My daughter has been going to this nursery since she was 10months old, her development is amazing. The staff and Management are fantastic, easy to speak with and always available for a chat.

I have sent both my kids to this nursery, for the simple reasons:


*High standards of professionalism.


*They always feedback the progression (or lack of it) of your child and advise on areas of improvement.


*Not overcrowded, and my daughter enjoys the play area outside.


* The food provided

for the kids is variable and my daughter “cleans” her plate.


* Multicultural and multiracial is a good exposure for the kids.

My son is very happy at the nursery. The staff members take good care of the children, the children are very happy and they have good indoor and outdoor spaces. Freshly cooked healthy meals are provided for the children and the staff make sure they cater for the children’s individual needs.

This is my nephew's first nursery and I must say all I can do is applaud this nursery, he’s come on leaps and bounds since starting this nursery, his character and personality has really come through. This nursery has helped him with his eating and speech massively too! I just want to thank this nursery

Brilliant, caring team. Really well run. We’ve been really impressed with the setup and now have both of our children here full time. There is always a certain level of regret, having to leave your child in someone else’s care for any period of time, let alone full time. But the level of care and attention
that the team give to the children and the set-up is both reassuring and hugely supportive of both child AND parent. Thoroughly recommend.

Bird in Bush is an excellent nursery. My son has attended BiB for more than a year after starting when he was 2 years and 3 months old. The staff are kind and affectionate with the children and take good care of them, making sure they are fed, watered and cleaned. They provide them with a variety of
activities that my son enjoys.
The nursery facilities are excellent. The preschool room has different stations for reading, dressing up, building, messy play, etc. The room is kept clean and is brightly decorated with the children’s artwork. They also have a large garden area that has lots of different equipment for the children to play with.
The nursery offers a menu of healthy food whose variety complements the food we have at home. My son seems to like most of it.
Last but definitely not least, the nursery manager has a wonderful rapport with parents and is quick to offer a sympathetic word or shoulder if you’re going through a tough time.

My niece attends Bird in Bush nursery and has been for 2 years. She is very well advanced for her age and has made tremendous progress in her development. A key highlight has been the development of her vocabulary and sentence formation. I am extremely happy with the resources and activities that the
children partake in to help develop their learning. In addition, the staff are very friendly and approachable and have built remarkable relationships with the children.

My twins have been at Bird in Bush for a year and I am so happy with their development. We moved over from another nursery after having numerous issues with the state of care. Being a first-time mum I had no experience regarding what to look for. I did what I believe most other new mums were doing,
checking Ofsted, word of mouth, was the nursery clean and tidy? But to be honest I really didn’t have a clue what I was doing!
My first visit to Bird in Bush changed all my expectations, I literally left in tears. The standard was and still is excellent. In my eyes, they have set a benchmark.
My two have developed so well and are always happy to arrive, which is a testament to the care they receive. The staff are warm and welcoming and the office door is quite literally always open. You really do feel like one big happy family.
There are so many factors that go into looking after a child, it's a massive responsibility, the level of respect I have for the teachers is beyond words.

Both of my children attend Bird in Bush and have done since they were each a year old. Both the baby room and the preschool rooms and gardens are wonderful. The staff are amazing, always going the extra mile for the children and parents. They do varied and exciting activities for the children and spend
lots of time outdoors which I love. My children have close relationships there with the staff and I am happy knowing they are happy and extremely well cared for while I am at work. I would absolutely recommend Bird in Bush!

I currently have my second child attend this nursery. I cannot say just how fortunate I am to have found, then been accepted at this nursery. As parents, we are regularly updated on the progress of our children and informed immediately if there are any problems with the children, such as a fall or feeling
ill during the time they spent at the nursery.
All the staff members take an interest in my child, and she is always happy to attend. During the time she is at the nursery, she is given food, breakfast is eaten at home, but the fact that the nursery has an in-house chef that cooks fresh healthy meals on a daily basis, and my daughter is given a snack before lunch is brilliant.
The staff are very understanding and do not penalize parents when children are brought in a few minutes late. Not every morning is the same, transport cannot always be relied upon, and despite best efforts, we are sometimes late to arrive, but we have never been turned away for that reason.

Hello, my name is Bianca and I am the interim manager of Old Kent Road Nursery. I have recently joined LEYF but have been working in early years since 2007. I like the New Zealand early years curriculum, Te Whariki and try to create environments that support the holistic development of children wherever I work.
