all of my colleagues.


I am very passionate about working with children and love to see how they develop with age. I believe it’s important to deliver all children with a ‘home away from home’ experience which is why I strive to achieve a partnership with all parents across the setting.


I have a calm and friendly nature, a big smile and will always go above and beyond to ensure my team provides the highest levels of childcare.


My philosophy is driven by the quote “children are not a distraction from more important work, they are the most important work”.
