Wee Gems Broxburn offer funded pre-school places for 3 to 5 year old.

We have had two children develop and grow with the support of Wee Gems in Broxburn. The learning styles and friendliness of the team are absolutely fantastic. Our children have become role models and respectful, polite human beings which were assisted by Wee Gems. I can't thank them enough for the work
and effort they put into the nursery and developing the children.
They are always happy to chat and if you get stuck at short notice, they do their best to help you.
Not had any issues with them in the 7 years we've used them.

Overall, this nursery is excellent. The staff are fantastic and extremely caring. When I drop my daughter off she is excited to go and happy to be there. That means I don't worry about her all day.
The opening times really work well for me. The flexibility is essential for many parents.
One negative
point is that the older 3-5-year-old children would benefit from having their own separate room. The open plan nursery gets very noisy and the younger ones, in my view, suffer from levels of noise.

When our little girl started nursery a few months ago, she had significant special needs in terms of her care after some surgery. I was so anxious about her starting nursery at that time and could not have asked for better care.
The staff have all been fantastic and my little girl. I feel they all
know her so well. She has a great time there and educationally she amazes us all the time at how much she is learning at nursery too.

Our 2-year-old daughter has been attending Wee Gems since she was 10 months old. She only attends 1 day a week but she is made to feel very welcome and she seems to enjoy the company of all the other kids and the staff. I believe attending Wee Gems has assisted with her development. She loves singing
and dancing which she does during her time spent in the nursery.
Wee Gems is very flexible regarding attendance times and days, this has helped us on a few occasions to which we are very grateful.
I personally don't believe there is a better nursery out there.

My daughter has been attending this nursery for the last 4 years and we have been very impressed by the dedication of the staff in each of the rooms. Everyone is very welcoming and they obviously know all of the children. There is a good range of additional classes and trips offered too.

My son currently attends Wee Gems and my daughter previously attended since the age of one. My time at Wee Gems is coming to an end with my second nearing school age. It will seem strange not to be there as it's become so familiar and part of our routine over the past 5 years. We Will miss them. Staff
friendly and accommodating. Management supportive and approachable. Good balance of learning and play and glad they use the outdoor space every day. Meals filling and healthy.

Wee Gems is a great nursery with dedicated staff and great facilities. Both of my children have been going there since they were babies and they love it. The staff are always attentive and caring and I know that my kids are in good hands when they are at nursery. Kids are encouraged to learn and explore
various topics each week which is great for their development. They also learn a lot about healthy living, healthy food and physical activities. The nursery has optional classes available; French, football and music. My kids attend music classes and really enjoy them. Food is freshly prepared and always well balanced. Both of my kids eat better at nursery than at home and I am not a bad cook, lol.


I would thoroughly recommend this nursery to anyone living locally especially to first-time parents who are anxious and worried about leaving their child in someone else’s care. I am very grateful for all the support the staff have provided.

Wee Gems, Broxburn is a fantastic nursery with excellent staff - I would highly recommend to anyone! I have two sons attending and both love it. The variety of what they experience is superb, my eldest is even learning French and counted 1-10 this week without any help. Socially, they have both come
on so much; their time at nursery will undoubtedly help when they get to school. Delighted we made the decision to enrol them here. Well done Wee Gems!

My daughter has been attending Wee Gems for over 2 years and the staff are great, very welcoming, understanding to my little one needs. The nursery is great for uplifting confidence and activities are great.

We cannot be more pleased with making Wee Gems our choice, that was more than 3 yrs ago.
The staff have been fantastic, friendly, kind, caring and always putting the children first. We have been very lucky to have excellent key workers in every room to help our son develop both socially and emotionally.
Our son is now enjoying his time in the preschool room - he is busy preparing for the transition to primary school.
We have never had any issues with him not wanting to go to nursery he loves going to play with his friends and have fun.
The activities are well structured, well resourced and there is always time for free play. We love how they change themes to reflect the current interests of the children. The outdoor area is excellent - Astroturf means the children can get outside most days to run off steam, one of the reasons we chose Wee Gems in the first place.
We can't help but be a little sad as we approach the end of our daily visits to Wee Gems. Great job everyone!

I would highly recommend Wee Gems Broxburn Nursery. They offer very nice facilities, super friendly and attentive staff. My daughter started at Wee Gems in December 2016 when she was 3 yrs old.
She struggled at the beginning, but the staff took extra care of her and made her feel welcome and comfortable
there.
Children are offered various and tasty foods. It's a perfect for a fussy eater like my daughter who now eats things I would never think she would like. She likes the variety of things they do and always tells us what she did and tries to do some things at home.She now sings and talks a lot compare to how she was when she started.
I would never pick any other nursery than Broxburn Wee Gems.

My wee boy has been at Wee Gems for 3 years and we all love it.
We looked at a few nurseries all that time ago and none made us feel as welcome and settled as Wee Gems.
From management through to new nursery nurses, everyone is fantastic and so accommodating to make sure that all the children are
included in every activity. The ongoing support all staff have given our son, including strategies from outside professionals to make sure his development is flourishing as well as his peers, has been nothing less than amazing.
He now tells us all the exciting things he gets up to every day.
He is now more than ready for school after the summer, even if I'm not.

I can't recommend this nursery highly enough, my daughter now 3.5 has been there since she was 8 months old. She loves it.
Fabulous staff who know the names and details of all the children and who clearly care for and respect the children. Varied and structured activities, access to lots of music,
craft, projects, garden, outdoors etc. Excellent menu and very accommodating of the needs of parents.
Very very fond of Wee Gems and the role it has played in our little girl's life.

Deciding to put your child in a nursery is a hard decision for any parent. So when I was facing this change I spent hours doing my research and Wee Gems ticked all the boxes.
My son was only 6 months when we joined the nursery. It has been a wonderful journey from the baby room to toddlers, filled
with games, songs and crafts. My son has become much more independent.
I feel that my child is in safe hands when dropping him off to the staff in Wee Gems and I am guaranteed he will have an amazing day of interactions, games, walks and garden play etc...

My little boy started at Wee Gems - Broxburn in the baby room when he was 8 months old, he is now 2 years old. All the staff and management were very helpful and made settling him into nursery a smooth and easy process for both myself and him. This has also been the case when he has been moving up the
next rooms. There are always great activities going on throughout the day and the children get good use of the garden too. The staff also take the children for walks in the community and have even organised a trip to various places for the children to go on. I am always kept fully informed of my child's nursery day and all the staff are great at meeting my child's needs/wants. I love all the lovely choices of food they have on the menu for meal times and ensure my child has a healthy balanced diet. I would EXTREMELY recommend Wee Gems Nursery to anyone looking for the best childcare.

My son has attended Wee Gems from 5 months old. Every member of staff knows and loves him. He enjoys nursery and does things I couldn't do at home with him. The menu is varied and my son has an intolerance that they cater wonderfully for. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Wee Gems to anyone.

My daughter has attended Wee Gems for the past 4 years. I could not be happier with the care that my daughter has received over this time. The staff are fantastic with the children and are always more than happy to help. My daughter is always excited to go to nursery in the morning and spends most of
the night telling me all about the fantastic activities she has participated in that day. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds due to the staff knowing her individual development needs and providing activities to help her to develop at her own pace to the best of her ability. I cannot speak highly enough of management as they made going back to work so much easier by accommodating my needs and my daughters, they are always happy to answer any questions or worries you may have. The large garden area is fantastic for the children to burn off energy while developing gross motor skills using the large climbing frame and other equipment they have.

My 2 year old 4 year old have both been at Wee Gems from the age of 7 months and both absolutely love it. They have both earned a huge amount and had lots of fun in the process. The staff are friendly and approachable and we love that we get updates and photos of what the children have been up to through
the nursery Facebook page and online learning log. Will be really sad when our eldest has to leave to start school in August!

My son has been attending Wee Gems since Aug 16 and what an improvement. I have seen with his Speech, manors and independence. The team at Wee Gems have been excellent towards his eczema, always taking extra time to ensure his creams have been applied. Such lovely staff that take pride in their work
with the kids.

I’m Laura and I have been Manager at Wee Gems Broxburn since May 2022. I have 5 years of childcare experience and hold a BA Hons Degree in Primary Education Studies. I am currently studying for a Post Graduate Diploma in Childhood Practice, Leadership and Management at Glasgow Uni. I absolutely love getting to know all the families and children that I have the privilege to work with every day!
