Family events throughout the year, including a summer fun day, bring parents into nursery life and strengthen the home and nursery partnership that makes a real difference to children's learning and wellbeing.

We were new to the area and were very nervous about finding a suitable nursery for my then 4, and 2 and a half year old (with very different personalities).
Daybreak had the perfect setup for us - a Big Sunshine’s room and a separate Little Sunshine’s room with a common outdoor space. The staff were
extremely friendly and warm meaning both kids settled in far quicker than expected. Over the 12 months we were there, so many friendships were made and it was clear they were really enjoying their time at nursery. The curiosity approach paired with some structured sessions allowed our kids to explore and develop their interests but also focus them on essential skills development.
The staff were always great at dealing with tricky challenges such as a very fussy eater, the rollercoaster of emotions children experience and adapting to the ‘new normal’ post-Covid
The nursery feels like a family and somewhere the children were happy to be.
I would highly recommend this nursery!

My child has been with Daybreak since he was 9-months-old (starting off at Amersham Town Centre). He thoroughly enjoys nursery and the range of activities they do.
The setting is great with a recent refurbishment and they have a great outside space that they use daily. All of the staff are friendly,
approachable and caring.

Daybreak Amersham is our third nursery (as we have moved twice) and it is by far the best. The staff really make this place. They are kind, attentive and very communicative and always take time to talk to us and give useful feedback.
The educational emails are really helpful too with geat photos, that
always brighten my day at work.
Daybreak has great facilities, is lovely and bright and always clean. I would have no hesitation in recommending Daybreak to other families.

My little girl stared at Daybreak when she was 10 months old. The settling period was so helpful. She had time in the nursery with me and without, and her main carers visited her at home so they understood her better and they were familiar to her. She has really loved her time at Daybreak and has travelled
from baby room through Little Sunshines in the preschool. I have to say I have always felt the staff really care about her. They have all made an effort to know her and go the extra mile. The emergency days have also been so helpful as I work a shift pattern and at times have needed time not in her usual hours. Thank you so much to all.

My son has been at Daybreak for over a year now. He has settled well thanks to the staff and is very happy at the nursery. He has fun and has been learning lots too. The blossom app is great - I love seeing the pictures of what he's been up to! Would highly recommend.

I have two boys, my youngest is now in Big Sunshines and my eldest left Daybreak in September to start school. Both my children have been with Daybreak since they were small(er), starting off at ATC.

Throughout their time with Daybreak I have never once had any concerns for their wellbeing. The

staff are all very friendly and really engage with the children, activities are varied and keep them interested and stimulated, and the food, well, they eat more varied food than I do so no complaints there either. The children are clearly well looked after and enjoy their time there.
The Blossom app is a great addition to the nurseries, meaning that as a parent you get more detailed (and photographic) information regarding their day but also means that the hand-over at the end of the day when you just want to get home is smooth and straight-forward.

Daybreak is a fantastic nursery. My son has some speech and learning issues and all the staff have gone above and beyond in order to support him. The staff are friendly, approachable, and so very caring. The days are well structured, educational and fun. This is a brilliant setting to prepare pre-school
children for the transition to 'big school'. Best choice I could have made for my child!

My son has recently transitioned to the Little Sunshine’s room, he has settled well, the staff are caring, attentive and their activities are engaging. I really like the parent app and enjoy receiving daily updates as I have little contact with dropping off and picking up. This really helps with communication.
The management team are always helpful and the staff too.

The nursery staff are fantastic. They manage to strike the perfect balance between play and education. They also have a clear set of rules and have clearly planned the day in advance so that the children are always fully engaged. The plethora of food served is also first class.

We have been very happy with our daughters time in the 'Little Sunshine's Room'. The carers really care for her and have taken time to invest in her learning and development. We like the activities planned and there appears to be more effort recently in planning arts and crafts activities and also local
outings which our daughter has enjoyed. She has recently had some health problems but her key carer and manager have been excellent in managing this and reassuring us in the event that she became unwell at nursery with a robust structured health plan.

My daughter enjoys going to nursery and we are happy with the care she receives in Big Sunshines. She has bonded really well with her Key Worker and she will talk happily about them outside of nursery.
The management team is strong. Emails are answered promptly and politely and nothing is ever too
much trouble. All members of staff are friendly and approachable. My daughter has particularly enjoyed the excursions outside of the nursery- to the library, the park, the market, the theatre and the fire station. I am impressed that the team are able to do so many trips with the two and three year olds - it cannot be easy!
I would like the owners of Daybreak to look at their fee structure, as they charge a top-up fee for parents using the 15 and 30 hours government funded childcare. I completely understand the reasons behind this, but it does make Daybreak expensive compared to other local childcare facilities.

The staff are really nice and good. They are always there for me and my child and always take the time to talk to us.
Their garden is really nice, the children have a variety of toys to play with in the garden, they even go for walks outside of nursery which is nice.
In the preschool room, my child
has learnt so much, they keep the kids entertained. They do different activities, especially as my daughter needs this as she is hard work sometimes but they do keep her busy.
The room has changed so much with the room leader, he is so good and has made the room what it is today, making lovely changes.
I see changes in my daughter which is lovely to see. My daughter always talks about nursery and she is happy and so am I. Wouldn't have chosen a better nursery for my daughter really happy I appreciate the nursery and what they all work so hard made it what it is today. My daughter really enjoys the fresh food they have an on-site chef always cooking different food which is nice. My daughter even does top banana cooking she really likes this every week.

My daughter thrived at Daybreak and enjoyed her time there. The staff are kind, caring and fun, and it was easy to build a good rapport with them. The management was always approachable and responded quickly, positively and proactively to any problems I raised. They instituted a parent rep system which
worked well. I also recommend the paid cooking classes that are held there.
Although they have made the best of it, the nursery's outside play area is small and I think the nursery could make much more use of the large parks and playgrounds nearby.
Overall, I am happy to recommend the nursery.

My daughter enjoys going to Daybreak. Staff seem attentive and observant. I have appreciated the regular parent's evenings where my daughter's development has been discussed with me. I find it would be helpful to be kept up to date of progress between these sessions, but understand in a busy nursery
this isn't always possible. The staff are always friendly and welcoming.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.738)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.738) out of 10 for Partou Chiltern Avenue Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 12 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Day Nursery is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.938 for Partou Chiltern Avenue Day Nursery & Pre-School is calculated as follows: ( (136 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 144 Ratings = 4.938
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Partou Chiltern Avenue Day Nursery & Pre-School is based on 12 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.8
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the number of registered child places in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Day Nursery registered for a maximum of 50 child places has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 number of registered child places is 10, which has been reached with 12 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Day Nursery does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
