The Nest Nursery at Pype Hayes provides a warm, home-like environment where babies and young children can feel safe, loved, and secure from their very first days. Established in 2009 on the grounds of Gunter Primary School, it is one of the founding Curiosity Approach® settings, offering exceptional care for children up to four years old.

Designed to feel homely and welcoming, the open-plan space features natural materials, soft lighting, and calming colours, creating a nurturing atmosphere that supports children’s emotional well-being. The carefully curated environment encourages independence, curiosity, creativity, and meaningful play. Highly experienced practitioners provide individualised care, ensuring each child’s needs are met with warmth, patience, and understanding.

Children benefit from a unique Forest School experience, where they engage in outdoor adventures, build confidence, and develop a deep connection with nature. Whether indoors or outdoors, learning is hands-on, immersive, and led by curiosity.

The Nest Nursery at Pype Hayes is dedicated to providing high-quality care and learning, fostering independence and exploration in a setting designed to spark imagination and wonder.

Our eight-month-old son started his settle this month. All of the staff made our son feel at ease in his new environment and also helped settle our nerves as parents leaving our child for the first time. The whole vibe and environment of the nursery are fantastic and the staff are professional, attentive
and friendly. The activities and play areas are involving and our son cannot wait to explore until his heart's content. We as a family look forward to our son's journey at this fabulous nursery.

My child has been with The Nest family for over 2 years now and I couldn't be happier with the progress he has made. He loves going there and talking about his varied experiences. His independence and creativity have improved so much. The communication from the staff is outstanding and I would not hesitate

When I take my twins to The Nest they can't wait to arrive especially on forest school days or learn and sign and also dancing lessons, they just totally love every minute there.

The Nest Nursery is an excellent setting for children, my daughter is currently enrolled here and my son was here from 2010 - 2013. The quality of care and protection of the children is nothing short of excellent and my daughter is very happy here. I would not hesitate to recommend The Nest Nursery

I've had 2 children go to the next, the first went to school this year and even the school commented on how they loved The Nest. The staff are so friendly and it is evident how loving they are as there are loads of strong bonds and both my children really loved their time there It is a well-run nursery
and they are always there to support me with any issues I may have.

Both my girls have/are gone/going to this nursery. I would highly recommend this nursery to anyone. From the staff, interaction with the children, the freedom they get rather than being locked in a room like a lot of other nurseries do, all ages play with each other and can literally do and go around
the nursery as they please. (With staff supervision of course). My eldest built so much confidence there and friends and I hope to see this with my little one who is currently there now.

Throughout the years my son has attended nursery. If it were possible I would have my son here past 5 years. This is because I have never once worried about his safety or well-being. The staff are amazing, friendly, welcoming and my son is always excited to be here. His social and mental development
is always a priority to The Nest Nursery. When his home life became disrupted the management at the nursery helped him and us above and beyond what is expected. For this I will always be grateful and will recommend The Nest Nursery to anybody I know.

My child went not The Nest Nursery Pype Hayes for 4 years and we all loved it. The staff are amazing and it felt like a home from home. The Nest is run by staff who want children to flourish and learn. I have and will continue to recommend The Nest as an amazing place for children.

I have had two children attend the nursery now and throughout this, the staff have been the same - a new face or two. Consistently friendly faces and hard working staff that provide learning opportunities and supportive of children's needs. I would not send my children anywhere else. They are fully
involved in helping children and families going above and beyond.

About 2 years ago we changed our son's nursery because we wanted him to attend a setting with a forest school. We have never looked back! The cosy Nest Nursery offers a wide range of stimulating activities such as dance and yoga, our son's favourite class "learn & sign", natural materials instead of
plastic toys and computers, and they use the attached school hall and children's centre.
Staff are extremely dedicated and our son loves them. Sometimes he comes home covered in mud, paint and always with a big smile, bursting to tell us about his day and his friends.

I have been a parent at The Nest for 6 years. My middle son has been there for the past 1 and a half years. He absolutely loves coming here and I'm always amazed when he comes home and tells me all the lovely things he has done. I think a good sign of a fun day is messy clothes and messy hands. My son
always has a fun day.


He loves the fantastic garden with mud kitchen and sandpit. He loves painting and the role play area. He loves his keyworker and I can't believe all the different food tries. He and I always tell family and friends about The Nest. It's fab.

My daughter has attended this nursery since she was six and a half months old. She is now 14 months old. The environment is always inviting staff are always caring and patient time is always spent allowing me to get an insight to my daughters day. The outside environment is simply beautiful, the resources
and equipment is of a high standard. I would recommend to friends as my daughter has come on so much since attending the nursery.

If Carlsberg made nurseries this would be it. This setting is second to none, providing the children with a safe, exciting, stimulating environment. The staff are passionate about encouraging the children to explore their imaginations and provide them with the skills and resources to do so.
This nursery
goes above and beyond in enriching children's experiences by providing a wide range of both in house and off site activities such as forest school, theatre trips, learn and sing and sign. The use of the Tapestry app is fantastic as it allows parents to see and share their childs learning experiences. I am so very grateful that I found this nursery for my children.

The Nest Nursery Pype Hayes is an excellent nursery and both of our children have had a brilliant time there. The staff are very friendly and great at dealing with both children and parents. The nursery offers Forest School expeditions to the local nature reserve and our children have really enjoyed
these as they give them a great opportunity to get out and about and be independent. The outside play area at The Nest is excellent, with a wide range of things for the children to do and the staff are always keen to get the children outside, even if the weather isn't great. The food is of a high quality and the staff are really good at getting the children to try different things.
