Partou Lancaster Avenue Day Nursery & Pre-School

My son has attended Nelly's Lancaster Avenue since September 2017. He struggled to settle in the early months (due to his own challenges with being separated from parents/home) and the staff were incredibly flexible, thoughtful and caring to help him to feel more confident being at the nursery. Since then he has grown in confidence and he really looks forward to going. We/he particularly like the fantastic outdoor space as the garden is large and always has a wide variety of activities for the children to do outside. They really encourage children and staff to be outside as much of the time as possible. My son has medical/personal needs and Nelly's have been very responsive and proactive in managing these and keep an eye out for him in certain situations he might find tricky. All of the staff are warm and friendly and clearly love being around children (which I have found isn't always a given in a nursery setting). We are very happy with the nursery.

One thing that initially drew us to this nursery was the garden and the facilities have only gotten better over the last two years. Our son loves spending time in the garden and over the summer seemed to do little else, a wonderful space to explore and race around.

My daughter has been attending Nelly's since October 2016 and has loved every minute of the nursery since she joined, she can't wait to go in each day. She enjoys all the activities provided and is enjoying the new facilities in the outdoor space. She has made many friends and loves to come home with new artwork or drawings each evening. The staff are very friendly and welcoming and the relationship my daughter has with her key person is something very special. I would highly recommend this nursery and I look forward to our son starting next year.

My son has been attending Nelly’s - Lancaster Avenue since February 2016. In this time he has flourished in the happy and nurturing environment that they have created for the children. The beautiful garden is such a fantastic resource for the children to enjoy. And the activities that the nursery sets up each day are varied and provide good opportunities for learning. More importantly, the key workers care for the children with great care and humour. They are fantastic!

My firstborn went to Nelly's when it first opened 8 years ago. When we went there to look round 7 years later for my son I knew lots of the staff still. I think this is a really good sign and I was delighted.

Nelly's is a warm and caring setting. The children are very well looked after. My son adores going to Nelly's. The garden space is really special.

My 2 sons have both attended Nelly's Nursery. We have found the space and the facilities to be perfect for our growing boys - particularly the wonderful garden, but more importantly we have been very impressed by the staff who work there. My youngest son has now been in the nursery for almost 2 years. His key workers are energetic, fun and full of ideas to make his day fun and full of learning. He has formed a strong bond with many of the staff that care for him. He is happy to attend which makes our lives so much easier and I have found the current managerial team a pleasure to deal with. We have one more year left at Nelly's and we will all be very sad when it's time to move on.

Our daughter seems happy there as are we with our choice.

We have put two of our children through this Nelly’s nursery and are thrilled with both experiences. Currently, our two year old attends and has done since seven months. Every morning that he is due to attend Nelly’s, he leaves the house smiling and looking forward to his day. This is absolute testament to the staff, their friendliness and care for the children, the facilities as well as the fabulous menus. Furthermore, we are pleased that many of the staff who looked after our older son 6 years ago are still there caring for our younger son - low staff turnover validates the quality of this team. As a family, we could not recommend it enough.

The baby room provides everything that a new parent could possibly look for. It is light, spacious and counts with endless inviting resources for our little ones to play with. But most importantly, the most caring and attentive team to look after our most precious possession, our babies!

Management is always approachable, and very on top of things.

The nursery menu is well balanced, varied and includes different cuisines, something which we feel is lacking in other schools and nurseries in the local area.

My daughter's key workers - she had 1 in the baby room and 1 in the big room - (so great continuity) have been brilliant - caring, curious and fun. Its a well organised nursery but relaxed and friendly too. The current manager really recognises the need to focus on communicating learning plans and knows that parents really value regular updates and emails about what the children are up to.

Since joining, my son has developed in many ways. He's a lot more confident and independent. The outdoor space has just been redone and is brilliant. Lots of activities to keep the children entertained and the staff is very friendly and caring. Communication with parents is excellent. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this nursery, in fact, I already have.

Nelly's is a wonderful, nurturing nursery. The staff are professional and have great relationships with the children. They get to know your child and encourage them to explore and get involved with all activities. There are daily themes with games and activities including PE, cooking, art, craft, nature, yoga, books, dress up amongst many, many others.

My daughter has been there since she was 11 months old and adores nursery days. Every evening she tells me about her day - she is always so enthusiastic. The nursery has excellent facilities including a huge garden which is used to its full potential.

There's a varied menu of home cooked food and snacks and children are encourage to try as many different foods as possible. There's plenty of free play during the day but also structured key worker sessions where children are in small groups to complete an activity.

I can't recommend Nelly's and their staff highly enough.

Staff are excellent, really friendly and easy to talk to. They are firm yet gentle and never seem to raise their voices yet still get listened to. The play rooms are tidied regularly and the outdoor garden is huge and great fun. My toddler loves it there. The staff are excellent writing down progress and as a parent, I love to review the record books. I am sending my baby there in a few months to join her sister and am confident that she will love it too.

Both my children attended Nelly's Nursery - Lancaster Avenue over several years. I can whole heartedly recommend. Nelly's provides a fun, interesting and caring environment. The outside space is wonderful and my children thoroughly enjoyed their time here.

We have one child at Nelly's and our other will be starting in January when they are one. Our daughter has been at Nelly's since she turned one and settled in very quickly which we found surprising as she was quite a clingy baby. However, she loves all the staff at the nursery and is happy going there each day. She has grown hugely in confidence and has developed well in her language and communication skills. We moved house a bit further away recently but didn't even consider changing nurseries as she is so settled and happy there and therefore we are happy too!

We have been delighted with how our son has flourished at Nelly's since joining at 12 months old and have always felt that he is in excellent childcare. He is now nearly 3 years old. The staff are warm and caring and have developed excellent relationships with him. He regularly brings home paintings and photos so we feel involved with his day. He's also made lots of lovely friends. As parents, we're pleased that he has a range of structured activities each week - and have been particularly pleased that he now speaks French at home! We also love borrowing books from the library.
