Our daughter loves her nursery. She's formed a great relationship with her key person, whose feedback on my daughter's development is really helpful. The staff have cared for her throughout significant health issues, understanding her needs and catering to them safely. She enjoys a well thought out and balanced (and exotic!) diet and eats pretty much everything which they cook freshly on site. She loves playing outside on the bikes, the imagination games in the tuff trays and doing arts and crafts. As well as circle time with songs and dancing. Every day she comes home with something new and glittery that she's made. As a family, we absolutely love this nursery and how it has nurtured our daughter and helped her to learn.

I honestly can’t praise the nursery enough, all the staff members are fantastic. My little boy has been at this nursery since he was 6 months old and leaves this year, they have taught him so much. They constantly keep me up to date with his development and what he has been up to with his little friends each day and they tell me how funny he's been with his wild imagination.

Our daughter has developed so many skills since attending in September 2020. The staff are all extremely friendly and despite the difficult circumstances, we don't feel our daughter could have been in safer hands.

Bright Horizons Astley is amazing. It has been a difficult year for all but they have worked so hard to maintain normality as much as possible for the children. My son is in Pre-School and really loves his keyworker. She worked hard to settle him back in after lockdown and really helped to develop his social skills again. He is progressing so well. He loves all the craft activities, outside play as well as Dough Disco. The staff put so much hard work into developing the children, supporting them and creating a fun place to learn. Interaction has been harder for parents due to the measure in place to ensure safety for all, but the online resources and newsletters, as well as the festive Activity Pack, have been amazing. There is so much thought and attention to detail in everything done. We really loved the Christmas Pack that came home this week containing photos of festive activities, crafts as well as a few treats. Thank you to the whole team!

I honestly can’t praise the nursery enough, all the staff members are fantastic. My little boy has struggled settling back in due to the recent unprecedented times, but with the patience and encouragement from the team at Bright Horizons, he is now once again absolutely loving his time there.
They constantly keep me up to date with his development and what he has been up to with his little friends each day.

The meals are fantastic, great variety and the nursery itself inside and out is spotless!

I value the professionalism of the staff who hand over each evening giving me a summary of my daughter’s day along with a sheet. My daughter enjoys arts and crafts and activities. A lot of thought goes into these and child development is at the forefront of the nursery’s mind. The staff are very caring and engage with my child. It’s a happy, loving environment where she has fun and feels safe. In these Covid times, extra care has been taken with mask-wearing and the building being relatively new, I feel that it is clean. It would be helpful to know when deep cleans occur. Outdoor space - Although it is safe it is fake grass and near a busy road so there is pollution and no natural wildlife which is a shame. Food - It would be helpful to know what variety of fruit and veg are offered. 'What’s on your plate' workshops would help get children interested in an array of foods, flavours and textures. Evening meals should be more elaborate and warm in winter at least.

Leaving your child at nursery is always quite daunting, however, Bright Horizons Astley Day Nursery and Preschool has always been a home from home for my two children! I couldn't ask for a better team to look after them, they always go that extra mile, treating them as if they are their own! The little things really do matter and make such a difference - putting my little girl's hair back up when it falls down, allowing both my children to see each other when they're upset - even though they are different rooms, making cards when it's a family members birthday, the list is endless. The staff at Bright Horizons Astley are the happiest and kindest people and I'll be sad when it's time for them to leave!

My sons had a few nursery moves due to personal circumstances. He has been here a couple of months now and has settled amazingly! His key person made him feel so welcome and he loves coming in in the mornings. He’s made really good relationships with his friends and all the staff. The activities and things he’s been doing recently have been really beneficial to get him school ready. Thank you preschool.

Absolutely fantastic nursery and staff. My son started at Bright Horizons in March 2019 upon my return to work from Mat leave. The staff made both myself and my son feel super welcome and the settling in period was tailored to our needs. Since then, I feel my son has learnt and developed in a number of ways. I really couldn’t recommend this nursery enough.

My little one started her visits in September on her first visit she settled really well with staff in the baby room. We got introduced to her key person on the first day who explained all about development books, activities, mealtimes. Any questions I had they were happy to answer. Staff have been happy to follow my little girls routine from home during her time on visits.
Every time I've picked her up she's always smiling and shows lots of interest in the toys and what her new little friends are doing. The children have access to outdoors in all weathers which is nice to see them explore in and out.

Its been lovely having 8 weeks settling in sessions to make sure she settles before my return to work. We look forward to her starting in November making lots of new friends and build a lovely relationship with her key person/buddy and hearing what fun she's had in the day watching her milestones build.

My son has been there for almost a year. Quite a shaky start due to newly appointed room supervisor not always being around. The last few months have been great and the nursery management have been very supportive.

Bright Horizons are very understanding of my child's needs. She has CP so requires lots of care and patience. Our child is well looked after and not excluded from any activities within the nursery. We feel the care given to our daughter is amazing and really appreciate all the hard work all the staff so to help develop our little girl.

My daughter has been at the nursery since January and I can honestly say it's probably the best thing I could have done for her. She loves going and she looks forward to playing with the children, learning new things and she absolutely loves her nursery nurses. My daughter has been at Kids 2 Us since being 7 months old. I can highly recommend the nursery and will be sad when she leaves to join the school in September.

My daughter's key worker is great with her, she can be shy at times but her key worker helps her in so many ways. All the staff at Kids 2 Us are really nice and helpful.

Sarah Job Title: Nursery Manager
Sarah

I've worked for the company for 24 years and I have over 30 years’ experience working with children. I qualified as a nursery nurse at the age of 18 where I gained my BTEC National Diploma in Nursery Nursing. As my passion for childcare grew, I took on supervisory roles where I really enjoyed sharing my knowledge with others.

By the age of 24, I was given the opportunity to take on a managerial role, which I am truly thankful of. Over time, I have continued to develop my own personal development, gaining my Level 4 in Early Years, NVQ trainer and Assessor Qualification, Advanced Safe Guarding, First Aid and SENCO.

I have been married to my husband Chris for 22 years and I have two beautiful Children, Emily who is 20 and Freya who is 16.

Katie Job Title: Deputy Manager
Katie

Hello, my name is Katie, I have been in post as Deputy Manager at Astley Day Nursery for the last 5 years. I have worked in childcare for the last 10 years, starting as a nursery nurse working my way up to Deputy Manager.

I am extremely passionate about my job ensuring the children enjoy their day at Nursery, thriving to ensure they are provided with the highest standard of quality care. During my time at Bright Horizons I have thoroughly enjoyed supporting the children and their families and giving them the opportunities, to learn, flourish and grow.

I have 2 children of my own, twin boys who I love watching thrive and grow.
